Babylon Posted 6 December 2012 Posted 6 December 2012 What it also shows is that I'm not adverse to backing down if its probable that I'm wrong. A lesson you yourself could learn as far as I can see. Thankfully for Mark he seems to have been correct on everything so far.
dmayne7 Posted 6 December 2012 Posted 6 December 2012 ipswich have been awesome though i have to agree. Whilst that might be a reason why he hasn't scored as many, the fact remains that he is currently their 3rd choice striker when they play a lone striker. Enough said really. I apologise for wishing that we sign players who might actually improve the team and help us to get promoted.
Mark_w Posted 6 December 2012 Posted 6 December 2012 Babylon, it's eating away at me, you were right about Steve Bruce. God doing that hurt. Worst moment of my life.
morris1234 Posted 6 December 2012 Posted 6 December 2012 Don't get why these threads often turn into a slagging match which often includes a separate battle over who can be the most creative in their use of vocab in an unrelated, irrelevant insult. But nevermind.... I'm all for debate, just goes too far sometimes. What I will say is there does seem to be certain posters that seem under the impression that Mr Pearson and his staff sit around most days in the transfer window, twiddling thumbs and combing Anthony's hair oh so gently, awaiting an epiphany that 'WAIT....lets sign players that make our team....wait for it....BETTER' if only it was this easy. Really grinds my gears, back up your point or selection of targets by all means - fair play. But the sort of comment I refered to i would expect to be made by one of the crazies who phone in on a Monday night and make a completely random point to the one they are actually discussing. For me it will be very interesting in January. Pearson and some players etc have commented on how the tight knitted nature of the side is helping, whether this was his intention at the start of the season, I don't know. This may be it in terms of permanent transfers until the summer so I think the loan window will be the way to go. Key areas for depth, not sure if I'm honest. Keane and lingard loan extensions gives us some cover, so maybe an experienced and versatile head can come in and do a job? Anybody's guess.

I've just sat through and read a good 4 pages of dribble, just when I was losing the will to carry on, finally this chap makes sense!
Happy Fox Posted 6 December 2012 Posted 6 December 2012 Interesting hearing what NP said about plans in the January transfer market seems quite pleased when you listen on the football forum so obviously it could well mean he is able to bring in his targets which he has identified which is good news.
kingfox Posted 6 December 2012 Posted 6 December 2012 And I thought I was bad when it came to discussing players. I actually agree with Mark for once, why do you want Emmanuel-Thomas so much Col, he is on the Ipswich bench and hasn't really done anything good for them, might score a goal and do a nice bit of play here and there, but he is overrated. To buy him as a central midfielder as well would be stupid, would take Drinkwater, King and James over him anyday, and Lingard for that matter. Yes we could do with a few more players in January, but Emmanuel-Thomas is a shocking shout that you mentioning him Col is becoming boring.

kingfox Posted 6 December 2012 Posted 6 December 2012 I never said any of that... You wouldn't want him though, and neither does Father Ted so I agree with all your comments.
Mark_w Posted 6 December 2012 Posted 6 December 2012 You wouldn't want him though, and neither does Father Ted so I agree with all your comments. I wouldn't judge him until I've seen him play for Leicester. I only don't want him because I don't want us to sign anyone particularly. Although I sense I'm pulling myself into another pointless argument so I'll stop now.
Corky Posted 6 December 2012 Posted 6 December 2012 I never said any of that... He did agree with Fez who wrote something completely different to him, so you're not alone.
Deucalion Posted 7 December 2012 Posted 7 December 2012 I have a tenuous link to two professional football players. One is Lloyd Dyer and the other is Chris Wood. Chris Wood is good friends with another former WBA academy player who was released at 18 and now plays for Forest Green. Chris Wood used to lodge with this players mum while an academy player. Said mum is a work colleague of mine. This is probably the one and only time where I might have some information to share but... There has been an enquiry from Leicester for Chris Wood. Obviously it might come to nothing and I will look a prat but I am assured it has happened.

Jaspa Posted 7 December 2012 Posted 7 December 2012 I dont fully understand the Chris Wood love-in He mustve played for 10+ clubs by now at some pretty bad levels, then the fact he has only recently shown any real quality and has been pretty average in League1 and then we already have Marko Futacs who could be of more use to us. I'm not fully against a move tho
Kitchandro Posted 7 December 2012 Posted 7 December 2012 I'm also not sure why people are crazy about him. I'm not saying he's shit or even that he's not good enough but I don't think he's proven much yet. If he was a few inches shorter I don't think he'd be getting mentioned so much.
Adster Posted 7 December 2012 Posted 7 December 2012 Jay Emmanuel-Thomas . Sorry Col, but he's fvcking crap, ask any Ipswich fan.
Captain... Posted 7 December 2012 Posted 7 December 2012 Re: Chris Wood Whenever I have seen him play which isn't that often he seems to score and play well. His stats look good: http://www.transferm...725_gesamt.html Has a better minutes per goal ratio than Nugent in the championship, although he hasn't played anywhere near as much. He is 20 years old, if we did sign him I would like to see him brought in as back up to Nugent, with a view to the future, Nugent and Wood as the main striker, Waghorn and Vardy as the second striker. Would probably be the end to Futacs' short yet sweet Leicester career.
Dan Posted 7 December 2012 Posted 7 December 2012 Wood sounds like the ideal signing to me, personally.
i luv u foxes Posted 7 December 2012 Posted 7 December 2012 Scott Sinclair??? Michael Chopra???? Jay Emmanuel Thomas???/ some of your heads have gone awful suggestions We dont need a striker vardy is a grafter, nugent gets goals, waghorn is hitting nice form, schlupp has abit about him futacs, beckford, panayiouto, hooper. So i think we have enough for the championship We need a defensive central midfielder id take Trotter We need defensive cover not sure i like Rhys Williams but is injured. I would extend Keane lone until end of season And i would love Matt Phillips from Blackpool if possible

i luv u foxes Posted 7 December 2012 Posted 7 December 2012 why leicester are above blackpool regarding chances of promotion no longer there star player think it would be worth a shout
maccy_96 Posted 7 December 2012 Posted 7 December 2012 Personally I think we might need a squad cb, as seem a little short in numbers, another lb because konch is getting on a bit and is gonna retire soon, a cm because we only have 3 decent ones, and another decent striker to partner nugent upfront
FrankieADZ Posted 7 December 2012 Posted 7 December 2012 why leicester are above blackpool regarding chances of promotion no longer there star player think it would be worth a shout i doubt we'd get Phillips tbf, regardless that we are above them in the league. they'd be looking for a £4-7million fee for him. & for 1....we wouldnt pay that. *I say that fee for the pure fact there chairman is a money grabber* on Wood, i dont personally think people are going crazy for him; im not, Im just being realistic to as what player we could actually get and fit the Pearson kinda mold.

He's 31
maccy_96 Posted 7 December 2012 Posted 7 December 2012 Retire soon? He's 31 Exactly, give him 3 years and he won't be as good as he is now, just my opinion though
