broughtonblue Posted 29 November 2012 Posted 29 November 2012 Walcott is not in Arsenals 2013 calendar, surely must mean he is leaving?
kingfox Posted 29 November 2012 Posted 29 November 2012 How do you know? Did you buy yourself one, you glory hunting little
Guest MattP Posted 29 November 2012 Posted 29 November 2012 Of course, was in the papers at the weekend, he's going to Mercedes.
Ozwin Posted 29 November 2012 Posted 29 November 2012 Of course, was in the papers at the weekend, he's going to Mercedes.
Kitchandro Posted 29 November 2012 Posted 29 November 2012 Apparently he's also tweeted a picture of Stamford Bridge with the comment 'hopefully I'll be playing here in January'.
AyewJoking Posted 29 November 2012 Posted 29 November 2012 hmmm, i suppose if he goes anywhere it will be chelsea, the only ones stupid enough to pay the asking price.
broughtonblue Posted 29 November 2012 Author Posted 29 November 2012 How do you know? Did you buy yourself one, you glory hunting little Was mentioned on motd last night. Glory hunting and arsenal? Few years ago could have been said in same sentence but not now!
Fox92 Posted 29 November 2012 Posted 29 November 2012 Don't get him. Walcott was coming on as a decent player at Southampton but Wenger took a gamble on him really. He hasn't really done anything to prove he is a top player, I certainly/personally don't think he is top quality, and now won't sign a new contract or whatever. I know Arsenal haven't won anything in seven years but can he play at a more better level than Arsenal? I doubt it.
broughtonblue Posted 29 November 2012 Author Posted 29 November 2012 Got to agree, unfortunately think it's all about Money, curse of the modern game. Take Scott Sinclair as a recent example, great season last year then moves to man city, never heard of since. Got to be about money!
Jon the Hat Posted 29 November 2012 Posted 29 November 2012 Or maybe he is telling the truth and wants to play as the striker he believes he is.
Carl the Llama Posted 29 November 2012 Posted 29 November 2012 If he does end up leaving on a free I'd be surprised to see any teams which could do with him willing/being able to pay him the £100k/week region contract that he's after. Would be a good catch for the Baggies when Lukaku returns to Chelsea mind - different sort of player but I do genuinely believe Theo has the quality to be a key figure in a team like that, or maybe Liverpool who definitely need some more threat going forwards.
Pride_Of_The_Midlands Posted 29 November 2012 Posted 29 November 2012 It must be obvious to everyone by now that he is a striker, and not a winger. The boy has pace and he can finish - just like a young Michael Owen.

Walcott would easily get £100,000 if leaving on a free. Look at the calculation. Walcott is worth a conservative £10million if buying a player of similar quality. If a club is able to pick up Walcott on a free, they are saving themselves £10mill. £10 million saving over a three year contract is the equivalent of £3.3 mill per year or £63,400/week. Theo and his agent will therefore ask for a portion of that to top up his wages, which are currently in the region of £60-80k/week. So if Theo leaves on a free, he will have a huge payday. The player has the power. Arsenal should bite the bullet, as to sign a similar player, who gets 10 goals and 10 assists per season from the wing, will cost them more than giving Theo £100,000 per week.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 29 November 2012 Posted 29 November 2012 Remember years back being in Marios chippy on Braunstone Gate after playing football at Abbey Pastures on a friday night and I had a red and white striped top football top on and two lads asked me if I was a Southampton fan. Apparently they had come up and stayed over cos we were playing them (City - not me and my mates on a Friday night ) on Saturday and they were really excited about this speedy younger winger that had just burst on to the scene there. Can't remember his name now.
Stuliasz Posted 29 November 2012 Posted 29 November 2012 To steal from another website (F365), Arsenal players not included in Arsenal's 2013 calendar and will thus all exit the club during 2013: Lukasz Fabianski, Vita Mannone, Abou Diaby, Bacary Sagna, Laurent Koscielny, Sebastien Squillaci, Johan Djourou, Carl Jenkinson, Tomas Rosicky, Francis Coquelin, Andrey Arshavin, Theo Walcott, Gervinho, Marouane Chamakh.: Lukasz Fabianski, Vita Mannone, Abou Diaby, Bacary Sagna, Laurent Koscielny, Sebastien Squillaci, Johan Djourou, Carl Jenkinson, Tomas Rosicky, Francis Coquelin, Andrey Arshavin, Theo Walcott, Gervinho, Marouane Chamakh.

They're getting rid of all of them twice?
AKCJ Posted 29 November 2012 Posted 29 November 2012 He should go to someone lower down, possibly even back to Southampton, play up front and become a real hero and score some goals. To prove himself and get back into the England squad as the dangerous player he used to be.
kingfox Posted 29 November 2012 Posted 29 November 2012 Mentioned on MOTD, don't watch that anymore, all about Goals on Sunday with Kammy. Maybe he will go down the route of his little brother and apply to X Factor.
potter3 Posted 29 November 2012 Posted 29 November 2012 Apparently he's also tweeted a picture of Stamford Bridge with the comment 'hopefully I'll be playing here in January'. But Arsenal are playing there in January.
Leicesterpool Posted 29 November 2012 Posted 29 November 2012 Villa would be a good destination for him
Matt Posted 29 November 2012 Posted 29 November 2012 Gutted for Arsenal if true, a good player, they'll miss him if he goes, hope they get a decent replacement if he does leave.
Corky Posted 29 November 2012 Posted 29 November 2012 Villa would be a good destination for him Why would he want to play Championship football next season?
