Vardy?

So many of you fail to recognise the contribution that he makes to the team. He adds so much more to the team that Beckford ever has. Works incredibly hard, creates space for others, has decent hold up play. The goals will come. To slate him when we are doing so well as a TEAM is beyond belief.

I don't think that Vardy is a bad player, but I don't think his partnership with Waghorn works. I personally think they are both the same kind of player (work hard, give it all etc), but don't seem to finish their chances. I think both of them do a decent job when combined with Nugent & I would be interested to see what either of them would play like when combined with Futacs but I suppose that's unlikely to happen.

I think Vardy has played well considering the jump he has made. He's created a lot of goals and had a great scoring start at the start of the season. TBH I wish we had just signed Le Fondre when we had the chance (or... many chances), would have been a better bet as a lower league player. That said, he shows promise and he'll be an important squad player for the remainder of the season.

he has came from non league all the way up to the champsionship to a side that is challenging for promotiom, hes still very young and obviously has the quality.

I think some people should just lay off him and let him find his feet.

Vardy don't look a bad player at all.

I think he links up well with whatever striker he's playing with.

However, I thought he was bought as an out and out goalscorer?

He looks no more than just a good squad player at present.

almost as bad a shout as dom joly in a cinema

I don't get it

HELLO? YEAH! I'M IN THE CINEMA! YEAH!

Interesting to see people still think Vardy is going to be a success at LCFC, he's in the midst of his career and can't control the ball whilst under pressure. A footballing basic. Even when he does manage to control the ball, he has had to concentrate so much that he hasn't got his head up and is invariably closed down before he can see what passes are on. He spent too long in the lower leagues and now will never be able to play in the Championship, and much less the Premiership, and all the effort he puts in can't disguise that.

superb pass to Waggy for our 2nd goal yesterday his workrate deserves a goal, he made a lot of space for Waggy first half yesterday, our good winning sequence earlier in the season was with Vardy/Nuge up front. Lets not forget its his first season at anything like this level of football, if he manages 10 goals hes done really well

I don't believe anyone is calling for the return of Beckford, nor do I feel the criticism on here is slating him. Many people share the opinion that his touch and decision making at this level is currently well below the required standard. From what I have read we all acknowledge his tireless running but many of us feel that for a million (with potential to rise to 1.7m pounds) he should be better.

It may well take him a season to acclimatise to this level but sadly he's joined a club where for better or worse you are not going to be afforded that time.

Yeah absolutely. I've seen enough of Vardy making a step up to think that he can keep improving and be an asset. I've seen 3 and a half season's of Waggy and that's enough for me Thanks!!!

Thankfully most people (including the manager) have seen what he's really capable of when fit, playing regularly and in his correct position.

No not crucify him, just admitting his rather limited capabilities at this level. It is clear that he has too far to come. Infact rather than being shortsighted I am looking in to the future and Pearson I think knows he's made a mistake with this one. I wish Vardy well but he will make no impact for us. League 2 and League 1 at a push.

Did you not see the quality of his assist for Waggy? League 1 or 2 your opinion, I'll take Niges over yours !

Yes I saw him pass the ball to Waghorn to set up the goal. Yippee

And how many players, especially most of our players, would have made the wrong decision? It was a fantastic and clever pass... I'm pretty sure if Messi, Rooney or Ronaldo would have played that ball through, everyone (especially the media) would be all over the 'only these players could see this pass'.

Think so many if our fans are clueless to be honest. It is not long ago drinkwater was being slated and the abuse Whitbread got was increadible he is a very solid defender.

Vardy has done very well so far and creates a lot of chances and will bag a few soon. No problem.

Fair enough, you don't rate him, a sarcastic tone does not validate your opinion..........I say time will tell and it's very early days considering the step up he's made.IMO the signs I see bode well, however at this point neither of us can definitively say, despite your sweeping statements. We will see.

Exactly. Drinkwater, Morgan, Whitbread, Marshall and before that even King were all slated. If Vardy starts playing well and scoring goals they'll start picking on someone else such as Konch or Dyer.

All fans ever do is moan, you'd think that after years of watching shite and being near the relegation and eventually relegated we'd be a bit happier that we are currently sitting in third, but no, not our fans, we need a striker who scores goals, someone like Beckford, because its as simple as that isn't it.

Bamba, Danns and occasionally Beckford (by certain people) have all been worshipped by our fans when in fact that weren't very good in a TEAM. Surprisingly with all these 'rubbish' individual players, we are currently sitting 3rd in the league. Still, Nige 'needs' a goalscoring forward else he'll get the sack.

Go figure...

People have been saying he'll bag soon for ages. If this was a certain other player some would be going mental though

Vardy is an asset to the team with his work rate alone, I think he just needs to find a bit of confidence from somewhere.

With Nugent on fire and Waghorn playing the best he's been since his return, Pearson will have a difficult choice on his hands very soon.

Only Leicester fans could moan about what players are being picked when we're 3rd in the league.

There is an odd little culture on here that if you can spot a failing it somehow makes you a football intellectual. More so if you can spot a failure in a winning team. It's a really grating element to our fans, unpleasant and counter productive.

Third position, best goal difference in the league and you get a little team of prats on FT saying Waghorn isn't good enough for the team because only scoring counts. Or Whitbread, or Dyer, or Vardy, or Drinky, or.... I don't know what the point of these people's lives is, must be horrible.

Yakubu - get rid...he only scores goals!

Waggy - Get rid .. he doesnt score goals!

its pretty simple really  .. Keep Vardy, he does neither :)

Exactly. I could understand moaning about our players if we were performing terribly, or moaning about goalscorers if we weren't winning games and scoring goals, but we're performing well, we're scoring goals and players are performing very well all over the pitch. This is probably the best season we've had since 02/03 - it beggars belief that people can still find something to moan about rather than just enjoying it. Seems like some people on here would still be moaning if we won the PL.
