FoxyPV Posted 14 July 2010 Posted 14 July 2010 It's all up when the championship dedicated Guardian has a piece on this
leftsideoverhere Posted 14 July 2010 Posted 14 July 2010 I'm working away and have no access to the internet, except on my phone, which isn't very useful really, so it's not that easy to post. But what I can say is that this takeover picked up speed today, and that's all I can say. How's Slovenia?
Bert Posted 14 July 2010 Posted 14 July 2010 It's lovely and sunny out here, the players are just having some down time at the minute before an all fitness session tonight.
leftsideoverhere Posted 14 July 2010 Posted 14 July 2010 It's lovely and sunny out here, the players are just having some down time at the minute before an all fitness session tonight. That will reassure the grumpy lot on here, who think they're enjoying all this pre-season ball work too much.
Corky Posted 14 July 2010 Posted 14 July 2010 wow i love being a leicester supporter when theres so many that actually dont show any excitement about the takeover...... if they are investing and PS buys the right players there is noway this can go wrong we`ll be promoted they`ll invest more money the team and whole club will be worth alot more. i`m pretty sure man city fans what 10 years ago when they went to league 2 didnt start being so skeptical about there future... and look at em now I'm sceptical more than anything, we don't know who these people are so we aren't sure what's going to come out of this supposed takeover. Once they are settled in and we know a bit more then we can start to feel excited/nervous/against the move with more knowledge gathered. I would love a successful takeover of the club, but I'm not going to be dancing round the house just yet.
davieG Posted 14 July 2010 Posted 14 July 2010 It's all up when the championship dedicated Guardian has a piece on this That's yesterday's news and probably what prompted today's Official Statement.
teblin Posted 14 July 2010 Posted 14 July 2010 That's yesterday's news and probably what prompted today's Official Statement. Doesn't it kind of back up the statment as it says they are close to agreeing a deal?
davieG Posted 14 July 2010 Posted 14 July 2010 Doesn't it kind of back up the statment as it says they are close to agreeing a deal? Not really considering it came out before the OS and it talks about an agreement for next week where as the OS denies they are near an agreement and that it's currently just talks. That's not to mean either statement is anywhere near the truth as we're told what they want us to know which is FA.
lcfcjim Posted 14 July 2010 Posted 14 July 2010 There is talk of these investors pulling out today - according to people on Bentleys Roof... does anyone know if there is any truth in that or are these people just shite sturring???
Ozwin Posted 14 July 2010 Posted 14 July 2010 So it's gone from an imminent takeover to pulling out in the space of 24 hours?
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 14 July 2010 Posted 14 July 2010 I wonder if Thaksin Shinawatra is head of this consortium??
foxoffderby Posted 14 July 2010 Posted 14 July 2010 Very strange, been on Bentleys and all it says is that the consortuim have disagreed with MM on something and have left. Not sure who to believe. I hope its not true I know some on here dont want these guys anyway.
Bert Posted 14 July 2010 Posted 14 July 2010 They want full control. Milan doesn't want them to have full control.
Ricey Posted 14 July 2010 Posted 14 July 2010 They want full control. Milan doesn't want them to have full control. Strange, surely they'd discussed this rather big issue before today
STUHILL Posted 14 July 2010 Posted 14 July 2010 They want full control. Milan doesn't want them to have full control. Bert does that mean the deal is off then? Or is this just a hiccup?
He's not bald Posted 14 July 2010 Posted 14 July 2010 Very strange, been on Bentleys and all it says is that the consortuim have disagreed with MM on something and have left. Not sure who to believe. I hope its not true I know some on here dont want these guys anyway. Gone!..... Saw them in Tastes at the Meridian on the way back, said the weather was crap and football was not the way forward after the world cup, they have gone to look at orange hurling in Devon apparently?
Jon the Hat Posted 15 July 2010 Posted 15 July 2010 They want full control for too little cash. Milan doesn't want them to have full control for too little cash.
