Leicesterpool Posted 22 November 2011 Posted 22 November 2011 Please share awful away trips following the foxes, perhaps maybe even transport problems following to the game. My worst away game following the foxes- Portsmouth 6-1, horrible night, awful performance, laughing stock on tv, cr*p manager, morrison's silly handball. Decided to book a weekend stay for that, after that result ruined the rest of the weekend. I even cried in shame when I got back to the hotel, first time I've ever cried after watching a football match.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 22 November 2011 Posted 22 November 2011 Can i classify a game at the Walkers as an away game? Melbourne to Heathrow then bus down to Leicester a few beers on zero sleep to see us v Birmingham loose 2 nil and get 2 red cards Walker and Elliott.
Dan Posted 22 November 2011 Posted 22 November 2011 Generally games like Swansea and Reading last year, Hull when we went down etc... no atmosphere, dull ground, miles away, shite performance, no standing, all that kind of crap.
blue army 1988 Posted 22 November 2011 Posted 22 November 2011 Crystal palace last season. Took us 8 hours to get back to leicester on fox travel cos of incident on motor way
StanSP Posted 22 November 2011 Posted 22 November 2011 Reading. 26th October 2009. Although we won, it was one of the luckiest wins I've ever seen. We got totally battered and it was a miracle how we kept a clean sheet. Add to that the fact it was a wet, fairly windy, wintry Monday evening and the Madejski Stadium had less soul and atmosphere than the Walkers Stadium. The best part of the game wasn't even the game itself - ripping Chris Coleman in the makeshift studio was amusing. Overall though, despite the 3 points ultimately gained, a pretty crappy night! Also been to a friendly vs Luton a few years back at Kenilworth Road. That was just shit because of the stadium though. Wasn't really fussed about the result.
Unit Posted 22 November 2011 Posted 22 November 2011 The 'first leg' of forest away in the cup a few years ago. Not such a friendly atmosphere afterwards. That or the 5-1 loss there, uh. I'm going to stop going to the city ground. Oh and every away game at cov I've been to. ****ing waste of time hellhole.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 22 November 2011 Posted 22 November 2011 One of mine was 2-0 Posh in 2008, shut weather and crap performance and got me nothing but abuse at school.
dobbylcfc Posted 22 November 2011 Posted 22 November 2011 Plymouth away few seasons ago match was abandoned due to the the rain that was one long ass trip home :-(
Jimbo Posted 22 November 2011 Posted 22 November 2011 Derby a couple of seasons ago. Completely shite match, absolutely nothing to talk about after the game apart from Kings own goal. Quite possibly the worst game of football I've ever seen
paulsherwood1 Posted 22 November 2011 Posted 22 November 2011 Brighton away ( think it was 1989?) the weather on the way was appalling. I remember our coach stopped at toddington to phone the club and find out if the game was on. There was about 6ft snow! ( and no mobile phones!). We were told it was. We battled on down to Brighton, where the sun was shining, only to be told the game was off as the fast defrost of the snow had waterlogged the pitch!!! Awful! We got free travel to the Tuesday night re-arrangement, which we duly lost 2-0. Not happy.
Simmo86 Posted 22 November 2011 Posted 22 November 2011 Reading away New Years Day 2003. Felt stupidly rough, tired, cold and wet. Watch 45 mins of turgid football before the game gets abandoned at half time!
Basingstoke Fox Posted 22 November 2011 Posted 22 November 2011 Some seriously hopeless and shit performances: Charlton away - L 2-0 QPR away - L 3-1 Southampton away - FA Cup - L 2-0 I honestly thought we played well in this game. We could easily have won. Does my head in to see those happy clappy Reading F**kwits celebrate every time we play against them. The game we won in 2009 was one of the best just to rub it in their faces. Reading away - L 3-1 Portsmouth last year must have been the worst though. Although after the fourth goal I kind of started to not care anymore, I lost any hope I had for that team so thought **** it go one then score another. We could've conceded 10+ were it not for some great keeping by Logan. Hoping we rectify that performance this weekend! ripping Chris Coleman in the makeshift studio was amusing. Coleman's getting make-up, Coleman's getting make-up la la la la. la la la la.
