wellyfox Posted 21 May 2012 Posted 21 May 2012 Fourth Official confirms Beckford will leave. Hope it's not true as I think it will be a big mistake. I think him n Nuge would rip this league up nxt season.
Danno Posted 21 May 2012 Posted 21 May 2012 If we let go of beckford then I hope we get someone like Harry Kane or Gary Maldine.
Jaspa Posted 21 May 2012 Posted 21 May 2012 Well I would love to watch him do well in a successful team of ours, and actually rate his potential, optional ability But he he basically had to be squeezed by the balls to play, and was probably the main reason Sven was sacked. He had a huge chance of Premiership football, under a top manager again, and he fluffed it. I will be sad to see him leave, but hes brought this about himself really I hope Nige & Co have a more than adequate replacement lined up
Lambert09 Posted 21 May 2012 Posted 21 May 2012 This is only worth doing if we have a suitable replacement lined up, otherwise its a step backwards.
Babylon Posted 21 May 2012 Posted 21 May 2012 This is only worth doing if we have a suitable replacement lined up, otherwise its a step backwards. Suitable replacement? Like one that can score 9 league goals.
Adster Posted 21 May 2012 Posted 21 May 2012 Now Football @Now__Football Swansea City are looking at the possibility of signing Jermaine Beckford from Leicester City. (via @Oddschanger) #LCFC #SCFC I have no idea how reliable or not this guy is

Bob Weasel Fox Posted 21 May 2012 Posted 21 May 2012 Could see that working tbh They need another striker would be a good move for JB, and for us

Lambert09 Posted 21 May 2012 Posted 21 May 2012 Suitable replacement? Like one that can score 9 league goals. Just because you have an off season doesnt mean the next will be the same. Him and Nugent have signs of a good partnership, maybe with the addition of a few more midfielders he will flourish... but your probably right lets just stick with waggy and schlupp
Adster Posted 21 May 2012 Posted 21 May 2012 Reckon it'd be a perfect move if they meet our valuation of him. Swansea aren't rivals for promotion, they need a striker, and by the sounds of things wants him gone.

Him and Nugent have signs of a good partnership, maybe with the addition of a few more midfielders he will flourish... but your probably right lets just stick with waggy and schlupp With the addition of him being able to control a football and give a shit he might flourish. Sorry where did I mention Waghorn and Schlupp? But seeing as you bring them up, given the number of minutes he had I wager they also could have reached 9 league goals.
Legend_in_blue Posted 21 May 2012 Posted 21 May 2012 Considering his reputation he has been absolutely shocking for us. Witnessing one good flick or moment of brilliance once in a blue moon does not make the slightest difference. I'm amazed he's wanted by a premier league team considering how bad he's been. His touch hasn't been as bad for a forward since the days of Akinbiyi. And since then there's been enough dross I could but wont mention.

A goal is a goal.... Nugent was playing in these cup games too. I love how when somebody dislikes a player they will do things to make them seem worse such as ruling out cup goals. He was a slow starter there is no disputing that but under Pearson he drastically improved. Really dont see how fans can be so fickle that they wouldnt give someone as talented as Beckford a second chance to prove himself. Give him a pre season see how he comes along
Happy Fox Posted 21 May 2012 Posted 21 May 2012 Beckford is history as far as NP is concerned I would like him to stay for one more season to see if he can improve, with the new additions, but anyway he hasn't been a disaster of epic proportions like some are making out he just hasn't fitted into our style of play. Anyway I will remember him for that hat trick against the F***st I don't care how shit they were, it was f**king brilliant performance by Beckford, such a shame he couldn't replicate that more consistently.
