Torquay v Leicester City - League Cup Match Thread

Depends on what was said and if there was provocation etc. More often than not a warning and then a short ban of 24 hours to reflect if it carries on. The more points you rack up the longer the bans will get.

We all flip now and again, I'm no saint and have had warnings myself, but his response to a valid point was OTT.

Well no, the match vs Cardiff City where Gallagher scored twice (one a fúcking sublime free kick) was followed by the comment from PeterboroFox that is in my sig, that "scoring goals means nothing" if you don't play well to go with it. And assuming neither of you are there and are just going off commentary, Marshall has been completely ineffective bar his free kick. Yet Marshall deserves tremendous praise for his superb free kick and Gallagher gets "yeah but he didn't win a header from one of Kasper's goal kicks".

Don't want to make this a Gallagher thread, just saying it's more evidence that no matter what he does, people just seem to dislike Gally for some reason, as when Marshall does the exact same thing he becomes a hero, and Gallagher gets stick.

For me, Marshall isn't a hero. Obviously nowhere near that status yet.

I give Gallagher a lot of stick (it appears I do anyway) because as I said, more often that not he doesn't put in any effort, and from what I've seen of Marshall, he produces on a regular level than Gallagher. For example, ok, he scored two goals against Cardiff as you mentioned, but after that did nothing again. Where as Marshall is fairly consistent. He also has more to his game than Gallagher, which, if we look at the squad numbers, Nigel can even see.

And Mark_w. It's not often I disagree with you, I usually agree with your sensible posts, but I'm not 'bored with him'. I just don't think he's good enough. Might be creative and decent when going forward (good for when we're at home) but the other side of his game isn't good enough. He doesn't tackle, he doesn't challenge for headers etc.. This makes him ineffective in the physical games, and there are alot of these in this divison.

I admit I've booed before, but I've booed the team, not an idividual. I would never single out an individual within football or not.

And James has scored :scarf:

Stringer loves abit of exaggeration

"Marshall dances through 3/4 players"

Charleston or moonwalk?

That kind of stuff is going out of the game sadly. Maybe Balotelli will bring it back.

All 3 goals came from Pearson signings...

:pearson:

I'd imagine so... there are only 3 playing that aren't! (if you don't count home grown)
