THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 Looks the wrong decision for me. Yellow card tops
21st Century Fox Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 I could have imagined this but I'm sure they said on Football Weekly Extra that Raheem Sterling is expecting his third kid from a third different mother and he's 17!!!
Lamby Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 Poor Jonjo We started him up for that step up
Guest ttfn Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 That's a tough one. It was reckless and he looked out of control, but not sure if it deserves a red. If you lead with 2 feet, you should be sent off. If one leg isn't planted, or largely supported by the ground, you're putting a dangerous amount of force into the tackle. I could have imagined this but I'm sure they said on Football Weekly Extra that Raheem Sterling is expecting his third kid from a third different mother and he's 17!!! Huge lad.
Jimothy Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 Just rewound back to watch the sending off again (I know Halsey doesn't have this option). Evan has both feet off the ground as much as Shelvey, so they are both going into that tackle with no control and a lot of force, so maybe Evans should have gone too. Should Shelvey be the only one to go because Evans happens to come out of it worse (or perhaps pretend to be injured best), when they're both just as bad as each other? We've seen people go before for lunging in without making much contact because of the intent of the tackle, so with that in mind Evans has to go. His writhing in agony is what's saved him.

Similar to the Danns sending off against Hull last season. Shelvey/Danns were probably slightly worse in the tackle than the Hull player and Evans, but in both cases both should have been sent off.
Guest ttfn Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 The United away end looked brilliant then.
Jimothy Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 How on earth did Johnson's "tackle" cause Valancia to fall over. He ****ed up the chance, should have pulled the trigger earlier, realised and has gone done like he's been shot. Johnson is nowhere near the player or the ball.
Super_horns Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 The Manchester clubs were very lucky to get the points they did...
ScouseFox Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 I could have imagined this but I'm sure they said on Football Weekly Extra that Raheem Sterling is expecting his third kid from a third different mother and he's 17!!! It's definitely 2 from 2 different birds. Went on a shagging spree when out celebrating his Liverpool contract last year. May have added a third since.
foxfanazer Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 Worse united squad I can remember seeing in my lifetime today. Nobody to retain possession, no flair from the midfield and just generally hit enough quality. Liverpool can feel very hard done by imo. Shelvey did nothing different to Evans, and the penalty decision was shocking. Also how did evra not got booked for that challenge on Sterling?
morris1234 Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 What gets me with the tackle like today is that is such a known situation that players will react, like Evans did, in a way that's , shall we say not theatrical, but almost in shock and roll in the most awkward way to bring attention to the tackle. Evans led with 2 feet also, both big tackles. 2 footed tackles for me, always a red. There's no excuse or reasoning to go into another player with both feet. HOWEVER, this whole, studs showing thing is ridiculous and becoming another one of those in written laws nowadays. What if you can get a decent run up and smooth stretch into a slide tackle, sometimes the situation arises whereby you'll need to stretch for that ball whilst stationary or after a sprint. Both will result in an over reach of your knee an make the challenge seem high! It's ridiculous! If a player slides in and the studs are showing, even with huge force, then you have to expect it! It's a contact sport. If those studs are showing whilst being a foot or so off the floor (not At ball level) and are hovering around the shin and ankle area then this is dangerous play. But not always intended and the ex players on sky sports make it so cut and dry when I would go as far as to say that inntheir generation, such challenges were applauded. I understand referees cannot deal with symantics , particularly in the heat and pace of the game and the rule is somewhat to make an example and excuse the pun, stamp it out. But at the opposite side of the spectrum, at the incredible pace they play at, it's difficult. I Feel for referees making these decisions , particularly with the occasion associated with the Man U - Liverpool game. As much as I hate Liverpool, decisions can ruin a game outright and if anything, both men deserved a yellow or red EACH.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 Coincidence? Freaky or what? Gerrard scored on 45:51. Shelvey was send off on 38:58. Refael scored on 51:45. Van Persie scored on 80:16. And they all add up to 96. Mark of respect to the 96
StanSP Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 That's not freaky at all cos it's all incorrect .
Corky Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 Fear for Norwich this year, can't see where the goals are coming from.
Libertine Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 That's not freaky at all cos it's all incorrect . Knew it was bullshit as soon as I read it.
StanSP Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 Knew it was bullshit as soon as I read it. Going all over Twitter now. Too many people jumping on the bandwagon about it. Annoying me a lot .
FoxyPV Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 The Man Utd penalty decision was wrong. Johnson didn't touch Valencia.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 The Man Utd penalty decision was wrong. Johnson didn't touch Valencia. Agreed. Valencia wasted the chance and knew it, so decided to go over.
Jimothy Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 The Man Utd penalty decision was wrong. Johnson didn't touch Valencia. That, plus the fact Liverpool should have had one at the other end.Evans didn't get anywhere near the ball when he tackled Suarez, for some reason when Lawro mentioned it on MOTD2 they showed it on a poor angle, but in the actual highlights, all the other angles show he got nothing of the ball and a lot of Suarez.
RonnieTodger Posted 24 September 2012 Posted 24 September 2012 Just seen United fans' chants after the game on SkySports. Appalling.
Leicesterpool Posted 24 September 2012 Posted 24 September 2012 Just seen United fans' chants after the game on SkySports. Appalling. I know it's very disgusting!, they should find the supporters who started the chant and ban them from every ground in the country!
Soar Fox Posted 24 September 2012 Posted 24 September 2012 Just seen United fans' chants after the game on SkySports. Appalling. There were also reports of a couple of Liverpool fans taunting Man Utd fans with paper airplanes.
Super_horns Posted 24 September 2012 Posted 24 September 2012 As bad as each other really...despite the Pre-match respect the abuse was always likely to kick-off again soon enough. See the poor ref has had some on Twitter as well.
