Outfox the Fox Posted 7 October 2012 Posted 7 October 2012 Rumours have started to circulate up here this weekend (I'm in Geordie/Mackem-land) that Connor Wickham is on his way to City on loan. He was left out of MoN's squad for the Man City game yesterday, with a view to tie-ing up a deal with City over the International break (he's in the Under 21 squad). I guess Beckford being shipped out, could well mean this could happen?
ealingfox Posted 7 October 2012 Posted 7 October 2012 Decent. Doesn't he play the same role as I imagine Futacs will though?
Jimmy Posted 7 October 2012 Posted 7 October 2012 Decent. Doesn't he play the same role as I imagine Futacs will though? Ipswich used him on the left of a 433 a lot as well
Happy Fox Posted 7 October 2012 Posted 7 October 2012 Another good option to have as well would bolster out striking options because besides Nugent and Vardy we are looking a little thin.
Fmfox Posted 7 October 2012 Posted 7 October 2012 i like the look of futacs, think he could do a job, lets give him a chance against birmingham!
Finnegan Posted 7 October 2012 Posted 7 October 2012 Beginning to wonder why we signed Futacs. He was free.
Libertine Dream Posted 7 October 2012 Posted 7 October 2012 There has been murmurings of this all summer and would gladly take him as he would improve the squad.
MooseBreath Posted 7 October 2012 Posted 7 October 2012 I signed him twice on FM2011 but always struggled to get him to develop. His potential ability seems high but will he ever make it there?
Tielemans63 Posted 7 October 2012 Posted 7 October 2012 Think he'd be a great addition - would take some of the pressure off Vardy too.
Sir Shep Posted 7 October 2012 Posted 7 October 2012 I'd presume though that Sunderland would want him playing first team football and frankly I cannot see that happening here, now we seem to have a settled team, unless NP is shipping out another on loan..........
Fox42 Posted 7 October 2012 Posted 7 October 2012 What happened to trimming our squad? This would dent the team morale and confidence of our current strikeforce. Give it time and it it's necessary then sign him up but I don't think so. We have plenty of options as it is. I say we should be knocking on the doors come January if we're still up there in the table to bolster our squad for the long term. Edit: I misread the "on loan" bit. Apologies
foxesfan1989 Posted 7 October 2012 Posted 7 October 2012 I used to rate him SO highly. I think I got carried away and put him in my fantasy football team when he went to Sunderland. Hasn't worked out though, I would still take him here!
Munshi Posted 7 October 2012 Posted 7 October 2012 He'd be a great option and would give vardy some competion
Iwan is a Welshman Posted 7 October 2012 Posted 7 October 2012 We've spent the summer trying to trim our squad and got 2 strikers who potentially are good enough and yet to have a chance. Why would we bring someone else in? Plus, Wickham never really set this division alight. He was just exceptionally young. ...and we've won 5 on the bounce, and just finally got the squad settled. It's not a great time to be making a new addition after a couple of seasons of uncertainty. Team needs time to gel and constantly adding players isn't going to help that.
Guest Bilo Posted 7 October 2012 Posted 7 October 2012 I have the feeling he could molest the Championship playing in a side with confidence, which we most definitely are at the moment. As has already been said, it wouldn't half take some of the pressure off Vardy and/or Nugent over the coming weeks. I'd be pleased with this signing if it comes off.
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 7 October 2012 Posted 7 October 2012 Beginning to wonder why we signed Futacs. I think Pearson might be wondering the same...

marty78 Posted 7 October 2012 Posted 7 October 2012 Not really sure of a new striker on loan unless the belief is that the current back up players are not up to getting us through until January and I would rather see Schlupp get a chance than someone else's player. I personally would rather see a defender added, especially if SSL is going to be missing for any length of time.
FoxLAD Posted 7 October 2012 Posted 7 October 2012 would be happy with this!, but would also like Futacs to be given a chance too.
Leicester_Numan Posted 7 October 2012 Posted 7 October 2012 I'd be happy to bring him in but already having 3 other options up front I would imagine one of them would be heading out to get some game time
kingfox Posted 7 October 2012 Posted 7 October 2012 I like Wickham class act at this level. Hopefully this is true, because despite our squad being on amazing form, no harm in getting the depth up because we only have about 18-19 players, while there is also no harm in making our squad even stronger.
Albert Posted 7 October 2012 Posted 7 October 2012 I was told about this quite a few weeks back and mentioned it in an old thread. Pearson has been after him for a while now. Think it would be a cracking signing for us
FoxLAD Posted 7 October 2012 Posted 7 October 2012 i feel his hight is what we are lacking in out current strikers. someone to aim for in the box!
