Cropwellfox Posted 10 September 2011 Posted 10 September 2011 10 games, 12 at the most is all Sven deserves. If we have less than 20 points after a total of 12 games, he should go. That is being generous too as I expect that will be outside of the POs. I fully agree unlike many others. and i can't understand what's with the vitriol that people questionning Sven are getting. Again today there's evidence of his not seeing the most basic things that this division will be decided on. The job Tony Mowbray has done at Boro bears comparison to Sven, and measuring the performance of both clubs from the end of the January 2011 transfer window is worth seeing: LCFC 36 points from 24 games. MFC 46 from 25 Given the level of support and investment Sven has had my belief is that this is a very poor return. I don't see any signs of this team 'coming together', and there are plenty of other managers currently in the championship i would rather we had. It's not about the big names and the flash history in this league, it's about setting a team up to be effective and consistent. We look neither and rarely have done for more than 10 minute spells this year. We certainly have the players to go up. Very questionable whether we have a management set-up to do it though.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 10 September 2011 Posted 10 September 2011 I think people need to realise that we won't win every game and we are the team to beat this season along with west ham. we have 8 points and are 10th after 6 games. Derby are 5th, Palace are 8th, Reading are 22nd but not like they will finish there! Sacking a manager is not an option!
One Arm Babba Posted 10 September 2011 Posted 10 September 2011 i'm in Ireland so no Radio Leicester for me. I don't look at the post match stuff because of things like this. Everyone is entitled to there opinion, i'm cool with that. I just don't find the criticism constructive. We need to get behind the team and let them settle in. I don't like the idea of changing things so drastically after 6 games. and the negativity will only make life more difficult for the players. The owners have let Sven spend considerable money and are hardly going to sack him so soon after. Give them time and we will get going. Brighton won with a last minute winner today at Bristol. If they had only drew 0-0 with Bristol would they have been calling for changes? Flip that, and had we got a last minute winner, would this thread even be here? if we win are next game then 7pts from 3 games is a good return, promotion form if you like.

They managed to grind out a result, something good teams do. We arent capable of doing that at the moment.
Langston Posted 10 September 2011 Posted 10 September 2011 Carl Robinson, has to be. I also met him once and we shared a pint of lager beer with a continental head. Great man with a real passion for the game.
filbertboy Posted 10 September 2011 Posted 10 September 2011 Seriously? again? We drew away from home. Its hardly the end of the world is it. Go find a new club to suppport if you want to back a new manager. exactly..... well said.
cc_star Posted 10 September 2011 Posted 10 September 2011 The Thai's aren't just employing an LCFC manager, they're employing someone to further the game in Thailand and the far East too http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14771400.stm Perhaps if the worst for Sven does happen he'll end up as an ambassador for something over there, lets face it the guy can't lose and no matter what happens he comes up smelling of roses. If we keep drawing one, losing one & winning one in the tide of mediocrity we've seen so far then the situation will probably be re-evaluated ahead of the 2 week break after the Derby home on Oct 1st (just like it was when Sven came in at the beginning of the International break then & he said the time with the players was priceless in starting to turn things around, although it was arguably the January transfer window which kicked things up a notch as we had a woeful December losing 4 away games on the trot

West Ham/Brighton/Southhampton probably are. Yes, we spent lots of money and were pre-season favourites. We've proved that we don't live up to the hype by a long shot.

Good, because I think 'The Hype' is the one thing that could unsettle and ultimately destroy our glorious Leicester City.
Babylon Posted 10 September 2011 Posted 10 September 2011 Billy Davis Far to early, but I'd have the miserable git anytime.
Bugg Posted 10 September 2011 Posted 10 September 2011 Feel sorry got the guy - stories were all prefabricated by some low-life whilst he worked in a children's home. Gets the best out of players and no denying the fact he is a good Manager. Didn't seem to get the best out of that Cardiff team that should have easily got promotion/won the league.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 10 September 2011 Posted 10 September 2011 Didn't seem to get the best out of that Cardiff team that should have easily got promotion/won the league. Sven has hardly set the world alight with a similar quality team has he so far? Least Jones has years of Championship experience and has taken a team up before.

And of course he's had championship experience, that's what you get when you don't do enough to manage at the big stage.
MC Prussian Posted 10 September 2011 Posted 10 September 2011 There really are some boring jesters out there.
dog_4 Posted 10 September 2011 Posted 10 September 2011 dave jones hasn't got a plan B! and would be the kind of manager we'd go for before when we had no money! massive ambition and money! david moyes for me!

Thracian Posted 10 September 2011 Posted 10 September 2011 I like Sven. He needs time to put the teams together. We are mid table unlike last year where we where bottom. If Sven does go (Like every one on this forum at one point in time as said they want) who would want to come to the club? Who could we get? I don't think MON would come because of expectations. Sven leaving at this point would be terrible for our seasons. What do you all think? I don't think the yardstick is where we were after Soussa but where we were after Pearson. With the time taken, a full close season and the investment made I'd have expected an improvement - both in league position and in the way we were shaping up as a team. As it is Hull are actually above us in the table now showing that Pearson seems to have rebuilt steadily and effectively in his Policeman Plod style. Pearson's departure was a shock but having made that decision and having finally got around to appointing Sven I expected to go forward from the Pearson position and to start showing a bit of panache to go with the professionalism of Pearson's time. Sven has had managerial utopia in terms of backing but our better players seem to be perfroming no better than the average ones we had under Pearson. I don't want a new manager at this stage. But we'll have to get one if we don't get the right coaches, preparing with the attention to detail, with the right philosophy and instilling the right motivation for getting us to give 90 minutes commitment towards winning our football matches. To date this season I'm not sure we've given 90 minutes of really focused effort in any game. We've just functioned properly for parts of games.
