Callabinho Posted 6 June 2012 Posted 6 June 2012 So what? I rather look at facts Luke Chambers was part of the leakiest defense for F****t last season who were relegation fodder, all of their fans don't rate him, maybe we should pay attention to that rather than blindly accepting that he is some sort of amazing CB when he clearly isn't otherwise other clubs in this division would be lauding for his services. I am hoping this is a smokescreen so that Dull get the message to sell Chester to us. A lot more contributed to Florist's poor season than a leaky defence, their shambolic start under McClaren hardly set them up for a good season. The fact is when Chambers was good, he was good and along side Wes they had a formidable partnership at this level!
Happy Fox Posted 6 June 2012 Posted 6 June 2012 We talking about ex forest player of the year Chambers, the same Chambers who was actually in one of the best defences in the league for a couple of years prior to last year, alongside Wes Morgan. The same Morgan who I believe you also slated, telling us to look how crap Forest are. Rather than looking at the previous years he did well for them, and the fact he was in the championship team of the year the year before. Bamba came from fecking Scotland and SSL from a relegated team, and many people on here bum them to death. If you choose to focus on what could well be a dip in form, then fine. But accusing people of "not looking at the facts" and "blindly accepting he's an amazing CB" is utter nonsense. It might work, it might not if he signed. Anyone confidently predicting without a shadow of a doubt one way or the other is nothing but a fool. Okay I won't judge a player till he actually plays for us then, but the judgement of the F****t fans is quite telling isn't it? http://www.forestforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=31976 I am aware he did well before under Davies tutelage so maybe a change of scenery might get the best out of him who knows hey.
Danny the Fox 95 Posted 6 June 2012 Posted 6 June 2012 Chambers would be on a free though. Defo a risk worth taking!
hornyhollthefox123 Posted 6 June 2012 Posted 6 June 2012 Wouldn't mind Chambers if came here. Seemed a seriously good player the season before last and would hopefully regain that form alongside Morgan. But, was impressed with Whitbread whenever I've seen him play also. Neither would be bad signings on a free and would provide good quality competition.
lcfcsnow Posted 6 June 2012 Posted 6 June 2012 Chambers and Morgan?? Deary me, another season wasted, that's 3 now with funds available. We really are a shambles and it just confirms Pearson is a small time manager.

hornyhollthefox123 Posted 6 June 2012 Posted 6 June 2012 Well who else do you want? Mills will leave, Bamba's gone. And Chester may prove a very difficult/expensive acquisition.
lcfcsnow Posted 6 June 2012 Posted 6 June 2012 Well who else do you want? Mills will leave, Bamba's gone. And Chester may prove a very difficult/expensive acquisition. I want a manager who can manage good players, instead of losing the club millions farming them off to other clubs on the cheap just because he clashes with them. He is small time, he can't manage any player on high wages, any player with flair, nor anyone who isn't a typical British player who's main attribute is effort. If I'm paying almost £600 to watch his team I want some kind of enjoyment out of it, I don't get that watching that fat tank at the back hoofing it and now his Forest mate may be following him here too? Jesus christ, mid table mediocity again.
hornyhollthefox123 Posted 6 June 2012 Posted 6 June 2012 We all want some enjoyment from it, and let's just let Pearson build a team again. Seems a point made over and over but he has achieved a lot more at this club than most in recent time so let's just see where it takes us with his own players. Also its not simply down to him not handling players correctly. The wages are extraordinary no doubt, and we need to sort that as well as getting rid of anyone thinking they're too big time.
Mark_w Posted 6 June 2012 Posted 6 June 2012 Jesus christ, mid table mediocity again. Like the last time that 'Small Time Manager' was in charge of us in the Championship? Or like Hull were doing with that 'Small Time Manager' in charge last year?
kingfox Posted 6 June 2012 Posted 6 June 2012 We need Chester, St Ledger and Morgan. That is all we need, no Chambers or Hall. Do everything in our power to get Chester as an option alongside Morgan and St Ledger. With Mills and Bamba departing.
Harry - LCFC Posted 6 June 2012 Posted 6 June 2012 I think Chester is better than Chambers and Hall, he also has more potential at such a young age. I just think he'll be harder to bring in than either of the other two so we may have to take one of them. I wouldn't be too bothered if we splashed a bit on Chester tbh, think he'd be worth it in the long run.
Babylon Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 Chambers and Morgan?? Deary me, another season wasted, that's 3 now with funds available. We really are a shambles and it just confirms Pearson is a small time manager. Prior to last season, Chambers and Morgan were in a forest team that finished about us twice. Did you think signing a defender from Hibs or wherever the hell Bamba came from, or SSL from a relegated Preston team was big time?

Danny the Fox 95 Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 Chambers was also player of the season at Forest the year before last. And many Forest fans absolutely loved him. I'd much rather us sign Chambers on a free than spend a lot on Chester and it could all turn out like the Mills situation all over again. Chambers and Morgan will do their job, nothing more that's all you need from your centre backs. All we need to sign now is Chris Gunter and we'd have the exact same back line as Forest played with in the 2010-2011 season where we lost 3-2 at the City Ground
Mark_w Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 Chambers was also player of the season at Forest the year before last. And many Forest fans absolutely loved him. So a player goes from being player of the year and loved by many fans to having a dip in form and suddenly, unfairly, the Forest fans decide he is dreadfull and must be moved on. Disgracefull, those Forest fans need to take a long hard look in the mirror. I blame Wellens.

And look what happened when we did....Pearson is a sencible manager, if we end up with a back four of De Leat, Chambers, Morgan and Konchesky/shorey I will be very happy.
Chazwaz Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 Fourth Official @Fourth_Official Bolton have made a £1.5million bid for Leicester City's Matt Mills, negotiations will be on going as the foxes want a bigger fee #BWFC#LCFC
Clazie Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 Fourth Official reporting that Bolton have bid £1.5 mill for Mills.

Guest Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 They said they'll only offer if Zac or whatever his name is doesn't re-sign, If he doesn't re-sign then they'll pay more .
wellyfox Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 Fourth Official @Fourth_Official Bolton have made a £1.5million bid for Leicester City's Matt Mills, negotiations will be on going as the foxes want a bigger fee #BWFC#LCFC Hmmmmm praps 2mill max for 20 odd games and a cost of 3.5mill. I rate NP as a manager but not sure about his man managment skills. Rich as we think we are that is a stuppid loss he ain't S.A.F and we ain't Manure. Whatever anyone say's this ain't good management IMO Sorry NP bite the bullet n be the bigger man. This whole deal with MM could end up costing us 3 or 4 mill n for a player not much better than MM
Happy Fox Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 Get it up another million and that would be fine anything between £2.5m-£3m and we have done a good job.

This whole deal with MM could end up costing us 3 or 4 mill n for a player not much better than MM We've already spent the money on MM, much more than he's worth, that was Sven's mistake. Now we've got a player on wages much greater than he should be on who is never going to repay the money we spent simply because he isn't good enough. Best thing to do is get him off the wage bill and get back as much as we possibly can for him. I still refuse to accept a bad man manager can get Weale, Morrison, Hobbs, Brown, Berner, Gallagher, King, Wellens, Dyer, Howard, Fryatt to 5th in the Championship.
