Master Fox Posted 21 January 2011 Posted 21 January 2011 Vassell, Henry, Yak, Heskey Or Howard, Fryatt, Waghorn, Bednar....... hmmmm......
Petchy Posted 21 January 2011 Posted 21 January 2011 Haha, you caught me off guard as I normally just ignore those comments!
ibbosuk Posted 21 January 2011 Posted 21 January 2011 With Darren Bent moving to Villa this week, it seems that Heskey no longer figures in Houllier's plans there. Word reaches me that Sven has sussed this and will make a move next week to bring Emile back to Leicester. Let's just say it's a lot more likely to happen than the Given or Henry deals! Watch this space.. Word reaches me that this is an obvious assumption, that we all have made. Watch this space......
cc_star Posted 21 January 2011 Posted 21 January 2011 Now all I need to be sure is Bert to confirm it. Wonder if they'll be a different outcome to his wink & nudge over Shay Given?
cc_star Posted 21 January 2011 Posted 21 January 2011 I love how whenever we're linked with someone 30+, the answer is always 'legs gone' When have Heskey / Vieira / Beckham etc ever relied on their pace and acceleration as part of their game? Never. So you've never seen Heskey play then?
Babylon Posted 21 January 2011 Posted 21 January 2011 Wonder if they'll be a different outcome to his wink & nudge over Shay Given? He didn't really wink or nudge anything, he just posted the odds. People read too much into his posts and forget he is also a normal person who likes posting on these boards. Not everything he says has to have another meaning to it.
Socks Posted 21 January 2011 Posted 21 January 2011 would be nice to see him back but do we need him now we have vassell and the yak ?? we should be looking at another midfielder and defender
Petchy Posted 21 January 2011 Posted 21 January 2011 So you've never seen Heskey play then? If your trying to say that he has relied on those qualities, then shame on you. He's a creator/target man who holds the ball up and provides for the other striker. Whenever he has tried to accelerate, well, we all saw the results... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPKmqspkoXo
Tommy G Posted 21 January 2011 Posted 21 January 2011 I was waiting for someone to post the algeria video! Heskey can stay at Villa - no thank you!
teblin Posted 21 January 2011 Posted 21 January 2011 Or this video of him playing well. People only see what they want to. http://www.youtube.com/embed/toeSHvfxuL8
Ric Flair Posted 21 January 2011 Posted 21 January 2011 I was waiting for someone to post the algeria video! Heskey can stay at Villa - no thank you! Yakubu would score unbelievable amounts of goals at this level alongside Emile. Infact i'm pretty sure that most teams would write to the Football League and try and have us banned if we fielded a front 3 of Heskey, Yakubu and Vassell.

Ha ha ha... that front three would be ludicrous.
Petchy Posted 21 January 2011 Posted 21 January 2011 Or this video of him playing well. People only see what they want to. http://www.youtube.com/embed/toeSHvfxuL8 Bit unfair really, as I have made it clear that I like him as a player. I was just saying that he doesn't rely on his acceleration etc, as when he tries to do it, it doesn't pay off.

You've never seen Emile accelerate into the channels then, to get to the ball before the defender? That's why he's such a successful target man.

Jackirius Posted 21 January 2011 Posted 21 January 2011 We will lose a bit of revenue from Blue Brett boycotting if we did sign Heskey though... I'll believe it when I see it, especially as Carew has just gone out on loan.

The only reason they delayed it was because of Heskeys suspension.
Fox You Forest Posted 21 January 2011 Posted 21 January 2011 Ah, so this is what you're doing on your phone all the time.
muzzy1981 Posted 21 January 2011 Posted 21 January 2011 Carew going means Heskey is key for villa. Anyhow we have plenty of experience with the Yak and Vassel. Like to see us loan a wonderkid the prem Guidetti or Borini? I would say Waggy fits the descritption but reckon he needs be loaned out to get a run a team, to get his confidence back, ain't going to happen sitting on our bench.

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 21 January 2011 Posted 21 January 2011 Still got enough about him to be an excellent player at this level. Don't think a return would tarnish any memories.
Webbo Posted 21 January 2011 Posted 21 January 2011 He was never that prolific at his peak. We don't really need him now we've got Yakubu. Hope there's nothing in this.

He did score 23 goals in his first season at liverpool though.... other than that nothing substantial...
