mancunianfox Posted 14 July 2010 Posted 14 July 2010 This will end in tears. I'm not normally pessimistic about football but I agree with this 100%.
ousefox Posted 14 July 2010 Posted 14 July 2010 Wow, haven't even looked at tthis thread for a few days and it looks like we could be taken over very soon. Don't know what to think about it to be honest. Could be good if they spend wisely and don't rip the club off, but people thinking we will have millions to spend only have to look at Cardiff to see it might not be the case. Also QPR are meant ot have the richest chairman in football aren't they? I haven't heard of many massive signings from then either......

Well there is no point spending £20m to get to the premiership if you can do it for £10m... QPR owners have run it very poorly though.
Jimbo Posted 14 July 2010 Posted 14 July 2010 This will end in tears. Tears of joy when we qualify for the champions league.............. Am I getting a bit far ahead of myself??? It's easy to get excited about this news, we've not had a decent amount of money for a very long time now, it would be nice to be involved in transfer news regarding the "bigger" names But you only have to look at Portsmouth to start seeing draw backs and feeling uneasy about it. Cardiff got their investment and yet still face going into administration, Man City's Thai billionaire brought a heap of baggage with him I think it's fair to say. Too many consortiums are now getting into football looking for a quick buck and have no real interest in the clubs stability and most in fact have no experience or insight in to how a football club works and how easily they seem to leak money
Clazie Posted 14 July 2010 Posted 14 July 2010 I was very excited when I first heard about it, but no one knows who they are? That doesn't sound good... And then Zahini is mentioned, and suddenly I want this deal to cancel as quickly as possible.

So many reports makes me think no smoke without fire but why would the club say nothing is going on unless there is actually nothing going on?

So many reports makes me think no smoke without fire but why would the club say nothing is going on unless there is actually nothing going on? The haven't said that, what they're saying is nothing has been formally agreed it's all ongoing. The Foxes have confirmed Mandaric has held talks with "a number of interested parties" but insist "no agreement has been reached".

So many reports makes me think no smoke without fire but why would the club say nothing is going on unless there is actually nothing going on? They haven't said that there is 'nothing going on', just that nothing has been finalised, i'd be very surprised if this wasn't signed and sealed within the next week.

Birmingham, Sunderland, Aston Villa, Fulham, Southampton, Chelsea , Man City . It can go either way. It's a bit silly to start tarnishing them all with the same brush before we've even seen who it is and their intentions. You've got every right to be skeptical though but fingers crossed we've got a good'un. I'd also be interested to see the terms of the deal i.e. Mandarics stake and buyout terms before I start jumping on the pessimist bandwagon. I'm guessing the full buyout would only come into place once promotion is gained for Milan to return a profit.
Tommy G Posted 14 July 2010 Posted 14 July 2010 Whats taking so long? MM: "Do you want to buy a stake in Leicester City?" Asian Consorteum: "Yes"" MM: ''Show me the money'' If it drags on waaaaaaaaay too long then we could miss out on some decent players. If people think we will be spending £25m in the summer then forget it! I would predict about £2m - £5m
goose2010 Posted 14 July 2010 Posted 14 July 2010 intresting statment that the fans will no first via thwe website....that will make a change!

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I don't want this to go through, just that as supporters we should remain on the fence for a little while and see how this goes. Approach with caution if you like, and not get too excited by it. QPR are one of the richest clubs in the world but where has that got them? And out of those clubs you mention the people in charge of Sunderland and Villa have sporting backgrounds and the people in charge at Chelsea and Man City have sooooooooooo much money that they don't care how much they lose. The clubs are just a play thing for them £100 million is just pocket change. Like I say, it's easy to get very excited by this type of news and the more excited we get the more it'll hurt when we don't get what we expect
Edmund Posted 14 July 2010 Posted 14 July 2010 If Pearson was hounded out, you've got to feel sorry for him if we do get a few mill to spend. Afterall he deserved the backing after the tremendous job he did here.

Afterall he deserved the backing after the tremendous job he did here. That's probably why he was hounded out. MM felt the club would be more marketable to potential new suitors and players with a higher profile name. i.e. one that had occasionally won the Champions League and played for Portugal 52 times. EDIT: Hope this isn't to libelous.

I am inclined to believe negotiations have been going on for months, and this consortium was involved in the selection of Sousa. I find it hard to believe he would have joined a club with any uncertainty over funding and his future. Nigel did a good job, we were all very pleased with the Playoff spot, but many had concerns over where we would go from here. Milan clearly shared those concerns, and presumably so did his potential "partners."

But I've got to admit, the speed at which the events have / are happening (Pearsons departure, Sousa coming in and us being taken over) really does look a bit dodgy.
VampLCFC Posted 14 July 2010 Posted 14 July 2010 Just this minute said on SSN, "we will bring you some news on the future of Leicester City"
VampLCFC Posted 14 July 2010 Posted 14 July 2010 Ok..... Basically just said word for word the official statement off the OS I feel a bit silly now
Mack Posted 14 July 2010 Posted 14 July 2010 After their last meeting Mandy had them followed away from the Walkers and was distraught to discover them working in the kitchens of the One Hung Low Chinese restaurant in town.
Asherz Posted 14 July 2010 Posted 14 July 2010 wow i love being a leicester supporter when theres so many that actually dont show any excitement about the takeover...... if they are investing and PS buys the right players there is noway this can go wrong we`ll be promoted they`ll invest more money the team and whole club will be worth alot more. i`m pretty sure man city fans what 10 years ago when they went to league 2 didnt start being so skeptical about there future... and look at em now

This could be the first well managed process in the history of the club!!!
Babylon Posted 14 July 2010 Posted 14 July 2010 Dodgy??? This could be the first well managed process in the history of the club!!! Well that depends on how it all ends up, and we won't know that for quite some time. I meant dodgy as in orchestrated my milan without him being honest about it, I never believed Pearson was pushed, but it's starting to look a little like that.
