Trav Le Bleu Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 Everyone likes Adele don't they? So why do I think she's a soulless, bland, waste of space. And what about those Transformers movies, eh? A universal hit, the fastest selling francise since Fast and the Furious or Pirates of the Caribbean, adored by millions, they favourite all-time best ever of a great many people. All these leave me cold and I could actually sleep through them. Reality TV - What a phenomena! Who hasn't watched at least one whole series of BB or I'm a Celeb? Me. Dan Brown books are bestsellers before he writes them and yet I wish I could get back the hours of my life wasted reading the Da Vinci Code. Apparently books written by Katie Price are also very popular. I've come to the decision that I'm not normal. (I also support a football team that a great many locals don't support. They would rather support Man Utd - so again... not normal.)

Always loved Transformers as a kid, ive not seen the newest film yet, but the second one certainly was a massive let down and pretty pants. Reality TV?......Id rather dip my tesicles in dolphin blood, then dip them in to the Amazon and let a pack of hungry pirhanas tear in to them. Its things like reality TV and Katie price and the current state of popluar 'music' that are turning our future generations in to brain dead chav runts with no thought other than what granny to rob from on pension day. Dan Brown - over hyped and trawls on a tad to much for me.
davieG Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 Adele - Who is she Transformers - Used to use them when I worked in Engineering Design Reality TV - What's real about it Dan Brown - I've read better I'll add Harry Potter - Just not interested. I thought it was to do with being old not weird or is that the same thing?
Houdini Logic Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 None of the above was weird until you decided to write a thread about it

danlcfc4ever Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 Mate you're not weird, its just that the world is ****ed!
Fox92 Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 I suppose I might be a bit like you... On the music front, I don't like Adele's music. I'm into stuff such as The Beatles (John Lennon is my hero), The Who, The Rolling Stones, The Jam, David Bowie, Bob Dylan etc which is far different from everyone else around my age. I find that its people that mainly play instruments that admire and look upto this type of music and these specific artists. They appriciate it more. Instead, people I know are in to artists I've never heared of. I only ever hear that type of music if I go out around town or something and I still don't like it or get into it but its just on (you know what its like when your out and all that). I also don't like films, I haven't even wasted my time watching most of these 'awesome' films. I can't remember the last time I went to the cinema (although I do usually get chucked out if I go with friends). I have watched Pirates of the Caribbean though (mainly because of Keira Knightly who's not in the new one ) However, people I know will talk about these movies all the time etc I haven't got a clue most of the time. I don't bother with reality TV either. I do like I'm a Celebrity though, but thats about it. You'll always find a bird goes in the program (Kayla Collins etc ) In fact I don't even watch that Family Guy or the bloody Simpsons stuff. I collect comedy DVDs and watch them instead, all the time. I've got stuff like Only Fools, The Good Life, Fawlty Towers, My Family, Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em etc. These programs I find really funny and I think I have a different sense of humour to most people. Haven't got a clue with Da Vinci code. I don't even read books. Last time I read a book good and proper was on a flight to Florida and on a 7 hour flight, its either read a book, watch a dopey film, go to sleep etc It's not as if I could have walked to the shops or something. And, yeah, I support Leicester which is different to everyone (apart from the rest of my family, and a few other people that have moved from Leicestershire). Most people support Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday with some supporting Leeds and Nottingham Forest. Then, the rest support Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal or Liverpool. I might be different from most people my age but I don't care. I'm very laid back, and I don't care what people think of my activities and views anyway. -- The World would be terrible if everyone was the same, liked the same and did the same. I forgot to add .. Nothing you mentioned is wierd.
Samilktray Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 I want to make love to Adele, hate the Transformers films, dont like reality TV and I've never read the Da Vinci Code.

Darkon84 Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 If anyone mentions 'The Only Way is Essex', I might spontaneously combust. That pathetic excuse for a television show or 'entertainment' makes a little bit of sick come up in to my mouth. damn, I just brought it up myself....
Zingari Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 This actually made me spit my coffee back into the cup. Spitting coffee back into a cup is quite weird . You don't seem weird to me , but then again, maybe I'm weird and your propensity to weirdness just seems normal to me .
dave the caveman Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 I always say pop music is music for people who don't like music. The same applies elsewhere too. Everything you posted is lowest common denominator garbage. It's art made purely for profit and everything about it is aimed squarely at those most likely to pay for it, ie impressionable fools who have no knowledge of the art form but are easily persuaded to purchase by slick marketing. Idiots, in other words, or else people who just aren't interested in general. It would only be weird to me if this ultra-commercial cross section of pop culture was as far as you'd delved into the respective art forms, and you were therefore writing the whole thing off based on one terrible example, much like people who claim that modern music is crap despite their only exposure to modern music being what they hear on Top40 FM, or whatever. To me that's weird. It's like eating a diet consisting exclusively of potatoes and then claiming that all of the world's food is bland.

Personally I don't like Adele that much but I respect how incredibly talented she is, especially in today's climate of mass produced trash. This is downright insulting and I doubt you could even come close to having 10% of the talent she does.

Wymsey Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 I like getting up in the morning to watch the Jeremy Kyle show most days and Deal or No Deal after a long day.. Me weird then? None rhetorical question Agree about Adele, her songs are too downbeat.
lcfcadam Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 Adele is a fvcking disgrace to music. In relative terms, this is a pretty ridiculous comment. For a start, absolutely everything else in the current top 20 is far, far worse. Just because people might consider her songs generic, downbeat, unoriginal etc doesn't mean she lacks genuine musical talent / ability. That is more than can be said for the rest of the pure hideousness heading the charts at the moment...
Finnegan Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 I'm sorry, but I long ago established myself as the president of the "Adele is a talentless, rancid, dogfaced biffa" club.
