Why does this emoticon assume an unhappy face :dunno: ?

You can be happy in a state of uncertainty can't you?

It doesn't look happy it looks confused. Like if you think "i dunno" you sort of move your mouth slanty

I have just got a I phone 6 as a work phone and now have a 5s knocking about which I dont really need to use, what are my options? The carrier is EE.

I have a quote from EE it will cost £237 to pay off the remainder of my contract. I am thinking of putting the 5s on Ebay as it will fetch between £200-£250 as its in mint condition, no scratches at all. Then use the proceeds to pay off my contract? Unless someone on here wishes to make me an offer :)

Do I need to unlock beforehand?

Does your employer have to grant any remaining holiday if you hand in your notice, or is it dependant on whether they want to or not? Not relevant yet, but just wondered for future reference whether anybody has encountered a similar situation.

I'm not sure they are obliged to grant you any holiday during your notice period.  Different companies have different holiday policies.  It might be beneficial to them to allow you the holiday, as they will required to pay you any outstanding holiday you have accrued during your period of employment on leaving their employment.  You will not 'lose' your holiday entitlement.  They will either have to let you take the holiday or pay you for any holiday not taken.

Check your contract/ policies - no legal obligation but many still pay it.

Having a tooth removed next Tuesday. What's the feeling like after anaesthetic wears off? Much pain?

When i had my tooth taken out i tanked myself up with ibuprofen and paracetamol before the anaesthetic wore off. Shouldnt cause you too much trouble.

I will be doing this on monday as im having a root canal done. Ive never had one so im expecting it to hurt like hell even with the anaesthetic

You should be able to unlock it through EE, probably for free. It was one of Apple's stipulations when they ended the exclusivity deal with O2 I believe. I did it a couple of years ago with Vodafone to stick a foreign simcard in there.

As for the contract, I'm presuming the £237 is just the cost of the remaining monthly payments? Some companies let you downgrade while still in contract so you could try that just to reduce the monthly payments. Also, if you get a price rise from a mobile company while in contract you have 30 days to cancel it penalty free. You could hang on and hope they do a price rise at some point. It tends to be an annual thing in the landline/broadband/TV world but I'm not so sure about mobile. The worst that would happen is you just pay the monthly amount until your contract ends which is probably the same as the early disconnection fee anyway.

Probably do the same. And will have a big meal beforehand cos no doubt I'll go hungry and not be able to eat for a few hours after!

I've shied away from a root canal because of cost and experiences of pain from what people have told me. But now it's got to the stage where root canal can't be done and tooth has to be removed. Lucky it's right at the back of my mouth!

I've always found Nurofen + to be the best thing to take post dental surgery. You need the codeine (for pain) and well as the ibuprofen (to reduce inflammation). You really shouldn't take it for more than 4 days, though.

lol  I don't think eating a large meal before receiving large quantities of prospective pain is a very good idea.

I'm thinking of quitting my job and starting a restaurant (when we get to Lusaka).

Has anyone else quit a job and done what they enjoyed doing?

Should I just be a slave to the man?

Yeah, about 7 years ago. Do it.
