artursteppe Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 It never cease to amaze me how folks come onto this site and tell us all 'I think we'll finish 5th or 6th', or 'we'll just about get into the top six', or 'we'll be mid table', or 'we've got no chance of promotion'. Come on then all you guys who are so negative, I challenge you to name the teams who you think will finish above us. Of course from person to person those 'superior' teams to us will be different, but one thing is certain, we could all have a big laugh, if any of you have got the bollards to do it.
Stig the Lawnmower Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 those in the premier league, that's all. up the city!
Guest Col city fan Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 In order: Bolton Wolves Blackburn Sheff Weds Hull Leeds CITY IMO. However, why are you 'never ceased to be amazed' why people come on here and say 'a top six finish'? It's hardly amazing is it....? You're very easily amazed...
marty78 Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 There are some good sides in this league but I don't see why any of them should be certainties for finishing above us. I have gone for 1st in the prediction thread anyway.

I have no idea where we'll finish. It's stupid to make predictions - you don't have any data. Why are you presuming all of a sudden that we're now automatically better than all the teams who finished above us last season and three teams who played in the top flight last season? You haven't even seen this Leicester side play any Championship matches. Of course I want us to finish top of the league. But to say we will or, conversely, that we won't is nothing but baseless speculation. But if you really must compile lists, based on last season's data, I've seen nothing to suggest we're now better than Blackpool, Birmingham, Cardiff, Bolton, Wolves or Blackburn. Will we be this season? Who knows.

It never ceases to amaze you that people have an opinion on the team they support? Also, are you saying predictions of 5th or 6th are unduly negative? Weird post. Anyways I think the teams that will finish above us: Bolton, Blackburn, Birmingham, Wolves, Cardiff.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 I think Bolton, if they don't mess up something stupid, could quite confidently finish top. I predict the second spot will be possibly Charlton or a similar surprise (to have a late surge like Reading did). I think we'll finish somewhere in the playoffs with similar points to Wolves. Blackburn 8th-10th. Steve Kean's an imbecile, I don't think anyone but the owners back him.
Weller in Tights Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 In order: City Then the rest. Always start the season with this prediction. Blind faith? well if people can believe in deities with blind faith, then I can believe we will win the league!!! I was correct in 1971 and 1980 (born in 1960 so I can't claim being correct for any other titles) how many times can you guys say you got the exact position correct? COME ON LEICESTER, COME ON LEICESTER!!!

Bolton, Blackburn, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Birmingham City, Cardiff City, Middlesbrough probably a few others too but I would be happy myself for a top 6 finish even if we didn't get promotion it would be a step moving in the right direction with a good young team and financial backing
MrSpaM Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 I didn't realise so many people don't even think we'll get in the playoffs I honestly think we have a squad that can challenge for promotion
fleckneymike Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 Let's be rational about this. We can assume that at best 2 of the relegated sides will occupy a top 6 birth (all 3 doing so last season was an anomaly), that leaves 4 - 5 positions up for grabs.
Fox92 Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 I dare! And I'm predicting; Bolton Blackburn Hull Leeds Wolves Leicester
stevelcfc Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 We will win the league, just because of how MASSIVE we are.

Will we be this season? Who knows. Add one or two dark horses and that about sums the situation up. Nothing in pre-season gives serious insight into our our own capabilities, tactics or durability - one way or the other - and it is mostly guesswork as far as the opposition goes too. What might be said though is that we need a much better start than we usually manage. Apart from our promotion season, we've faltered from the start line far too often and have all but lost touch with the top two within a couple of months on some occasions. It's a handicap we can't afford and neither is the sort of negative approach to winning that has been such a feature of those seasons. Like you I make no worthwhile predictions but after the abject failure of our previous playing policies at championship level for over a decade it really is time we had a proper go for once and set out to win games with a bit of style and emphasis. Tireless work, ruthless consistency and 80-odd goals is what I want to see.
Guest MattP Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 Bolton, Blackburn, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Birmingham City, Blackpool

Ashley Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 Birmingham, Blackburn, Bolton, Wolves, Middlesbrough. In no order but I can see them finishing above us.
Carter The Boss Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 1 Bolton 2 Birmingham 3 Cardiff 4 City 5 Blackpool 6 Wolves We avenge our playoff semi defeat against Cardiff and beat Wolves in the final. How do you like that for some bollards... BOOM!
Guest Col city fan Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 Col Col Col we need to meet up and I will give you some of my positive pills Don't get me wrong mate I'm dead positive but also realistic. I've said a few times now I don't think this will be our promotion season, but actually next season, if Nige stays and his young guns become well established. I'd love to see us go up but I'm just being honest.
Captain... Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 Trying to predict this league is just impossible, you are either going to be wrong or lucky.
