Shoppers that use self checkout but put their shopping straight onto the packing area instead of straight into the bag they already have, why? It’s doubling the time it takes .

I know people find this annoying but have you ever tried to use a rucksack with a self-checkout machine?

It takes even longer because the weight is a problem on half the shit you scan and you end up stood waiting for someone to authorise every other purchase.

Daily Mail headline: "UK Gripped By Measles Crisis".

... remind me which paper published the findings of "Doctor" Wakefield as if they were fact, leading to massive antivax sentiment and to this situation?

I reckon all newspapers are hypocrites and turncoats if it helps increase sales.

Oh, without a doubt.

I think it's a bit rarer though when such hypocrisy actually contributes to a public health hazard.

Yes, and generally people will believe what they read rather than explore and investigate or challenge. That said, there seems to have been little or no other research into the MMR vaccine apart from what Dr Wakefield had submitted (which was subsequently de-bunked by the medical institutions and press such as The Lancet) that parents could refer to in order to decide whether it was safe or not.

All they had to go on was the irresponsible press coverage, which entirely took Wakefield at his word.

Results from subsequent extensive research means that there should be no reason for the MMR vaccine to be withheld from children

And spent all of Covid making out it was just a bad case of flu.

If you met someone in the pub that talked to you in the way that the Mail addresses its readers you'd leave, and I would say that's true of Daily Mail readers so why they accept this bollocks in print I've no idea.

This, from a couple of days ago, was incredible:

People who WhatsApp call every single time (I'm not talking about international numbers). Unless I have wi-fi or using my data, I am not going to answer! :frusty:

What else can you be using other than WiFi or data? Genuine question!

Normal phone signal?! I don't have my data on 24-7 or may be out and about so not connected to a wi-fi source

If people are WhatsApp calling during that time I am not going to know

Phone signal!!! I imagine the ‘unlimited minutes’ part of your phone contract is unused Lol

Well, no. I use my unlimited minutes to make normal phone calls, and either my included data or wifi to make and receive WhatsApp calls depending where I am. Lol.

Just leave your mobile data on all the time then, you don't have to answer and you could then ring them back on a standard call.

I know there is a good degree of irony in me responding to this over the web but I often wonder if life would be better if it was a passing fad and we were well shot of it.

But honestly I go there to see how the transfer is progressing and it's another meme of a bloke in a plaster cast

You've been here long enough to know better than that Tuna!

The  transfer sub-forum is like a game of where's Wally except your looking for actual news amongst reams of rubbish.
