Fox in the North Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 They're scum products from a scum nation. Bit over the top there, I'm pretty sure that not everyone in one nation is scum. Yes the people involved need to be punished and so does the u21 team, but not everyone in same country will think and act like that and besides you get people like that in every country if you know where to look.
breadandcheese Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 According to Stuart Pearce, Savo Milosevic came into the dressing room to apologise, presumably for the racist chanting. Rose kicked the ball into the crowd, which indicates he was retaliating to something, especially when put with his gesticulation of a monkey as he left the field. What set the confrontation off between the teams, who knows, but the reports I've read suggest it was a reaction to Rose kicking the ball into the crowd. If this is the reason, there's no need to react from the Serbian team as it's for the referee to look after. The question I pose is was Rose right to react? Clearly, it is against all the rules for a player to react, hence the red card. Fans complain when a player flicks them the middle finger, even if they've been provoking him and abusing him all game. If he hadn't reacted, walked off the pitch and there was no brawl, would UEFA care about the racist chanting and coin throwing that went on throughout the game? Would a complaint from England have merited much? Or will the fact that Rose reacted, there was a brawl and ugly scenes, be potentially beneficial as it will force UEFA to act and not allow events like this to be swept under the carpet?
Darkon84 Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 I just knew that the whole thing about last nigt would be turned 100% racist. Yes theres evidence of racism, yes its terrible, and yes, they should be banned or have a fitting punishment, more than a small fine and a slap on the wrist (which we all know will be the probable outcome) because things like that have NO place in modern society and sport. Racism is a terrible thing, but come on, there were punches, headbutts, kicks, going on out there, chairs, stones and coins being thrown by the crowd too. These guys were in serious danger of being physically injured too, but of course that doesnt matter. As mentioned already by someone. This seems to be Serbia's 'default' position. Things dont go their way and the kick off as much as possible. It has happened before, and will happen again unless Uefa and FIfa do something serious about it this time. If it was English fans/players, theyd have an absolute fvcking field day!

The world can see how idiotic everyone behaved and no ban or fine will change it or stop it from happening again i'm afraid.
purpleronnie Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 The whole scenario makes me laugh, if it happened in this country or by England fans you can guarantee we would be banned from the next tournament. However, seeing as it was by the Serbs, they will get fined £300 and a pack of skittles I've never understood this arguement, was there a ban for england after a similiar incident?
Father Ted Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 Weren't every English football team was banned from European competitions for 5 years after the action of some fans at Heysel? Pretty sure that was UEFA. They didn't seem too bothered about the innocent parties missing out on football then... How does innocent fans being killed compare anything to racism?
yorkie1999 Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 I don't speak the language but monkey noises are pretty much the same in any language http://www.101greatg...y-of-the-crowd/ And that is the crux of the problem with racism. Gareth Bale gets chanted at all the time about looking like a chimp, what does he do, shrugs his shoulders and gets on with it even though he looks like a chimp. If you were a black person and stood in the street and yelled "I'm black and i'm proud" people would look at you and think well done you're making a statement of who you are. If you were a white person and did the same people would call you a racist cvnt. Same as the Mobo awards. If their was an award for white music it would be deemed as racist. This is where its all wrong.
RobHawk Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 Just seen this on BBc website, says it all about how pathetic UEFA really are "Did you know? Manchester City were fined £24,740 by Uefa for returning to the field less than a minute late against Porto in Match - a fine 50% greater than the one issued to Porto over the racial abuse of Mario Balotelli A match between England and Serbia in the 2007 Under-21 European Championship in the Netherlands saw England defender Nedum Onuoha racially abused. Serbia were fined £16,000 by Uefa"
Father Ted Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 Also, why are the papers making such a big deal about a 'pitch invasion from hooligans'? When there wasn't one?
Dan Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 Give them an international against Senegal away with no security Don't see why the Serbian senior team should suffer for this or the fans as a whole, punish their FA and target those for the trouble last night. Nomally agree with Dan, but saying the etntire country is scum; I don't A huge proportion of it seems to be. The fact that their coaches/players will have been fully aware of it gets me. Their "fans" were to be expected unfortunately but the players & coaches who are actually participating? That was worrying. They showed their true colours last night (no pun intended) and that was nothing short of a disgrace. Do I think racism will ever fully go away in Serbia? No. Do I think it will in England? Not fully. Do I think it can go away in football? Absolutely. If we ban them and keep banning them it will eventually go. A lot of the techniques in this country of dealing with racism have annoyed me in the past but last night was a massive eye opener really. We've done a pretty decent job.
Samilktray Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 And that is the crux of the problem with racism. Finnegan Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 lol lol Gareth Bale doesn't mind being called a chimp so it isn't racist to call black people monkies!?! What the actual ****!?
Babylon Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 Your comment about the MOBO's officially wins most retarded thing I've read this year. You could argue that any award to do with country music is an award just for white people.
Manwell Pablo Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 It's not the team's fault the fans are racist but it is their fault for starting a brawl. That alone should invite severe punishment. I'm afraid countries like Serbia are full of racists so banning them from tournaments doesn't really address the problem. They rarely qualify anyway. There are numerous countries who you could ban on the same grounds but the Serbs are one of the worst culprits for kicking off whether it's racially related or otherwise. Playing all senior and U21 home games behind closed doors is probably fairer than a ban. If you talking about the senior team they've qualified for 4 out of the last 8 major tournemants and in regards to world cups they've qualified for 3 out of the last 4, Hardly rarely. I don't know the U21s recornd and CBA to look it up . They should really make an example of them if they ever want to rid football of scenes like this.
purpleronnie Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 How does innocent fans being killed compare anything to racism? It doesn't he's a bit odd.
Babylon Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 lol lol Gareth Bale doesn't mind being called a chimp so it isn't racist to call black people monkies!?! What the actual ****!? He looks nothing like a monkee.
yorkie1999 Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 Your comment about the MOBO's officially wins most retarded thing I've read this year. Why? Don't you understand what i'm saying.

James. Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 That post is just massively retarded in every way (yorkie1999's). As is the notion that "well it's going to happen anyway so why bother doing anything about it". Serbia should be warned and fined under the agreement that if it happens again the senior team will be ejected from qualification for the World Cup.
Babylon Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 It doesn't he's a bit odd. I don't think he was comparing the two things. Just saying that a whole nations football teams had been banned previously for the actions of a few.
yorkie1999 Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 lol lol Gareth Bale doesn't mind being called a chimp so it isn't racist to call black people monkies!?! What the actual ****!? Didn't say he doesn't mind , just making the point he gets on with it.
yorkie1999 Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 Music of black origin. Try having an award called Music of white origin and see what the uproar would be like.
Manwell Pablo Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 Didn't say he doesn't mind , just making the point he gets on with it. So your saying Black players should just get on with it? And your essentially saying it's ok to be raceist?
21st Century Fox Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 Music of black origin. Try having an award called Music of white origin and see what the uproar would be like. Soooooo a classical music award.
