ajthefox Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 Is it not time we changed it? Oakley has done a job but has never really been a figurehead and isn't really a leader on the pitch either. King's coming into his own this season and although he occasinally goes missing, when he plays well we tend to get a result and he has the kind of passion that is required, plus he will be playing regularly unlike Oakley who is going to be playing less and less. I suppose King is quite young though, and looking at our most common matchday squad, especially now with the loanees, I'm finding it hard to make a case for anyone else. But still, I think for many the appointment of Sven has been a turning point, maybe we should further that and change the captaincy officially. Thoughts?
Tommy G Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 I'd love to see Logan get the nod, he's really stepped him game up this season. He's a great influence on and off the pitch but more so off the pitch.
Captain... Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 King is the only real choice. At the start of the season I would have said Hobbs or Berner, but now neither of them are guaranteed a starting place. Fryatt is our longest serving player but not really captain material, I don't see Howard as a long term captain either, especially with Bednar coming he is not going to be an ever present, to be honest I'm not sure why King lost it after captaining us to a couple of good wins. Another candidate would have been Weale (Goalie Keepers are often a safe bet as they first on the teamsheet) but his place is now looks to be under threat. Wellens would be a possibility but he seems like a bit of a dick off the pitch and he is probably next on Sven's chopping block. Maybe he will sign someone in January with captaincy specifically in mind.
ozleicester Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 One man has all the qualities required... cool in a crisis,.. stylish.... confident.. instantly recognisable with fans... international presence... Yann Kermogant is the man for the job
Trav Le Bleu Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 Give it to Naughton. We can always change in January.
Corky Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 Filbert's been there through everything, never misses a game and is popular with the fans. Should be his. If not then Andy King.
Ashley Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 IF we manage to sign Curtis Davies on a permanent dealn, I would have him as my captain, other option would be Jack Hobbs.
Wymsey Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 Yes King or Davies, both nice and know how to instruct other players.
ousefox Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 King, Leicester through and through Is he really though?
Wymsey Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 Is he really though? He committed himself to the club for another 4 years so i presume so?
Shamomoa Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 King all the way!!!! If only we could have a team of king's! now that team would be unbeatable!!
Trav Le Bleu Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 Is he really though? You have some secret insider information that states otherwise? I think we need El Empty to crack this conspiracy!
Kitchandro Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 King or Wellens. Only concern with King is he's not the most vocal, something I've always liked about Wellens. Not always that important though.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 Give it to Crncic, he hasnt put a foot wrong since he has been here.

DB11 Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 I think it's too early for King. He may become complacent also. I wouldn't mind Hobbs or Davies.
