It's not a bad signing by any shout, Sven knows the guy and seemed to get him scoring at the highest level despite the fact he couldn't at club level. Our squad lacks depth, people have been crying out for a striker to sign (ok a big one has been the main shout, but its still another potentially credible striker) and we're inside the window which makes any signing difficult.

The guy should have something to prove, will have lived in the area/region before and will hopefully prove a number of people wrong. Put it this way - he can't be any worse than Jason Roberts or DJ Campbell can he?

I'm not looking for Iniesta, Xavi or Alonso, but I do expect a professional player in the Championship to able to pass a ball 10 yards to a teammate 99/100 times, so you keep encouraging and fostering the mediocrity :chant:

If we had players that could pass the ball 10yards 99/100 times to a team mate we would be TOP OF THE PREM you talk crap!

So you're saying that if the club drop below 'your' standards, then we should just stop supporting them?

What about everyone playing from League 1 to Sunday Leagues, and the fans who support them? They should all just stop as they're not world class?

I don't think i'm a "better fan" than you, just much more realistic. I don't see how we're supposed to sign top players who'd perform any better than what we have now, in our position.

Not jizzing my pants over this signing but I'll give him a chance. If he's still got a bit of pace then he'll be useful, at least he'll actually play up front under Sven's 442, whereas Sousa would have had him playing left wing or something.

A short and (once) pacey striker is not what we need, imo.

It's a weird one, he could be god awful but he could also be lethal and bang in 30 goals this season. Guess we'll have to wait and see. Age isn't on his side though.

Surely mid-30s is where age becomes a factor. Look at the greats of the current game like scholes, still great way past 30.

Yeah I mean I won't write him off and boo or anything, he could do well, but I find it very hard to believe that Vassell would make a massive difference as oppose to Davies and Naughton, who in their first match did. :dunno:

if he is only coming in on a short term deal then who cares?! we are now in a situation where we can take a gamble like like this.

he may turn out to be a flop or a "find of the season"

lets have some faith in Sven in the meantime.

to everyone that thinks they could sign better players or know that he is rubbish. Get your coaching badges, work your way up the lower leagues, get appointed at city THEN prove us how right u are! before that happens leave the signings to sven and his team and support the club and ALL its players! :scarf:
