lcfcrinaldi Posted 10 July 2008 Posted 10 July 2008 He has signed on a season long loan. What do we think? I think he will be very good in our division and is a good signing even if it is a loan. hopefully plays agaisnt Hinckley.
dandannieldanok Posted 10 July 2008 Posted 10 July 2008 Pretty pleased, but the rumoured attitude problems are the last thing we need. I wonder what this will mean for James Chambers?
Mark Posted 10 July 2008 Posted 10 July 2008 Hope he's more of a success than the previous full back we had named Gilbert
Father Ted Posted 10 July 2008 Posted 10 July 2008 Could potentially be very good, but on the other hand could turn the other way...
FOX_MATT Posted 10 July 2008 Posted 10 July 2008 not really heard of him before but sounds a great addition, i am starting to get excited now about the new season, lots of promising young players, if they all live up to the hype and play well as a team we are gunna rip this league apart!!! - call me optimistic!
teblin Posted 10 July 2008 Posted 10 July 2008 I'm sure he can play both right and left back, but is a right back. Chambers can do the same i guess too.

I think he will be very good in our division and is a good signing even if it is a loan. hopefully plays agaisnt Hinckley. well, pearson seems to be rather confident... hopefully he'll get him focused and sort out his questionable attitude... i'm a little concerned about how many young lads we are getting in tho, i mean we have plenty of them already....but, who knows, he's played at a level higher than this previously...
bigneville Posted 10 July 2008 Posted 10 July 2008 A player with lots and lots of potential. Quality signing.
TaskFox1 Posted 10 July 2008 Posted 10 July 2008 Another quality young one on the books. I can see a good blend between seasoned professionals and youngster doing the job for us this year.
Finnegan Posted 10 July 2008 Posted 10 July 2008 Surprised he's come down to League One, to be honest. I used to post a bit on a Bluebirds forum and they were quite fond of him.
Jimmy Posted 10 July 2008 Posted 10 July 2008 If Chambers is going and this is with a view to a permanent deal then I'm pleased with it but if Chambers is staying then I don't really see the point unless he is just as good at left back as he is right
Jonezy Posted 10 July 2008 Posted 10 July 2008 Thought it was a weird signing at first, as we already have Chambers, but if he can play leftback too it makes a lot more sense. Chambers, Gilbert, Mattcok and 'a hopefully more experienced leftback yet to sign' with youngsters Cox and Beswick around the first team make the fullback positions more than well covered. Rumour of attitude problems is a slight concern, but Nige has worked with the lad before, so I'm sure he knows what he has signed. So basically we just need a leftback and our defense is more or less sorted for the season.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 10 July 2008 Posted 10 July 2008 Meh, would rather see Chambers to be honest. Have I been misinformed in believing that both can play left back as well?
lee7 Posted 10 July 2008 Posted 10 July 2008 good signing. just a bit worried about his attitude problems.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 10 July 2008 Posted 10 July 2008 good signing. i'm just a bit worried about his attitude problems. I'd think that he'd tone down his attitude having worked with Pearson before. Hopefully he'll have some respect for him.
Cheese Me Posted 10 July 2008 Posted 10 July 2008 Meh, would rather see Chambers to be honest. Have I been misinformed in believing that both can play left back as well? Chambers has played left back but by all accounts we really don't want to see him there. Can't speak for Gilbert but hopefully he can be a good addition.
