I half expected the I've been a Hull fan since a young boy bull**** that you normally get in these situations ,except no one had ever heard of them until the last 2 years let alone supported them from outside a 2 mile radius of the City !

Leicester City shocked by Nigel Pearson's exit

Leicester City chief executive Lee Hoos has said former manager Nigel Pearson's departure came as a shock to the club.

Pearson signed a three-year deal to manage Hull City on Thursday and is being followed by assistants Craig Shakespeare and Steve Walsh.

Hoos told BBC Radio Leicester: "We were very surprised with the initial inquiry from Hull.

"He obviously liked what they had to offer and felt it was an appropriate time to go."

Hoos said he did not know Pearson's reasons for leaving the Foxes.

"Nigel is a very private man even with people who are close to him.

"He keeps his own counsel and his reasoning is only ever going to be known to him."

Hoos added that the Foxes would find a replacement manager as soon as possible but added it would not make a hasty appointment.

"The phone's been ringing pretty much non-stop. I think Leicester would probably be an attractive club to most people. It's a good club with a good fan base and good core squad," he said.

Nigel Pearson surprised by speed of Hull City move

New Hull City manager Nigel Pearson was surprised that Leicester City gave the Tigers permission to talk to him.

On his first day at work with the Tigers, Pearson told BBC Radio Humberside: "I think Hull were surprised as I was myself.

"But things happen quickly in football and the clubs agreed compensation quickly so there we are."

Pearson has signed a three-year contract and has brought in Craig Shakespeare as his assistant manager.

The 46-year-old former Southampton and Carlisle manager joins a club that is looking to consolidate following relegation from the Premier League but Pearson says he is not frightened of targeting a quick return to the top flight.

He said: "We want to be putting ourselves into a situation were we feel it's a realistic chance of getting back into the Premier League and it is fairly straight forward.

"If we can play good football and win great - if we have to dig in and scrap - we'll do it.

I'm confused, So the club say Nigel wanted to move on and Nigel says he was surprised leicester gave permission

Looks like Mandaric didn't want him or why even give them permission in the first place. On the other hand if he really wanted to stay he could have said no thanks as he still had a year on his contract. Something still doesn't add up we aren't getting the truth at all.

I'm surprised you're confused it sounds like typical football club / manager talk - bullshit

Makes me wonder why milan said 'I'm working tirelessly to keep Nigel Pearson at LCFC' because it's obvious that he didn't

Exactly what i thought. He sounded like he wanted to go.

On the bright side - At least we will have someone with a bit of excitement in their voice!

Sounds like he was pushed to me :dunno:

Mandaric basically sold Pearson. He forced him out of the club after a few feuds over potential transfer targets.

Its the same old shit with the Serb at the helm of our club.

Me too - just listening to his radio interview he gave to Humberside radio on the BBC website - he was VERY cagey about the details.

He really didn't sound like he was very enthusiastic at all - but then again, that's partly normal isn't it....

It allows trains to travel through Leicester. Some even stop there to let passengers on and off.

You are obviously an ill bred, uncouth , maggot brained twat, who cares nothing for history, But then, Hull has no history!

Was that in reply to Corky? Who I'm pretty confident is a Leicester fan :D

did you quote the worng post or just hate Corky

It seems evident to me that Pearson is not at fault for the move. Any other consideration is sheer bullishness. Mandaric made it impossible for him to stay.

Yeah well I wish we knew the truth, as usual the fans are left in the dark.

It'd be nice to know which way to vent my anger.

Makes me want to puke seeing him in that training top.

From this it sounds like he made the decision after hearing that we were willing to let him go for a fee.

It does appear that way, which is hugely disappointing.

Seems like if we would have told Hull to do one after their initial approach then that would have been the end of the matter.
