Race Across The World is such a good show, why do the BBC insist on every single contestant needing a sob story?

Drama series about a hot headed Scotsman who travels to backwater America, getting a load of six-fingered Yanks to sort their lives out in no uncertain terms. Simmering with tension and beautifully acted.

Give it a watch, Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares USA it's called.

Going to check out 'Margo's Got Money Troubles' on Apple with Elle Fanning, Michelle Pfeiffer, Nicole Kidman and Nick Offerman on Apple TV.

Watched the first couple of episodes - Pfiefer is hilarious in this.

Yeah, she's great!

I've seen all five episodes. Wasn't sure about it at first, but it picked up for me when Nick Offerman comes in.

Finished Pluribus this evening. Really liked it. Quite slow moving if you're comparing to something like Breaking Bad, but it fits the world of the show. Hate waiting so long between seasons though!

S1 of BB was pretty slow. I remember I contemplated leaving it alone after S1 any way.

Loving Rooster on HBO.

Steve Carell is either a big hit or a big miss for me but I think this is just perfect for him.

Just been catching up with Monarch: Legacy of Monsters-season 2. Really enjoying it, i'm very much a fan of the Godzilla & Kong type movies and season 2 is not letting me down (about half way thru.)

Anyone else watched?

Yep, me and the other half love it. Each episode is like a mini-movie.

Better than Stranger Things IMO.

Anyone else not enjoying The Boys this season? I really don't know what the writers are playing at but it's giving serious GOT final season vibes. Rushed, and character assassination for no real reason.

First season was fantastic, since then the creators are clearly suffering from TDS.

So finally got around to watching star trek academy. Then find out season 2 has finished filming and will be the end of that show.

So that makes 5 attempts at a star trek from this "new era of trek" and 2 have been what I'd call at an acceptable level.

How the hell can you miss with trek that much? The accidental hit rate should be more than 40% considering the existing fanbase lol

The major reasons for the Star Trek franchise downfall:

Lack of respect for the canon

Lack of respect for Roddenberry's vision

Little to no interest in technology or how technology works

Untalented writers

DEI

Star Trek Picard managed to pay tribute in Season Three only.

Star Trek Academy was simply an attempt at Riverdale in Space. Feelings over facts.

In general, current movie and TV show creators are obsessed with opening up the "male space" for a female audience. A trend that has been dominating since about 2010, 2015.

Problem is: Science Fiction and superheroes stories (starting with the comics) have always been and will always be appealing to a male fanbase predominantly. Once you show them the middle finger, they're gone.

The Punisher: One Last Kill was enjoyable! Nothing revolutionary, bitesized and an introduction to the MCU for those going into Spiderman: BND without prior knowledge to him. So strange seeing brutality like that coming into Disney's MCU but a welcome change!

Really enjoyed Legends on Netflix.

Now watching Tucci in Italy season 2, sensational television imho

Personally found these far too DEI coded.
