Yojoe36 Posted 3 December 2011 Posted 3 December 2011 Two numpties on the radio. Mills is taking it yet again. Hull were poor useless. They're in and about the playoffs. Good, the rest of the league must be awful. As they're poor that's one less team to worry about post-January transfer window.
MC Prussian Posted 3 December 2011 Posted 3 December 2011 I don't agree with the previous caller on Radio Leicester, but the way Alan Young cut him off repeatedly was out of order.
Kitchandro Posted 3 December 2011 Posted 3 December 2011 I have to say though we didn't play well from the first minute. They looked more up for it than us even before the sending off and were on top. They aren't a great side but not a terrible one either. We should have started with Gallagher, give him stick for what he did but starting instead of Danns in a more suited position and it would have been a different story. I think he was the wrong sub to bring on at the time though. When Mills was sent off we should have took the useless Danns off instead of Beckford. I can understand why he chose Beckford but we basically accepted a draw at best from that momnt, and in inviting pressure all match it eventually told. To not have a striker on the pitch for almost half an hour was a mistake too. I'd have brought Howard on because he knows how to hold it up. In the situation it was the better choice.
ithuriel Posted 3 December 2011 Posted 3 December 2011 Its the long haul that count's and Nigel has a lot of work to do but we know he is good at squad building, shame we have to wait until January but it does give him time to really see what player's can not cut it here. Hull will carry on well from where Nigel left them since it was basically the squad he built after carrying out major surgery, will take some time before we see if their new management team is any good.
Babylon Posted 3 December 2011 Posted 3 December 2011 Why not bring Schlupp or Howard Schlupp wasn't on the bench and Howard needs to ball right at him because he's not mobile. I can understand the thought process behind all the changes. If we still had 7 men on the bench we wouldn't be having these conversations as we always had something for every eventuality. We don't though unfortunately.
Imoen Posted 3 December 2011 Posted 3 December 2011 I'm sorry to hijack the thread, but where is Johnson? Injured again?
Master Fox Posted 3 December 2011 Posted 3 December 2011 Its a penalty, not a red card Disagree, and I don't agree with all of this scapegoat rubbish and drivel directed at Mills.
Babylon Posted 3 December 2011 Posted 3 December 2011 I watched it on a stream and it looked like he got the ball (replays and all). He did get he ball... watch his foot as the ball is running through to kasper though, he flicks out at their striker.
Kitchandro Posted 3 December 2011 Posted 3 December 2011 Don't be a bellend It's the best back 4 out of the players we've got. Unless Tunchev can get fit. Mills has had long enough and has been a liability for the most part. He's had some decent games but he's cost us too many times.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 3 December 2011 Posted 3 December 2011 He didn't get a red card at Forest. Oops. I meant the peno at Forest wasn't his fault. But the red at B'ham was.

shade Posted 3 December 2011 Posted 3 December 2011 if you don't think it was a penalty, you're mental! watch it again properly freak shows. the tackle was fine, but intentionally flicking your foot to trip someone over in the penalty area is definitely a penalty, probably a red.
FoxTrott Posted 3 December 2011 Posted 3 December 2011 Felt sorry for Pearson above all else. A draw would have been fair to both parties. Their fans showed a complete lack of respect to a manager who has built them a solid team and served them well, leaving for a reason that any one of their fans would probably leave for. I hope they enjoy mid-table obscurity.
J.Lisemore Posted 3 December 2011 Posted 3 December 2011 Why he brought Gally on instead of Howard, with the situation we were in, baffles me.

(I keep defending myself by saying I havn't seen it and havn't listened to the majority of the match but going on past experience I can have an opinion on this) People are in denial, they'd rather blame the referee than the players. I wish people could be more honest.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 3 December 2011 Posted 3 December 2011 Mills did get the ball, for the original tackle. But he then flicked out at their striker, thats what the peno and red card were for.
Master Fox Posted 3 December 2011 Posted 3 December 2011 Why he brought Gally on instead of Howard, with the situation we were in, baffles me. Someone who can run a bit.

seenitall Posted 3 December 2011 Posted 3 December 2011 Schmeichal Konch, Pelts, played well at the back - bamba played ok but screwed up which led to putting Mills under ridiculous pressure for the sending off. Can't see how Mills could be sent off as the ball was headed out of play after his block when he caught the guy as they both went down - very harsh and probably not a sending off - he shouldn't have been under that pressure though. St Ledger looks OK but was slow to close down the guy who scored for them so jury out for me. Wellens was sluggish and gives the ball away too many times but considering he may well have been the only central midfielder with King asleep for the whole game, at least he tried. Thought Danns had a few god runs at defenders and Dyer did what he always does, looks quite flashy but rarely delivers a good ball in. Nugent looked good but doesn't flourish on his own up front (whereas I thought Beckford might, and should have been brought back on really for Nuge). Gallagher is always a bit rubbish at anything but wellying the ball - his appalling corner led to their possession for the second goal, Fernandes was ineffectual - poor sub bringing Gally on - he just isn't really good enough and although it pains me to say it, Steve H would have been better if we were resorting to hoof ball. 4 games in and Nige has dropped 5 points - another 6 or 7 like this and he'll be joining Sven I reckon
MC Prussian Posted 3 December 2011 Posted 3 December 2011 Mills isn't a bad player, he just comes up with really piss-poor games occasionally. Lapses of concentration and all that...
reynard Posted 3 December 2011 Posted 3 December 2011 Disappointing result. I'm afraid Mills is a liability on the floor. He's ok in the air but he can't pass, he's too slow, he doesn't read the game very well and he's cost us quite a few points so far. For 5million I expect a LOT better player than the one we currently have. The thing is can he improve? I don't think at the moment that he has requisite basic skills required to make a top footballer.
Kitchandro Posted 3 December 2011 Posted 3 December 2011 Why he brought Gally on instead of Howard, with the situation we were in, baffles me. Agreed. Gallagher has never been the kind of player for that situation. When we did it at Forest me and everyone who went with me said it was the worst sub we could have possibly made at the time. Today I think it was the same. We were let down by Mills but then I think tactically we dealt with it wrong. Howard can hold it up and rough them up on his own.
Guest parky0607 Posted 3 December 2011 Posted 3 December 2011 Don't be a bellend Why on earth is he / she a bell end? Twice in less than half a season our main CB has got himself sent off, reduced us to 10 men and effectively cost us 6 points already. Meanwhile we have another CB putting in some very decent and competitive shifts and failing to make any mistakes. I don't see why SSL doesn't deserve Mills' place until Mills can find some self-discipline and can begin to compete for his place again. Don't just give someone abuse without justifying yourself, because that just makes you look the bell end I'm afraid.

I wish people could be more honest. Exactly. No-one to blame but Mills. Everyones quick to blame Danns or Gally, they were crap today, admittedly, but Mills cost us any chance of getting a win here.
Guest Col city fan Posted 3 December 2011 Posted 3 December 2011 Bollox to danns (I'm always on my phone or making music innit) and gally ( pussy boy)... If we wanna go up we MUST sign a good right wide man Oh... And billy sharpe please...