Fox92 Posted 22 November 2011 Posted 22 November 2011 Getting to the ground: Crystal Palace - anytime, although I have only been once and that was last season. Worst performance: Peterborough (08/09) / Hull (07/08) - Hull was freezing that day as well. Probably the coldest I have ever been, and a horrible performance. Loosing to Sheffield Wednesday is horrid as well. When I was at school, I used to get abused by the Wednesday fans. And they always used to beat us at Hillsborough (I've seen Leicester win once).

Neil_LCFC Posted 22 November 2011 Posted 22 November 2011 Brighton away ( think it was 1989?) the weather on the way was appalling. We got free travel to the Tuesday night re-arrangement, which we duly lost 2-0. Not happy. I remember going to this game ( the first one not the rearranged one) It was kevin Campbells last game of his loan spell from Arsenal. The LCFC team bus left him in Brighton as he was getting the train back to London and we were chatting to him outside the ground. Another bad one was Grimsby away, that was called off just as we got to the ground and saw the team bus travelling in the opposite direction. Also remember Plymouth away midweek 3-0 down at half time we were bottom of division 2 . Wayne Clarke upfront Pleat as manager absolute shite lost 3-1 in the end Alan Paris with a consolation. About 200 LCFC on the open terrace behind the goal. Remember losing 5-2 away at Hull at Boothferry park on a fri night when the LCFC fans were chucking there scarves at Mike Hooper in goal in disgust. Got to that game late as followed the floodlights and it turned out to be the rugby ones who were training. The turnstiles were closed when we got there so had to give a bloke on the gate full price even tho 20 mins had gone and he was pocketing the cash and we were allready 2-0 down. Most away games were terrible with pleat as manager used to win about 2 a season.
Head Honcho Posted 22 November 2011 Posted 22 November 2011 Cup game against Oldham in the 80's Postponed twice Spurs in the 80's Bank Holiday game. Twenty of us in the back of a Bedford van given the run around by the law in central London, missed the game, got stopped on the way home on the M1 because the chassis was touching the road..............sparks everywhere! No idea how the rest of the lads got home as I was one of the lucky ones to stay in the van.
Adster Posted 22 November 2011 Posted 22 November 2011 Crystal palace last season. Took us 8 hours to get back to leicester on fox travel cos of incident on motor way This. Absolute nightmare journey back.
Zingari Posted 22 November 2011 Posted 22 November 2011 Harlow in the replay of the FA cup 3rd round. 1980 we lost 1-0 in case anyone doesn't know this
rhett_72 Posted 22 November 2011 Posted 22 November 2011 charlton away losing 2-0 to finally put an end to our hopes of automatic promotion or the swindon playoff final
Langston Posted 22 November 2011 Posted 22 November 2011 Brighton away in our League One season, especially given the large number of my mates that support them.
frankiesgrandad Posted 22 November 2011 Posted 22 November 2011 Harlow away .. getting beaten by a non league side at a leisure centre with grass banks as terracing
David Guiza Posted 22 November 2011 Posted 22 November 2011 Wolves 4-3, I still blame Keith Gillespie for a ridiculous handball to get them properly back in the game. Bolton away 2001/2002 season was pretty woeful as well, although it was an improvement on the home fixture.
crisp packet Posted 22 November 2011 Posted 22 November 2011 Two semi finals (won both . But had a mare getting home same way!!!) Sunderland away , worthington cup .Coach broke down and was stuck in a service station for hours .Got home at 6 am ! Wimbledon away , Selhurst park . Coca Cola Cup . Came over the tanoy that the last train back to st pancras was at 10.05 , with 20mins left of extra time, recall getting train back to Northampton . Then cabs . Dear old night!
Durnerz Posted 22 November 2011 Posted 22 November 2011 Cardiff away in the 2005/6 season I think, 1-0 defeat in an awful game on a tuesday night with Mark De Vries spooning a sitter wide with the last kick of the game. Got back to Leicester and it was the day of the fuel strike and my mate needed petrol, spent forever looking around for a place until we finally got one just as the car was about to give up.
