The Year Of The Fox Posted 12 May 2011 Posted 12 May 2011 This is gonna go tits up IMO. It could well turn out to be a do or die situation next season. Not for sven, but for the club
Callabinho Posted 12 May 2011 Posted 12 May 2011 fook it then Lloris Azpeliqueta Kompany Sackho Filipe Sergio Busquets Ganso Benega Javier Pastore Alexis Sanchez Romelu Lukaku. That should win the championship
ithuriel Posted 12 May 2011 Posted 12 May 2011 This will most probably help to increase season ticket sales, shirt sales etc., and if some nice signings come in create a buzz in the city about the football club. After a century and a quarter of limited investment in the club it is like waking up to find a hot babe has brought you breakfast in bed and with the news you have won the lottery and never have to work again , i think most though are awaiting the alarm clock to ring and to find they have overslept and the boss has rang saying he is going to do certain things to you when you get in
Callabinho Posted 12 May 2011 Posted 12 May 2011 This is gonna go tits up IMO. It could well turn out to be a do or die situation next season. Not for sven, but for the club As long as sven is sensible then we will be fine, we moan when we have no money and moan when we have it, don't forget with money sven has always done well! he is a world class manager, he isn't stupid he knows exactly what we need, and he has the strings to pull to get it done! Have faith!
Babylon Posted 12 May 2011 Posted 12 May 2011 Of course there is a limit. This is exactly the same as the quotes coming out when he first arrived. He said back then no limit had been set because they hadn't had that type of discussion. They will back what he wants within reason, A mixture of the way it's reported (not like the Merc/Radio Leicester to hype things hey) and his Svenglish makes it seem like we are some kind of Man City.
sphericalfox Posted 12 May 2011 Posted 12 May 2011 i think we have a contender for a new song for the players entrance? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFd5Cci_pE4 Sponsored by smiley faces :) :) :)
whitlock Posted 12 May 2011 Posted 12 May 2011 Yeah lets just go and let all the clubs that we've got dollar, so they can rinse us more than they would...
MrSpaM Posted 12 May 2011 Posted 12 May 2011 I hear a guy called Javier Hernández is doing quite well at Man U at the moment
21st Century Fox Posted 12 May 2011 Posted 12 May 2011 I think people are taking 'no limits' a bit out of context, it doesn't mean an endless pot but more like if Sven needs a player that'll push the budget over £12 million as apposed to the mystical £10 million then the Thais will push to that, within reason.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 12 May 2011 Posted 12 May 2011 There is one line that leaps... sorry LEAPS... out at me from that whole article. It's this. "If we were a Premier League club we would have much more money and you can't get very good Premier League players to come to the Championship, so we have to look everywhere for targets." Tons of mullah is one thing. The glamour of playing Doncaster, Barnsley and Millwall is something else.

ajthefox Posted 12 May 2011 Posted 12 May 2011 Doesn't mean there isn't actually a limit to what they can spend though, just that they haven't given it to Sven because they probably want to back him in what he does properly as oppose to just telling him he's got x million to spend however the hell he wants to. It's nice to see but I still think you're going to be sadly mistaken if you think there's going to be 3 million on Tom, 4 million on Dick and another 2.5 on Harry. I personally think there will be one potentially big signing worth a few million, a few around a million, probably less, and then maybe a couple frees/loans. Just seen what TLB posted as well and totally agree, hence why I've suggested most of our signing won't be that big, glamorous or lucrative.
rams r4 sh*ggin Posted 12 May 2011 Posted 12 May 2011 Why do the owners feel too good to be true? im almost certain its the silent 20% stake owner working on behalf of a wealthy family giving the go ahead for a spending spree.
ScouseFox Posted 12 May 2011 Posted 12 May 2011 This summer isn't going to be boring, that's for sure. Bring it on, go get 'em Svennis.
FoxyPV Posted 12 May 2011 Posted 12 May 2011 PVA as a winger instead of a defender would be an improvement. I don't understand why clubs annouce this as it means that we end up paying over the odds for players - see Waghorn.
Adster Posted 12 May 2011 Posted 12 May 2011 I don't care what Sven does, as long as he builds and gels a good solid championship team over the summer, and if that means signing 35 premier league cast offs or lower league players then I couldn't care less. I'm just worried about the amount of spending we could potentially be doing, and the money it'll cost the club if we don't get promoted next season
Ozwin Posted 12 May 2011 Posted 12 May 2011 I reckon that silent investor is that dodgy Thai bloke who was at Man City.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 12 May 2011 Posted 12 May 2011 I would ahve kept it quiet that we have all this money, teams will just want more for players now surely? I remember we had a lot of money once before, and we signed players like Matt Jones for £3.5 million.
Collymore Posted 12 May 2011 Posted 12 May 2011 He was a good player though, just unlucky with injury.
21st Century Fox Posted 12 May 2011 Posted 12 May 2011 I reckon that silent investor is that dodgy Thai bloke who was at Man City. Or its Iman Arif of Cronus Sports Management Pte Ltd which was announced months agos.
Dan Posted 13 May 2011 Posted 13 May 2011 fook it then Lloris Azpeliqueta Kompany Sackho Filipe Sergio Busquets Ganso Benega Javier Pastore Alexis Sanchez Romelu Lukaku. That should win the championship I know a game you might like.
