sphericalfox Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Best news I heard all day. The man is a myth and has rode on his PR and rep for too long. Good riddance to bad rubbish. Any chance you go with him?
accessory Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Sven's car is at the ground He's just discussing a settlement with the owners. To those whinging about his getting the bullet, it's not our money he's gambled with.
somebum Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 He had a 2 year contract. Muppet. Sky reported that he had two years left. Sorry for the mistake, twat features.
Onions Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Lets be blunt about it, it's not been an amazing start to the season, but it's not been terrible. So if Sven's gone what does it mean? It means weeks, or months of uncertainty, not knowing who or when a new manager will take control. It will also mean whenever someone does take control that they won't be able to do anything until January anyway as the window for transfers is closed. Anyone whos been a Leicester fan more than a day wants one thing, and that's a secure, stable future. If the owners are expecting over-night transformations, and promotion because we've spent money, then they simple don't understand this league, and if they have gotten bored of Sven already, how long till they get bored of Leicester? It wasn't too long ago we were frightening to stay in the league, and ex-players like Heskey were giving us money to survive. Football clubs don't success unless there is stability, and that starts with the owners, and the management of the club. You can't chop and change the manager and expect outcomes Now lets look at who's gonna want out.... Vassell, Beckford, Nugent, Fernandez, Mills, Kasper all came to Leicester because of Sven (and money....) so what's going to happen to them? Now lets look at whos free, with the expection of Martin O'Neill, there is nobody better than Sven, and Martin won't come back Season over guys
Tielemans63 Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Wow. The next appointment has to be right. This tells us a lot about Top and his pops - not as patient as we might have thought.
Blueasafox Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 In Shock ..... next match West Ham great timing ......NOT I was at the game v Millwall still getting over it but this is crazy
MC Prussian Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 When will the owners of Leicester City FC (whoever they are) ever have the patience to stick with a name longer than a year?? This is ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous. Not even at the end of October, two points off the playoff places and you sack the manager!!! **** it. **** it.
Karljohn Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 What a joke we are, The best squad in years, When we get it right we play stunning football. A very short sighted decision if true. 2 points of the playoffs and its only the end of October. So now we enter a period of uncertainty and turmoil. I fear for a championship status if this is true. But we havent got it right, apart from beating Derby the brand of football is over cautious and negative, and with questionmarks over his motivation its a squad of individuals rather than a team. Good teams dont get battered 0-3 at home by chuffing Millwall 13 games in, and yes we may lie 2 points off the play offs but the play offs is failure for that thai investment. I do agree with you that we are a joke when it comes to turnover of managers but for this calibre of manager he shouldnt even be giving the thai's a decision to make, they have reached it based on weve been done by Bristol, Millwall and Reading already at home and don't look capable of finding the net away from the KP, and he's been in for a year and yet to break the top 6. Bryan Robson and Peter Reid are available
MattyFromLE Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Absolute ****ing joke. First time since we came back into the league that we can build solid foundations for a proper go at the Premier League, and we let Sven go after ONE YEAR IN CHARGE. I agree that results have not been acceptable, but my god. Give him time!
Callabinho Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 It has proven that sacking managers does not solve anything. Literally the only man who can save this I believe Is Billy Davies......
sdb Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 He's underachieved. But this is harsh, and i'm slightly disappointed. Dread to think who'll replace him.
WardyisPukka Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Why does it? Because we have sacked our big-named manager? I remember when Crystal Palace were bottom at Christmas, and they ended up making the play offs/going up. These players might not be what the new manager wants ! new ideas new things takes time to gel!! we havent got time, it just a stupid decision and one that will probably backfire
Wymsey Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Hi guys, I heard from someone high up at the club at the ground said that Mclaren had a 'behind the scenes conference' only two weeks ago at the Marriott.. Dead true.
topharry123 Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Any official confirmation yet? Even if not too many places are reporting it for it to be a wind up. This is the first decision the new owners have made that I don't understand. If we had won on saturday we would have been in a play off spot close to the top 2. One loss and we're mid table but well within striking distance. We've not done as well as we expected, but who has really? This is an extremely tough league to get out of especially this year. I would have liked to see Sven given a few more games. Not even at the end of October yet, we don't need this now. How many of our players is this going to unsettle i wonder...
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Good old Sven; his Very Easy Method for getting money has worked again - get a 3 year contract, work a year, fcuk it up and get a big payoff. Cvnt. Yeah, that's exactly how it works. Now that your sole reason for being here has gone, why don't you follow his lead and fook right off? There's a cvnt and it ain't Sven.
Number 6 Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Not sure why anyone would want to come if they're gonna be this trigger happy?
EnderbyFox Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Been sacked. Confirmed by Stringer now. I'm absolutely gutted. This, gutted.
MC Prussian Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 I'm looking forward to a new manager not being able to get us promoted - just to prove all the Sven haters wrong. Yes, I'm that gutted.
Schlupp Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 The owners aren't idoits,If anything there showing how much ambition they have if they're willing to sack him,Fair play to them they're 15mill out of pocket and we're 13th ffs.
cc_star Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Bottom half of the table, given the level of investment it's was coming... A team with no ideas & manager clueless as to how to change things. I think he should have until the summer, but I don't pay his ridiculous wages nor have I backed him more than any manager has ever been outside the top flight. Simply not good enough over the year he's been here, we could easily have made the playoffs last season & we should be setting the pace this season not in the bottom half. Sven has only ever been good for burning money. It is however only a good decision if we get a manager capable of propelling us to a top 2 spot, but given the limitations of Sven's signings with too many duplicated skills and not enough variety it's a tough ask of anyone.
Kitchandro Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 I'm shocked. but can't say I'm really disappointed. He's been here a year and we whilst we got much better initially, we've gone downhill since February. I think the bottom line is we weren't going to finish in the automatic promotion places with him. You can argue it's too early but I don't think he can have any complaints, we're nowhere new big enough at the moment.
roblcfc84 Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 I think the biggest problem with sven was not Sven it was his support. Needed an experienced championship man next to him to help with a difficult league. I fear Powell leaving may be a bigger factor than anyone at the club realised...
Criggers Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 I'm absolutely gutted. Same but let's face it LCFC have underperformed given the resources available. What worries me more is who will replace him
somebum Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Yeah, that's exactly how it works. Now that your sole reason for being here has gone, why don't you follow his lead and fook right off? There's a cvnt and it ain't Sven. Member since March 2007 you daft cvnt.
