Kitchandro Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Really think people are jumping the gun here. Lets see who they appoint first. And then, even if it is an underwhelming appointment, I hope those people that stuck up for Sven so much will not hold that against the next manager.
Corky Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 I think this season has been underwhelming more than anything. Not a success so far, not a disaster, just underwhelming. He hasn't left us in a dreadful position, and with a decent squad of players we could push on.
The Doctor Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Outstanding in one game, 3 and a half good games in all if you count Brighton and the halfs against Southampton, Forest and Watford. Brilliant! That's promotion form! Just when I thought you couldn't be more of a tool - performances don't win promotion, results do and despite our less than stellar performances, we're picking up points and in good form - I've shown the maths several times, over the last 10 games our form is play-offs at the very least. Not happy, but I will give the new manager time (Unless it's Shearer, Burley, McClaren or Keane - they can **** off straight away).
BlueSi13 Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Anybody remember the optimism of the Real Madrid game?....... This wasn't supposed to happen.
Rodders Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 They are hardly going to come out and say they are well pleased are they? Dave Kitson did when Cotterill left Portsmouth. And they could just say nothing.
Fox 4 Life Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Several players on twitter stating how gutted they are... this is horrible timing IMO
Corky Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Really think people are jumping the gun here. Lets see who they appoint first. And then, even if it is an underwhelming appointment, I hope those people that stuck up for Sven so much will not hold that against the next manager. I'm pretty sure that the people who wanted Sven out are just as likely to be underwhelmed.
cc_star Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 5 wins, 4 draws & 4 defeats. the very definition of mediocre, replicated over the season = mid-table which is all we've ever been under Sven, despite the best backing the division has ever seen. He's not won anything for over 10 years for a reason & he only won stuff before then by spening over a quarter of a billion to buy the Italian league. He knows nothing of this league & has proved it. His signings are hit & miss with Beckford & Danns looking shadows of their former selves & many others under-performing too, his range of signings was off with too many CMs and no one who can change our style of play, we're one dimensional and have gone massively backwards since Jan/Feb. What baffles me is why now & not either the international break or next summer, unless someone quality has been contacted.
StarFox Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Sorry if this has already been asked but does anybody have a sky sports news stream?
BoneDog Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 To the folks who say that we are now a laughing stock - we were already a laughing stock, have you been to a pub and listened to different fans lately? They were all already taking the piss out of our start to the season! Only time will tell if this is the right decision or not, but one thing is for certain, if we had put in another four or five lackadaisical performances in the coming month then we would have been miles off the pace and would have needed to go on a phenomenal run to have any chance of automatic promotion. The players must share some of the blame for this because from what I've seen and heard this season quite a few of the performances have been lacking in desire and fight.
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 I've a good contact that has told me that the owners have met with MON 3 times in the past 5 weeks. I'm not saying he'd come, but just that they're obviously interested.
Guest bennytwohats Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Let's pray there isn;t a player backlash because like him or not, Sven clearly had a rapport with the squad. If we take inconsistency and turn it to just all out shitness we're in trouble. I really just can't see any good coming out of this.
beryllind Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 He might still be here if he had shown some passion,------ his back room staff also reflects on this decision.---- I'm worrying though who's coming in.
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Massive over reaction IMO. Sacking him in October. We would climb above West Ham if we beat them Saturday. I'm in shock over this.

Not happy, but I will give the new manager time (Unless it's Shearer, Burley, McClaren or Keane - they can **** off straight away). Here we go, how old are you 18? Mr Billy big bollocks again, thinking you've been there and done it and are so much more knowledgeable than everyone else. Call me a tool if it makes you feel better but it's you who is made to look like one. I've been hearing get behind your manager all this time, but if it's not Sven it seems so many don't want to get behind them. Sven wasn't doing his job properly, you go on about points, well if we were top of the league and playing the same it'd have saved him, but we're bottom half! Yes we're only so many points of top 2 but performances are the bigger picture at this stage.
Man Of Faith Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Lists of replacements that wouldn't make this the dumbest decision ever: O'Neill Superman This comment is absolutely spot on!!!
EnderbyFox Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Really think people are jumping the gun here. Lets see who they appoint first. And then, even if it is an underwhelming appointment, I hope those people that stuck up for Sven so much will not hold that against the next manager. How ironic that the anti Sven brigade are accusing others of jumping the gun?

I'm not saying he'd come, but just that they're obviously interested. No offence but it's the kind of thing that purely by the law of averages you are gonna get a lot of people posting here right now. I'll believe it when i see it. My gut feeling is that there's absolutely no chance. He was always gonna be the first name thrown about.
JmorsonLCFC Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 You calling the Thai owners, who have spent a fortune bankrolling Sven, "happy fickle twats!" yes mate
MC Prussian Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Prussian - the fact that you say you'd rather us not go up to prove the Sven doubters wrong sums you up. I'd rather prove the tossers in the media and fans from other clubs wrong. I think your anti-Sven stance and the one of your fellow Sven-haters sums you lot up perfectly for me. From the moment that man walked through our doors, it's been all but negativity from your corner. He could but fail. What a terrific attitude! Enjoy your happy Monday evening with your cheap bottle of champagne. I'm just livid. ****ing joke of a club this has become with an increasing number of joke fans. I'm out (for a while).
New England Fox Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Outstanding in one game, 3 and a half good games in all if you count Brighton and the halfs against Southampton, Forest and Watford. Brilliant! That's promotion form! Yet we are only 2 points off the play offs which suggests it was only a matter of time before we got some consistent form and moved up the table. I hope you'll still be happy when they bring in Bryan Robson.
Oh tommy wright Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Lovely way to talk about your own fans Take some anger management therapy What would you have done wait till jan,feb,march...? "players loved him" who cares! Managers are not there to be loved! They obviously loved him so much by putting in that performance on Saturday. So much money poured into the club there was no way the owners were going to settle for another year in the championship. Sorry Sven- a likeable man - but I think you knew this was coming.
dannythefox Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 we've had 5 chances to get into the play-offs and failed every time its not good enough i take my hat off to the thais they really do want the prem and would'nt you if you had spent 10m. If he had played 4-4-2 he would still be here!
blueharmie Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 so we have sacked him i wouldn mind but if he was to have taken us up we prob would come straight back down again. we are not a premeirship team, no way near. sacking sven is an absoloute joke unless MON is lined up i am baffled.
