Head Honcho Posted 4 November 2008 Posted 4 November 2008 We said that about Wycombe once. .....we beat ourselves that day
filbertway Posted 4 November 2008 Posted 4 November 2008 We said that about Wycombe once. We also said it about all the lower league teams we've beaten in cup competitions over the years since
Thracian Posted 4 November 2008 Posted 4 November 2008 We also said it about all the lower league teams we've beaten in cup competitions over the years since It's not the City victories that are remembered in these situations...
Daggers Posted 4 November 2008 Author Posted 4 November 2008 Have we won this yet? Is it all over now? Hooray for our side! Woohoo!
davieG Posted 4 November 2008 Posted 4 November 2008 Nigel Pearson has named a strong line up for City's JPT quarter final clash against Rotherham United at the Don Valley Stadium. The City boss has made four changes to the side that gained a 2-1 victory over Bristol Rovers on Saturday - with Michael Morrison, Chris Powell, Nicky Adams and Barry Hayles coming in for Joe Mattock, Matty Fryatt, Max Gradel and Alex Tunchev. Elsewhere, striker Ashley Chambers is named on the bench following a spell out with a broken leg alongside Bruno Berner, Dave Martin, Mattock and Fryatt. City: Henderson, Hobbs, Kisnorbo, Morrison, Powell, Adams, Oakley, King, Dyer, Hayles, Howard. Subs: Martin, Berner, Chambers, Mattock, Fryatt.
Austin Posted 4 November 2008 Posted 4 November 2008 Right then Citeh', lets get into these Wallopers!
Matt Posted 4 November 2008 Posted 4 November 2008 Looks a good strong team! Personally i'd have liked to see Fryatt and Hayles instead of Howard and Hayles but we'll see. Nice to see Hayles starting though! (Nothing against Howard, I'm a Howard fan, but Fryatt and Hayles look good together and would like to see them start just as a trial) Now let's go and win this competition! C'MON CITY!
Mark Posted 4 November 2008 Posted 4 November 2008 Horrible forward line. Adams right wing when he excelled center mid. No Gradel as impact sub.
dandannieldanok Posted 4 November 2008 Posted 4 November 2008 Horrible forward line. Agreed, I can't see us getting much joy out of it. Can't see why he's persisting with Hobbs at right-back either, I know Gilbert's injured but surely we could have tried someone else there.
Zingari Posted 4 November 2008 Posted 4 November 2008 Who was Donald Valley and why did they name a stadium after him? he's Frankie's brother , and it seemed a good idea for 4 seasons

Not a bad line up but I'd like to have seen Tunchev playing.
Fosse Boy Posted 4 November 2008 Posted 4 November 2008 Don't the Chucklebrothers come from Rotherham? Believe so, think they gave some money to the club quite recently to aid their deep financial trouble. Apparently they didn't make that much from kids TV as Rotherham are still in deep financial trouble. Either that, or they're tight fcukers with their CBBC millions...
Jonezy Posted 4 November 2008 Posted 4 November 2008 KOM SÅ LEICESTER!!! Are we ever gonna see Levi again...?
lifted*fox Posted 4 November 2008 Posted 4 November 2008 c'mon Obama... ...I mean you Blues! interesting line-up, good to see Pearson switching this up a bit. think maybe benching Fryatt, Tunch, Mattock etc... holding onto them for the League? sweeeeeet. let's have a win city!
clazkel Posted 4 November 2008 Posted 4 November 2008 Come on you blues!!!!!! I hope Fryatt and Chambers come on up front second half to see what they can do (hopefully we will be 4-0 up by then)

Yet another game with Oakley & King in the line-up. When do they get a rest? Surley he can't keep playing these two on Saturday and next Tuesday and the following Saturday? Let's use these cup games to experiment with the fringe players.

Agreed was the perfect opportunity to give one of them a rest and bring Adams in the middle, he looked useful there on Saturday.

Its not like Oakley or King are up and down the pitch all match though is it? They're just not that sort of midfielder. I'm not sure how effective playing both big Barry and big Steve will be, hopefully get Chambers on with half an hour left...
Cat Burger Posted 4 November 2008 Posted 4 November 2008 Let's get down to business To defeat the Huns Did they send me daughters When I asked for sons? You're the saddest bunch I ever met But you can bet Before we're through Mister, I'll make a man out of you Tranquil as a forest But on fire within Once you find your center you are sure to win You're a spineless, pale pathetic lot And you haven't got a clue Somehow I'll make a man out of you I'm never gonna catch my breath Say good-bye to those who knew me Boy, was I a fool in school for cutting gym This guy's got 'em scared to death Hope he doesn't see right through me Now I really wish that I knew how to swim (Be a man) We must be swift as the coursing river (Be a man) With all the force of a great typhoon (Be a man) With all the strength of a raging fire Mysterious as the dark side of the moon Time is racing toward us till the Huns arrive Heed my every order and you might survive You're unsuited for the rage of war So pack up, go home you're through How could I make a man out of you? (Be a man) We must be swift as the coursing river (Be a man) With all the force of a great typhoon (Be a man) With all the strength of a raging fire Mysterious as the dark side of the moon (Be a man) We must be swift as the Coursing river (Be a man) With all the force of a great typhoon (Be a man) With all the strength of a raging fire Mysterious as the dark side of the moon
