We've known that since the start of the season but the manager's done nothing about it.

same as we've known we are light in midfield

No question and I've mentioned it many times. And don't forget the strikers either. There's no serious options up front. Sooner or later we were always going to get caught short, literally.

I wish people like Ash17 and Ultra would crawl back under whatever rock they live beneath

didn't see them posting much when everything was looking Rosie

Because they simply want to have online arguments, it brings meaning to their little lives.

Pop them on ignore

It'll be very interesting to see how vocal Ultra is on Saturday (if he is still coming to the pub we drink in).

Howard, Fryatt, Campbell, Dickov is not that bad as a main 4 strikers, you cannot be carrying 6 in case of injuries can you?

I don't know where all the moaning is coming from. Yes, we could have been back in the top two last night, and yes it's an absolute bitch not winning games at any level, let alone the third division but that wasn't the last game of the season yesterday, there's still another 30-odd league games and if we carry on with the same win ratio as we've had so far we'll go up.

I'm not convinced the likes of S****horpe and Millwall will keep up their form for the season and barring a run of 5 or 6 defeats, we're still in good shape.

We need an extra right back, a different option in midfield and a striker who will take the pressure off Fryatt. That might even be Dickov or Dudley, time will tell.

It's alright saying 'get this player' or 'get that player' but we still have deadwood on the books taking up wages and until they're off-loaded in January it's unlikely that we'll be throwing money around.

In short, there's not much wrong at all, stop looking for problems and focus on the good stuff.

Hooray, about time somebody spoke some sense !!! Although we dropped to 6th, the results the other night for the other teams around us weren't so great either, so we've hardly lost touch with the top 2. We're right on track and this is a tiny blip

that was always going to occur

Hobbs was fine as a centre-back but is never going to make a right-back. No matter how often our club demonstrates that fielding people out of position doesn't work, we still go ahead and do it.

I did think Pearson was different in that respect.

I actually don't think Hobbs is that bas at right back, admittedly I missed the Northampton and Brighton game. But when he went to right back against Walsall he seemed to get forward quite well and linked up with Gradel. He also had to play there for a proportion of another game earlier in the season and he looked solid.

I'm sure he played mainly at right back at S****horpe last season as well.

I much prefer him at centre back, but as Gilbert is out injured we don't have much choice.

If we look after ourselves what the others do is not likely to matter. All the matches drawn and the one lost could have been won which is encouraging but it is daft to pretend there weren't reasons for what happened and we have to try to put them right.

Our manager and our players have demonstrated over a fair number of games that they can win and get to the top of this League but there needs to be more ruthlessness and self demand in maintaining pressure for 90 minutes and we need more quality cover to keep the side fresh, minds focused and to provide that vital touch of competition for places.

Pearson might reasonably argue that he's not had time to put all the problems right at this stage or to build a sufficiently resilient team. Despite our hiccups, what he's done so far is commendable and fairly solid. But even in victory he has to look to improve and we've not done that noticeably or consistently.

Were it my choice, training sessions would be extremely demanding now and the focus would be simple. Passing and moving at speed with one touch and two touches maximum. Anyone who couldn't cope would be on their way. Giving the ball away unnecessarily in the back two thirds of the field would be a cardinal sin and every possible effort would be made to cut it out in terms of practice and personnel.

Training wouldn't just occupy mornings. Free-kicks and individual skills practice would take up the afternoons and I would expect to see demonstable improvements because we need to put an end to sloppiness and indifference.

Just watch our finishing in the pre-match warm-ups. It's horrible. Our dead ball kicks still lack imagination and variety and we still fail to have players pushing themselves by making telling runs for themselves and for others. Playes have to make demands of themselves.

At 2-0 up you work harder still to close down and win the ball early . You don't allow a back line to retreat and try to soak up trouble. It doesn't work. It gives the opposition hope and a chance they shouldn't get. A lion doesn't toy with its prey when it pounces. It completes the kill with no offer of respite.

To be fair, I don't think we are blessed with options at RB.

Luke O'Neill did OK at Hartlepool, but it is far too early for him to take responsibility and pressure at first team level.

I don't think Pearson is playing Hobbs at RB just for the sake of it. We are very short on players in that position.

An unbelievable turn-around for a club that was recently called "Right Back United"!!!

Indeed.

Maybe we could go to MON and see if he'll lend us Osbourne, at least until Clemence is fit again.

Probably a lot more vocal then you've been during our previous encounters..

Andy King is not 1st team, we need centre mids.

Yes. We didn't use him last season and went down. This season we've used him all the time and we've been at or near the top throughout. Gradel the same. Yes, there have been other important factors but the influence of those two has still been considerable.

Yes. But there is one big difference that you fail to mention. Last year was the Championship, this year it is a division below!
