Thanks for this recommendation. Enjoying (well, as much as you can imagine) watching this. Very interesting and informative.

Can't help but see bits of history repeating itself.

EDIT: The cops cheering on their buddies going into the court house on the day of the verdict. "Hang in there buddy!". **** sake.

The violence in this one at times is really ****ing hard to stomach tbh.

Quote

From Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Fisher Stevens and Academy Award®-winning actor, environmental activist and U.N. Messenger of Peace Leonardo DiCaprio, Before the Flood presents a riveting account of the dramatic changes now occurring around the world due to climate change, as well as the actions we as individuals and as a society can take to prevent the disruption of life on our planet. Beyond the steps we can take as individuals, the film urges viewers to push their elected officials in supporting the use of alternative energy sources such as solar and wind power. “We need everyone to demand bold action from their political leaders and to elect representatives who have their best interests at heart, not the interests of corporations to perpetuate a cycle of greed and destruction,” says DiCaprio. “This documentary shows how interconnected the fate of all humanity is — but also the power we all possess as individuals to build a better future for our planet.

DiCaprio is brilliant in this very inspiring documentary about the realities of climate change.

Really astounding where we're headed and utterly devastating that the so called 'leader of the free world' doesn't believe it's an issue. s14.gif

Anybody watched The Keepers on Netflix? Absolutely harrowing series, brilliantly done.

Also watched Louis Theroux's Scientology Movie last night. Now want to watch the documentary they made about him. lol

If you liked that watch Going Clear.

Again about scientology but far better. Louis attempt was pretty good but he was hindered a lot and no where near as good as his other work.

Going Clear is really dark and more informative.

What is even better is Jenna Miscaviges book Beyond Belief. She is the daughter of the head wack job david Miscaviges. I tell you the book will bring a tear to your eye.

Has anyone seen the documentary about Carlos Kaiser?

Basically made a living out of being a footballer over a decade, but never played a game.

Duped some huge South American clubs into signing him.

Heard Tim Vickery talking about him, but can't find the film anywhere.

Makes Conrad look like an amateur.

The owner of one of his clubs was a drug lord, feared all across South America.

He phoned the bench and told the manager to bring on his new signing.

Fearing he'd be found out, he jumped into the stand and punched a fan, earning a red card.

The owner was furious, Carlos told him that the fan was slagging off the owner and had to defend his honour.

Got him a new contract with a pay rise

That's quite a story!

Actually might look into this lol.

I'm intrigued to know, what happened after that, obviously the Boss would still want to see him play, and how it all ended.

For anyone whos a fan of "Senna" make sure you check out "Gonchi" - it's the same style but about the late Gonzarlo Rodriguez. If you're into motor racing or want another similar and decent/interesting story of a South American driver who was pretty talented - but also tragically taken from this world early - then you'll enjoy - it was on Netflix so im sure it's still there
