5waller5 Posted 22 May 2012 Posted 22 May 2012 You cant say all Pearsons signings have been consistently average when he brought in Marshall. Some of his Hull signings where abit risky too Really? I think Marshall's a great example .... yet to be brilliant, can certainly hit a ball and is a more consistent crosser than Lloyd, but a game turner?? I actually see Pearson's way of doing things and can even see how it can work ... I just hope he takes some risks on some exciting players.
lestajigs Posted 22 May 2012 Posted 22 May 2012 And yet Waghorn scored more league goals than him playing fro the bench for half of the season. Our playoff season yes he did, BUT the following season you can't deny he was piss poor?? It's only my opinion but come on, beckford has a lot more quality than waghorn

Most 'exciting' players who are willing to play in the Championship are inconsistent, that's been our problem. Our playoff season yes he did, BUT the following season you can't deny he was piss poor?? It's only my opinion but come on, beckford has a lot more quality than waghorn He barely played, often came off the bench with just 5-10 minutes to change a game and was played on the wing or as a lone striker, not his natural position or the role he would be playing this season/under Nigel.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 22 May 2012 Posted 22 May 2012 Goals Give Waghorn a whole season and he will be able to get more than 9 goals in the league...

I agree entirely .... but I'd go for exciting and inconsistent over consistently OK but nothing exciting.
Callabinho Posted 22 May 2012 Posted 22 May 2012 Slightly wayward here but I think Schlupp should be loaned out for a season?
Babylon Posted 23 May 2012 Posted 23 May 2012 Beckford / Bamba it doesn't matter .... Big Nige will get rid .... they are exciting to watch and have the potential to be brilliant and then awful in the same game. Consistently average is where it's at for NP - so there'll be no place for anyone with the ability to turn a game. I just wish someone had told Beckford that only league goals count for Leicester fans when criticising a player that's not always average ... he really wasted his time scoring in the cup. And yet these wonderfully exciting players failed to get us anywhere near where unexciting players like Wayne Brown got us. As for them even being exciting, if you mean Bamba ****ing up and then saving himself by the skin of his teeth, yeah I suppose your heart would skip a beat compared to the defender just casually clearing it first time. How many times was Beckford "exciting" last year. Boro at home he was absolutely fantastic, forest at home in the cup he was exciting. I'd honestly struggle to get excited about any of his other appearances. I agree entirely .... but I'd go for exciting and inconsistent over consistently OK but nothing exciting. Is Beckford any more "exciting" than Nugent? What's the criteria exactly?
Babylon Posted 23 May 2012 Posted 23 May 2012 Really? Ipswich away, Hull home his goals turned the game. I just hope he takes some risks on some exciting players. Like a non league player bashing in 30+ goals a year?
Lambert09 Posted 23 May 2012 Posted 23 May 2012 Give Waghorn a whole season and he will be able to get more than 9 goals in the league... I dont doubt that.... but I think if you gave Beckford another season he also would score more than 9
crisp packet Posted 23 May 2012 Posted 23 May 2012 j.b scored 15 goals ffs ( yes 9 was in the league ) Drogba scored 13 goals last season ( 5 in the league ) zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
HEGGSY Posted 23 May 2012 Posted 23 May 2012 Didier Drogba scored goals that led Chelsea to Champions League and FA Cup glory. Beckford helped us limp to 9th in the Championship. It's an irrelevant point in all fairness and I have nothing against JB. Just saying.
Adster Posted 23 May 2012 Posted 23 May 2012 You have to look at what Drogba brings to the table also. A powerful, aerial presence with excellent hold up play and an outstanding ability to muscle defenders off the ball. Does JB have any of that? No. And as stated above, trying to compare Drogba to JB is absolutely ridiculous.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 23 May 2012 Posted 23 May 2012 I dont doubt that.... but I think if you gave Beckford another season he also would score more than 9 I don't see it in him that he wants to play for the club.
Libertine Posted 23 May 2012 Posted 23 May 2012 Hear we're after Sanchez Watt from Arse. From an Arse source.
Ric Flair Posted 23 May 2012 Posted 23 May 2012 Hear we're after Sanchez Watt from Arse. From an Arse source. Left winger ain't he? Not a bad player, right up Pearson's alley.
Libertine Posted 23 May 2012 Posted 23 May 2012 Yep. Was at Wednesday for a short while last year but Megson didn't renew due to him not being up to it physically. Went to Crawley afterwards.
Happy Fox Posted 23 May 2012 Posted 23 May 2012 Darren @DarrenArsenal1 Leicester I am told interested in Sanchez-Watt #arsenal Is this the source of the info on Watt?
Adster Posted 23 May 2012 Posted 23 May 2012 Sanchez Watt is gash. He couldn't even break into the Wednesday team in L1 last season.
Happy Fox Posted 23 May 2012 Posted 23 May 2012 Sanchez Watt is gash. He couldn't even break into the Wednesday team in L1 last season. Had a spell at Leeds in the championship were he shined, tbf at Wednesday the Ginger Mouriniho was in charge and you know he won't utilize wingers to the best effect.
lcfcsnow Posted 23 May 2012 Posted 23 May 2012 Had a spell at Leeds in the championship were he shined, tbf at Wednesday the Ginger Mouriniho was in charge and you know he won't utilize wingers to the best effect. Wrong. He was used as a backup to Gradel.
Happy Fox Posted 23 May 2012 Posted 23 May 2012 Wrong. He was used as a backup to Gradel. All right so he couldn't displace Gradel so he must be shit than..., at least we are looking at wingers who knows he may be one of a number of options we are considering it isn't the end of the world.

I admire your optimism but he couldn't get in the Crawley side either, get real if we're after Heskey and Watt were in for a very long and frustrating season.
Libertine Posted 23 May 2012 Posted 23 May 2012 Darren @DarrenArsenal1 Leicester I am told interested in Sanchez-Watt #arsenal Is this the source of the info on Watt? Yes. Only got it from a RT from our good friend and former Foxestalker Tilley. Don't think the guy is full of rubbish but don't know if reliable either.
Babylon Posted 23 May 2012 Posted 23 May 2012 get real if we're after Heskey and Watt were in for a very frustrating season. Like when we were after Mills and Beckford for £6m+ then. Pearson will take a punt on a few players here and there, hid did last time with Verma and the long haired chap from Liverpool. Doesn't mean they are going to be in the squad as those mentioned weren't.