HankMarvin Posted 15 July 2010 Author Posted 15 July 2010 I'm not about to sell Leicester City, vows Milan Mandaric Milan Mandaric Milan Mandaric has denied he is set to sell Leicester City and has vowed to still be the club's chairman next season. The City owner has rubbished reports that he is set to sell 49 per cent of his shares to an investment consortium from Thailand for £26million next week, with a view to handing over full control of the club at the end of the season. Mandaric has confirmed he has been holding talks with a group from the Far East and the Mercury understands those discussions continued on Tuesday night. Representatives of the investors were seen looking over the facilities at the Walkers Stadium and Belvoir Drive, but Mandaric said they were not close to signing a deal or even agreeing on what kind of relationship they would have. Mandaric would not comment on the identities of the consortium, or whether super-agent Pini Zahavi, the Israeli who brokered his sale of Portsmouth to Alexandre Gaydamak in 2006, was involved. The French businessman became co-owner of Pompey before completely taking over from Mandaric six months later. However, Mandaric did promise that he would keep the City supporters fully informed of events. "The Leicester fans will be the first ones to be told the truth," he told the Mercury. "The facts are no different than they were last week. I am having dialogue with potential investors and partners or whatever. It hasn't even been defined which way it is going to happen. "We are no closer than when I spoke last week. Nothing has changed and there is nothing to report. "The dialogue is there and there is no pressure in terms of a time-scale or whether we conclude a deal or not. "All these stories are pure speculation and are untrue. The fact is nothing has happened yet. The fans will be the first to know if it does because I want to be straight and honest with the supporters as I always have been. "The money that has been reported and the figures – I don't know where they get it from. It is all false information. "I have no idea where it comes from and to be honest we are not even talking about anything close to those kinds of details. They are creating their own information. "I will be chairman next season. We need stability and I still want to be on board and take the club where we want to go and I will be there until it happens." Mandaric has made no secret that he is looking to bring on board some financial support to ease the burden on himself. He is underwriting the club's current debt of just under £26m. The 71-year-old is also believed to want to spend more time with his family in America, although he is keen to have at least one more season to try to fulfil his pledge to get the club into the Premier League. It is likely, therefore, that he would favour a deal which paves the way to an eventual full takeover of the club, but will leave him in control for the short term. A club statement issued yesterday said: "Contrary to media reports, Leicester City Football Club wish to confirm that no agreement has been reached with any parties regarding the acquisition of the club. "Chairman, Milan Mandaric, has always maintained that he would welcome the right partner to help him move the club forward. "Discussions have taken place with a number of interested parties, but no agreement has been reached. "If any discussions with any interested parties lead to concrete agreements regarding a partnership to assist in moving the club forward, City fans will be the first to know."
davieG Posted 15 July 2010 Posted 15 July 2010 "The money that has been reported and the figures – I don't know where they get it from. It is all false information. Perhaps they got it from the same place they got the £25 mill you were said to be buying the club for - remember that? In fact some people still believe it!
Jon the Hat Posted 15 July 2010 Posted 15 July 2010 Perhaps they got it from the same place they got the £25 mill you were said to be buying the club for - remember that? In fact some people still believe it! Well I for one am pleased Milan will make a £1m profit. Oh yes.
Candidcamera Posted 15 July 2010 Posted 15 July 2010 So much for the story I read where it said the consortium had a hand in appointing Sousa. It' s all a bit like Chinese wispers.
Ric Flair Posted 15 July 2010 Posted 15 July 2010 I am actually pleased that Mandaric isn't looking to fook the club off to any old soldier straight the way. You can say what you like about him and want a complete takeover so he's out of the club, but it's better the devil you know in these cases and if Milan is sticking around and not giving up the reigns at the first opportunity then fair enough to the chap. I hope he has our best interests at heart as well as his own, it would be nice if he could get us a cash injection, but if investors are only interested in a complete takeover and they are complete unknowns then it's a very careful NO from me right now.

Nice if you believe it Ric, but no matter how hard I try I just can't trust the guy. To me this just says not enough cash has been put on the table which in itself is not a problem as I recognise he's a businessman first and an LCFC last. It's all his double talk and smoke-screening I don't like which he's been doing since he first appeared on the LCFC horizon.
davieG Posted 15 July 2010 Posted 15 July 2010 From Bentley's About the takeover... Seems like the national news channels are taking it seriously. Showed loads of pics of Milan after his tax fraud court hearing! Not sure if I understood correctly, but it seems one of these Thai Businessmen is an owner of a football club in the Thai Premier League!

I Think Portsmouth said the same thing when Mandaric left them, firstly selling a proportion to Alexander Guydemark (probably spelt incorrect). I know there were slightly different circumstances and at the end of the day you can't say oh look at porstmouth now -so we are going to end up in financial ruin the same. The point i am trying to make is that is doesn't matter how long you speak to a buyer or how long he sticks around whilst they own a proportions of the club, at the end of the Day that buyer, no matter what "promises" have been made to mandaric about what will happen when he leaves, when the club is in someones hands its their baby and they'll do what they like. I am sure he has the best intentions and is trying to minimise the risk to the club of being taken over by any tom, Rich of Harry, but there is never any guarantees. And no matter what people say - at the end of the Day Mandaric is a business man. I do believe he has done a fantastic job of creating a stable financial platform for someone to take over and build on, but if he gets the right price to maximise his profits then he will take it. Fact. Miltonfox
