Nick Posted 28 October 2010 Posted 28 October 2010 Right. I have one of these and it really is great though I thought initially they appeared pointless. This is the thread for all things iPad - I'll get the ball rolling I have the 3G one although do not yet have a card for it so am just using it with wifi. a Any advice out there on data suppliers for 3G use? Also best apps and ibooks in here please. Smashing. And on that note anybody got insurance? Who else has one of these? N.
davieG Posted 28 October 2010 Posted 28 October 2010 I'm still working out how to use this do the iPad Apps work on it? Edit - just found the latest version
purpleronnie Posted 28 October 2010 Posted 28 October 2010 I was offered one at work but turned it down, I guess I could have given it someone, not sure what I was thinking, was offered an I-Phone too but turned that down as well. mmm what an idiot.

purpleronnie Posted 28 October 2010 Posted 28 October 2010 Yep, I don't know why I turned it down TBH, I think I thought at the time it was only going to be loaned to me but turns out it wasn't, I hate Mobile phones so I declined that offer anyway, not sure why I turned the i-Pad down.
hairy Posted 28 October 2010 Posted 28 October 2010 I want one to control my Sonos system but the price is way too high. The price of apps is too much too £6 for angry birds rather than 60p on the touch!

Jackirius Posted 26 December 2010 Posted 26 December 2010 Is there sites on the internetz for watching movies on the iPad? Illegally I mean Just look for online movie streams, ipad is no different to other computers so shouldn't have difficulty.
hairy Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 I have one now and soon the world will be mine I tell you!
Zingari Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 i think the missus misunderstood what i wanted for christmas
Matt Posted 29 December 2010 Posted 29 December 2010 Are these worth it? It took me a while to get an iPhone are iPads just a big iPhone without the phone (although I'm sure there would be an app to download). I have a good working laptop, so don't see the need for one, however was thinking of getting one in Dubai duty free.
Unabomber Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 I know this is a pretty intense bump and I had to think hard about the statement "Unless you're sure you want to reply, please consider starting a new topic." But I went ahead anyway. Does anyone have one? I recently got an air 2 and want to maximise it's capabilities, like good apps etc. I also want to know how to add things like adblock on chrome etc.

Only 2 apps I use at the minute are scrabble and GTA: San Andreas. The latter is well worth £4.99
Rocket-Ron Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 I have a iPad. I read foxestalk on it. That is all
Buce Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 My daughter keeps nagging me for one: she has a laptop and a smart phone - what does this offer that she doesn't already have?
MooseBreath Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Don't have an ipad but do have a tablet. Good for portability, some touch screen games are better on the larger screen, it's convenient for quick browsing and also 'social' browsing ie showing people stuff. Apart from that it's pretty pointless. Still use my laptop and phone about 30x more. Definitely wouldn't waste my money on an ipad when you can get solid tablets from other manufacturers for about a quarter of the price.
Guest seanfox778 Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 I have an iPad Air 2 3G and I love it, Goat Simulator is an awesome game, just for the novelty of seeing life through the eyes of a goat (I know you're intreiged, YouTube it). Photon is a good app £2.99 for a browser but you can use flash player on it so you can stream games. Sky Go is also brilliant, especially as I don't have Sky I just use my aunties code so I get all the Sky Sports games and stuff. Also good for Netflix and reading books too. Camera is also decent, I just never have it when there's a good photo opportunity (anywhere outside).
DB11 Posted 9 January 2015 Posted 9 January 2015 Until you get one you just don't realise how useful they are and how much you'd use it. I was skeptical but then I bought one and now I use it all the time. I have the wifi + data iPad Air and I use it for web browsing, social networking, messaging, and I use it for all of my note taking (Pages) at Uni. It's also good to have for presentations to refer to rather than loads of paper. It's also a better screen than a phone for watching either TV (Sky Go, iPlayer etc.) or videos, either downloaded or ones you've put on. Plus now I've got Apple TV so I can mirror it to my TV etc
