BHAFC Braders Posted 5 May 2013 Posted 5 May 2013 Making sure Howard Webb is ref Lamby, We can analyse the whys, ifs, buts, whats and wherefores till the cows come home. However no matter how terrible were exposed as being, we will still have finished second in the table. I'll settle for being shit and promoted any day. We can worry about the rest next year. Congratulations for Yesterday
ruisliptiger Posted 5 May 2013 Posted 5 May 2013 Congratulations for Yesterday Thank you. I'm backing Brighton in the Play-offs. I'd love to see a fresh face at the top. Plus it would add a certain symmetry to this. http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/division-three/1997-1998/table

BHAFC Braders Posted 7 May 2013 Posted 7 May 2013 Wolves sack Saunders So the hunt for Manager number 5 in the last 16 months is on for Wolves.
KFS Posted 7 May 2013 Posted 7 May 2013 So the hunt for Manager number 5 in the last 16 months is on for Wolves. Jesus Christ that's embarrassing.
Fox92 Posted 7 May 2013 Posted 7 May 2013 http://www.shropshirestar.com/sport/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2013/05/06/you-can-stick-your-shirt-roger-johnson-say-wolves-fans/ I used to like Roger Johnson, but not now. I didn't realise how much of a **** he was. Also, O'Hara, never liked him and always thought he was overrated. "O’Hara was the only Wolves player not to acknowledge the fans after turning his back on them at the final whistle and storming from the field. The fans furiously turned on him when he remained on the turf behind the goal, punching the ground as play continued, before sarcastically raising his thumb when they chanted ‘£40,000-a-week, you’re having a laugh’. Even Brighton’s fans joined in and sided with Wolves supporters, chanting ‘You stupid b------s, you’ve let your fans down’." "Johnson has plenty of ‘previous’ controversy with Wolves and the fans. After being dropped from the team and stripped of the captaincy by then boss Terry Connor, he infamously turned up for training showing the effects of alcohol following the 5-0 defeat at Fulham on March 4, 2012. Later that month he was involved in an angry clash with goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey then goaded fans from the touchline in the last game of the season at Wigan, applauding the Latics supporters when Wolves’ shouted abuse at him." "Last month, he petulantly kicked at an advertising hoarding after Kevin Doyle’s winning goal against Bristol City, then argued with protesting fans who invaded the pitch against Burnley last week. Johnson, who was the club’s top earner on £42,000-a-week when they were in the Premier League, is one of the players Saunders will look to move on this summer, if he gets the go-ahead to carry on from chairman Steve Morgan." Kenny Jackett has quit as Millwall Manager I like Kenny Jackett. Done a good job at Millwall over the years, including getting them to Wembley a few times. Pretty sure he could get a solid job in the Championship with another club, or maybe even take over a club like Wolves. In fact, I would think he could be in for the Wolves job.

I get the impression he's jumping a sinking ship. Despite the Wembley trips, Millllllllll have finished in increasingly poor league positions year on year. Think he's out of ideas and wants to get out before he gets them relegated.
ADK Posted 7 May 2013 Posted 7 May 2013 Millwall don't have the resources to go any higher. Could be either the Wolves or the Blackburn job?
Corky Posted 7 May 2013 Posted 7 May 2013 So the hunt for Manager number 5 in the last 16 months is on for Wolves. They've been shambolically run in the last two years. Just a series of bad decisions, managerial appointments, and the wages being paid to average players is remarkable.
Kitchandro Posted 7 May 2013 Posted 7 May 2013 Yeh good decision by Jackett, and dare I say it, Wolves as well. They have got to get their next appointment right, I wouldn't hold my breath though.
ADK Posted 7 May 2013 Posted 7 May 2013 At least Wolves were one of the clubs who managed their finances properly, so they should be able to bounce back.
AKCJ Posted 7 May 2013 Posted 7 May 2013 At least Wolves were one of the clubs who managed their finances properly No they didn't.
ealingfox Posted 7 May 2013 Posted 7 May 2013 Best of luck to Kenny Jackett, always liked him, but fair to say he might well have seen an iceberg up ahead and he probably has taken them as far as he can. Would be a very savvy appointment for Wolves but I imagine he'll want another Championship job. He's not bald so doesn't qualify for Blackburn.
ADK Posted 7 May 2013 Posted 7 May 2013 Any former prem team will have players on high wages, but their profit/loss was ok as posted in another thread. They arnt in debt.
StanSP Posted 7 May 2013 Posted 7 May 2013 They've been shambolically run in the last two years. Just a series of bad decisions, managerial appointments, and the wages being paid to average players is remarkable. Sounds familiar.
Danno Posted 7 May 2013 Posted 7 May 2013 Wolves sack SaundersQuite harsh as he did get them out of a really tough league.
Leicesterpool Posted 7 May 2013 Posted 7 May 2013 Quite harsh as he did get them out of a really tough league. Saunders wasn't to blame for Wolves relegated it was down to their chairman Moxey, If i was Wolves I'd go for Gary Johnson of Yeovil (if they don't go up) though i can see Wolves making another poor appointment. Wouldn't rule out McLeish heading there. Also heard Jackett has left Millwall, I can see them going down next season!

Wouldn't rule out McLeish heading there. When he took over Wolves were 7 points clear of relegation he managed to get 20 points out of a possible 60.He took Doncaster down the year before after taking 35 points out of a possible 117. I was browsing the Wolves forum earlier today and they had a thread with his quotes. I recommend you take a look some of the things he's came out with are classics. Here's three I found funny "The players have some pride – they don’t want to play in League One. Apart from Saturday, every time we’ve needed a win we’ve got one. "If the lad misses his two goals we would've drawn" "When we have a team talk the players know that the only reason I talk to them is to make myself feel better"
