Ric Flair Posted 23 October 2007 Posted 23 October 2007 Whats wrong with that? . You know fine well what's wrong with that!! I was as equally preturbed by the prospective signing of DJ.
Manwell Pablo Posted 23 October 2007 Posted 23 October 2007 You know fine well what's wrong with that!! I was as equally preturbed by the prospective signing of DJ. So you were, sorry. if must of just seemed like the whole forum was against me that day.
lookwhaticando Posted 23 October 2007 Posted 23 October 2007 Ecstatic. We're gonna win the league, We're gonna win the league The Pontin's Central Division, least ways. :D
Ric Flair Posted 23 October 2007 Posted 23 October 2007 So you were, sorry. if must of just seemed like the whole forum was against me that day. I seem to recall Babylon being very vociferous, especially to you because we weren't ecstatic at the news.
Molson Canadian Posted 23 October 2007 Posted 23 October 2007 just heard the news THIS IS GREAT! i'm sure he will be a great signing for us !
Dr The Singh Posted 23 October 2007 Posted 23 October 2007 He'll only be any good if he gets the right service in he right areas, although I agree he is a positive signing but I keep getting the feeling, little will chaange, Megson will need to bring in a few more faces to bring the best out of him!!!
ASH17LCFC Posted 23 October 2007 Posted 23 October 2007 Good player, should be a player who can change games in this league aswell. Remember when he came on against us and scored twice, but why stick him up top with DJ ???
Milky Posted 23 October 2007 Posted 23 October 2007 Delighted. For a club like ours this is pretty much as good as we could get.
evan Posted 23 October 2007 Posted 23 October 2007 See what you're getting at - quick and eratic finishing.Having said that, the difference lies in the word eratic. Collins John can score great goals and occasionally makes the odd glaring miss. Elvis Hammond just stabs the ball limply wide or mis-hits it tamely to the goalkeeper. CJ has other strengths too... but I feel I'm wasting my time with you, evan. No, i actually like Collins John, i think he's a decent striker but i could hardly say he is a rich man's Elvis Hammond can i? I mean a rich man's elvis hammond would be someone like Adebayor...but a slightly better off man's Elvis Hammond i think is appropriate. As i also went on to say ....i'm raaat made up we've signed him.

I think the similarities with Elvis are as follows: Has played for Fulham. Skin colour. Quick. That is it. I suppose you could include that they are both strikers.
Kilworthfox Posted 23 October 2007 Posted 23 October 2007 John Collins? He was a great player in his day but too old for us surely?
The People's Hero Posted 23 October 2007 Posted 23 October 2007 Has he made the subs bench for tonight ? He's a footballer, not a fu cking carpenter/benchmaker. What next? Want him changing the bulbs in all the floodlights? You know we have Elvis for that.
Simon Posted 23 October 2007 Posted 23 October 2007 This is more like what we want to see. Just want a couple of midfielders now Meggy!

filbertway Posted 23 October 2007 Posted 23 October 2007 I knew that was coming .... I jsut saw your sig. England rugby team bottling it, don't you have to be within a reasonable chance of winning something to bottle it?
Babylon Posted 23 October 2007 Posted 23 October 2007 I seem to recall Babylon being very vociferous, especially to you because we weren't ecstatic at the news. I'll think you will find it was more to do with it being the going rate for a striker like him and that i'd be happy for Fryatt to go and him to come in. Manwell was positive Eastwood and Fryatt were better.... well neither are setting the world on fire either!!!! I was vociferous because he said he basically knew better than anyone else as he watched more football, when in fact he knows nothing about 99% of the people on here to even make that judgement!!!
Monk Posted 23 October 2007 Posted 23 October 2007 Very excited by this signing (Though was banking on it being Chris O'Grady), will be interesting to see if he plays tonight (I expect on the bench). How many strikers do we have in the squad now?? Hopefully he can start banging them in (goals that is, though if he hits the town with Levi, who knows). We need it desparately (again, goals, not our players hitting the town every night for damage)
