How did they know which stadium to take the 6 nations trophy to? Just 5 minutes before Ireland lifted it in Edinburgh, England were driving for a try that would, if converted, result in them being champions in London.

Bit late on this but they had the real one at Twickenham and a replica at Murrayfield

Random question. Do you have to pay a "monthly line rental" when the only thing you want is broadband?

Might be a stupid question.

No, most students don't for example. Don't think there's many companies that offer it though, but Virgin do.

Anyone know a lot about cars? Which is better Audi A3, Golf, or Astra will be looking at at least 1.6l and budget of about £6k.

Don't really know in terms of specs etc but Golfs are sh1t hot and would get one if I could afford too

Golf is my choice atm then Audi, prob gonna forget the astra unless someone provides a great reason to get one.

Someone I used to work with had an Astra estate. Backend used to slide about all over the place and it'd skid everywhere, great fun but lethal.

How expensive are sciroccos? They look fantastic.

Gawd yes, they're only a grand or two more at each engine size than the comparative golf(where applicable), so I'd imagine the price difference wouldn't be too huge on the used market.  That said there must a hell of a lot more golfs on the used market than sciroccos so that would push the price down a fair bit if correct.

Does anyone know of anywhere that transfers VHS to DVD? i have loads of old video tapes. I do have players but do not use them. I went in the shop on Hotel Street near Macs. They quoted £20. I only have one that I consider urgent. A video of a wake of an old friend took a few years back. He was a Leicester poet and tutor. There were a few readings and Sue Townsend was there.

the majority of the other tapes are just films and old TV programs.

Thanks. i have been looking and found that you can buy cable converters that do it to a PC. Not sure if it will work on a laptop or an older version of Windows. XP I will look for the shops as well. watched a video on how to do it with a dual machine.. American but it seems easy enough.

The one I want doing most is a homemade one. If i can connect a VHS player to my laptop I could save it on my hard drive.

It was just a though. I have to do a lot of clearing out and i have about 200 tapes. Also have a few cassettes. Most are nt worth keeping. Recordings of The Golden Hour from Radio one a few years back. Not high quality.

It's really not that hard to download film and tv off the web, virtually anything you can think of is there.

I'm 6 months into a phone contract with one provider, and my dad is just finishing his contract with his own. I'm with TalkTalk mobile and they only allow 2 handsets per family which my mum and I have taken up. I want the new phone my dad gets probably from Tesco which has 4G unlike my current phone in the contract.

Is there a way of switching the phone numbers from one sim card to the other so that I can use the 4G phone on my dad's contract but with my number and he can use my phone with his number on my contract?

Christ that's complicated  lol

Not without going through the network, and I would guess that they'd want you to pay off your existing contract.

It would be basically you taking out a contract with Tesco and wanting to transfer your number so you'd need the special code from TalkTalk to give to Tesco to get it done, and TalkTalk would only oblige if you paid off your contract.

I know on the Three network you can change who is responsible for the contract (but you have to pay for it) so maybe your dad could take over your contract and you take out a new one with Tesco? But then I don't think that would resolve your mobile number issue....

Yeah I reckon I'll just get a new contract and he'll have to put up with having my old number!
