bald reynard Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 Varney is very good and veratile. Yes Please. I'd really like to see Varney at City. A good player with all the clubs he's been with. Portsmouth will have to SHIP (how appropriate !) players out now, with relegation and financial problems. A natural left sided attacker, who's gets a few goals as well - just what we need. And a BIG City fan. I hope this rumours true. Only problem is, I've heard the Trees are also interested in him !
dave_the_fox Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 Doubt the Varney Deal is a goer Read that as Vardy then shit me sen!

IF ANY OF THIS IS TRUE THEN - I know it's a professional game, but any player offered a job with his boyhood team is gonna choose that over an offer from their rivals surely.
Happy Fox Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 Ian Stringer @StringerSport @mdeaks6921 I'd be shocked if Beckford is at the club in August mate
RowlattsFox Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 Would people be interested in Varney if he wasn't born in Leicester? No better than we currently have, other than maybe in a wide position but then I'd rather we sign an actual winger.

LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 LCFC News @Footy_Insider Matt Mills has left lcfc, Kevin Wilson on his way to lcfc #lcfc #celtic Hmm..
Lambert09 Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 LCFC News @Footy_Insider Matt Mills has left lcfc, Kevin Wilson on his way to lcfc #lcfc #celtic Hmm.. How about they can have both? Not keen on Wilson at all. He has no sell on value, Mills does...this seems terrible business
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 How about they can have both? Not keen on Wilson at all. He has no sell on value, Mills does...this seems terrible business Rather sell mills than just a straight swap
bald reynard Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 Rather sell mills than just a straight swap Where does it say that it's a straight swap - I would have thought that it's Wilson + £?m
bald reynard Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 How about they can have both? Not keen on Wilson at all. He has no sell on value, Mills does...this seems terrible business Again, how do you know that Celtic are not putting up some money + Wilson, for Mills ? I agree that it is terrible business if it's a straight swap, but I would have thought that Celtic would also have to put some money into the deal.
Grewks Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 Rather sell mills than just a straight swap Rumors are it is £2-3 million + wilson for mills, I would take it.
bald reynard Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 Rumors are it is £2-3 million + wilson for mills, I would take it. As I say above, Wilson plus cash for Mills, is a requirement. IF the cash offer is around £2m or £3m, I would say that it's a good deal - and we should do it.

IF, IF that's all true, then this is all pretty smart business by NP. He will have brought in Wilson, De Laet, James and Vardy. And he will have done this by getting rid of someone he couldn't work with, (Mills), and using that money to fund both transfer fees and most of the salaries of those he does want. Superb balancing. The owners must sleep a whole lot better with NP respecting their money.

TrentFox Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 They want promotion not balanced books. True. Very true, my friend. But they now know that "unbalanced books" are no more likely to get promotion than balanced books. And if it were my money, (nice thought), I know which I'd prefer.
Dan Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 To be fair there was something in the Mercury about Mills/Wilson today. Although even they're a lot less reliable than I once thought.
Babylon Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 I can't believe for one minute Celtic would pay that much up front for someone they know we want of our books. Let alone chucking in another player with it.
Guest Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 The Football League feel a bit differently. The owners don't want to be a part of the Football league either.
