Leicesterpool Posted 6 January 2013 Posted 6 January 2013 Erm I remember when i was about 14 I went on a Monday evening football course, it's was basically a after school thing we're we'd get fitness and learn new skills. Anyway at school, I was dreadful, always missed sitters, couldn't hold the ball, would never get picked. Anyway i went on this 10 week course, me and my two mates we're on, anyway to cut it short for most of the part of lesson we got into five a side team, first week i was in goal and I wasn't keen on it whatsoever kept a clean sheet and made no end of saves. Then second week i was playing in defence didn't do to bad, then at one of game 0-0 with 5 seconds to go, I was standing right by the goal in the middle, a lad on my team crosses the ball to me from the wing and I just stick my leg out slightly and it goes in from knee. I remember celebrating like my mad after that, because I didn't score many. Then the following the best goal I've ever scored was when I was selected to take a free kick, i was quite away out. In my mind i was thinking it was either going to it the wall or something. So I ran up to take it and will you believe it goes over the wall and over the goal keeper and into the back of the net. In front of the lads who would never picked me at school. I just felt like crying after that i felt so happy. I remember when the course finished the coach said i should try out for Nuneaton Boro youth, so he arranged for me to go on a training session. So I went on it, as you can imagine i was really nervous. Anyway i didn't too badly i would say at the end of session they just said see you next week. Then a week later a phone call came which basically said that they didn't want me to come anymore because they didn't think my fitness level would be able to cope. What got me was, I was only 14 just went to one training session, was very nervous and shy. My fitness wasn't great i was quite stocky back then but I'm sure after some time with them I could have been up to scratch. Four years later I've lost alot weight more or less thin, can control ball better but sadly still never played in a team Anyone else got any similar stories like this?
anotherharboroughfox Posted 6 January 2013 Posted 6 January 2013 We were bottom of the league and an utter shite team, playing against a team fighting for promotion. The ball was lumped upfield to the 18 yard line and I cushioned it with my head (back to the goal) spun and bicycle kicked it into the top corner. We won the game 2-0, and ruined their chances of promotion. Priceless
Danno Posted 6 January 2013 Posted 6 January 2013 I scored from the half way line for my school team when I was 9. Just call me Beckham
Lamby Posted 6 January 2013 Posted 6 January 2013 Scored from my half/the half way line 3 times Aint played a proper game in years now
ScouseFox Posted 6 January 2013 Posted 6 January 2013 I scored direct from two corners in the same game. On purpose. And a Bergkamp vs Newcastle esque flick one way round a defender, went the other, met it and finished into the top bin. Was too good.
Zingari Posted 6 January 2013 Posted 6 January 2013 i scored a goal from inside the dressing room and another on the bus on my way home after being sent off for being too good .
LCFC FOX Posted 6 January 2013 Posted 6 January 2013 Scored a 19 yard free kick for Notts County academy. Was over the moon when it went in
Mickey O'Neil Posted 6 January 2013 Posted 6 January 2013 I was always a RB and was playing for Evington Eagles around 1987 (?) Manager sent me on as a striker (WTF!!!?..I've never played up front) Anyway, it was a corner and the ball came across to me. Smashed it in from the corner of the box. Shame it was in the wrong goal.
Lamby Posted 6 January 2013 Posted 6 January 2013 One time I was in goal and one of the people I was playing against did the most audacious long shot ever from about 60 yards, was always rising in my eyes so I left it, and it just managed to sneak in between the post and bar, to this day I still don't know how it managed to do that.
LcFc_Smiv Posted 6 January 2013 Posted 6 January 2013 I've never scored for my Sunday league team, I play right back and left back was 15 when I joined, I'm now 21 and been at uni so have only played 6 or 7 times in the past few years, hit the post, bar, goal line clearance everything. Last summer in a friendly, the other team turned up with 10 players, as I wasn't going to play any real part in the season I volunteered to play for them, they put me behind the striker. Half way through the first half, the ball came to me just inside the area i took an awful touch that flew up over me and the defender who was marking me, I turned hit it on the volley and it went in to the corner, pure luck. I get shit for it off my team mates now, I never meant it nor could I do it again but I've been told it looked good! At uni we also have a course team, there's one goal that 3 of us go on about, my mate smashed a pass to me, I flicked it up off my heel, was met with a left foot volley into the back of the net from our striker. What really happened, I was running down the channel, our midfielder hit a shot that was going dreadfully wide, hit my legs as I was running, looped up and fell to the striker who hit one of those volleys that rolls off of your shin and somehow makes it in. Brilliant team effort!
Libertine Dream Posted 6 January 2013 Posted 6 January 2013 I was playing left back one game, (usually play in goal but finger was broke) and I got the ball just inside my own half. I ran down the line until about 25 yards out then being right footed started to cut, ended up dribbling it all the way to the right side of the d, tried to play pass to our striker, pretty shit pass which the bobbled as the defender tried to clear, ended up coming back to me and volleyed it ( ball swerved like Rooneys against Newcastle) and hit the inside of the post before going in. The keeper said afterwards he got a touch on it but that was bullshit. Playing in goal, I've only ever scored 3 goals and all have them have been pretty special if Im honest
Bert Posted 6 January 2013 Posted 6 January 2013 Made my debut off the bench for the Saturday team I played for, a good 6/7 years back now. We were 2-0 down. Long punt from the keeper, controlled it with my right foot hit a looping volley with my left from 25 yards to lob the keeper. Wish someone had recorded it. Went on to score the equaliser too. Was a great day.
Zingari Posted 6 January 2013 Posted 6 January 2013 Does Subbuteo count? i'd imagined you to be a great exponent of blow football
Tom17LCFC Posted 6 January 2013 Posted 6 January 2013 My best was probably being played through on goal, running onto the ball with an oncoming keeper and just dinking it over his head into the back of the net, perfect amount of power on it. Need to get back playing really, been 4/5 years now, would love to start again.
jonthefox Posted 6 January 2013 Posted 6 January 2013 I scored with a pert tittied blonde in spain once.I banged her in a beach hut.
pSinatra Posted 6 January 2013 Posted 6 January 2013 I was that poor twat that was totally shit but turned up for practice week in week out. I didn't deserve to be playing, but out of sheer pity the coach would bring me on as sub for the last 5 minutes. At primary school, we were playing our local rivals The Meadows. We were losing 3-2 & I came on with 5 minutes to go. We got a corner & I scored with my knee......like an exocet missile. My greatest footballing moment. With only seconds to go, The Meadows went up the other end & scored a goal. I was devastated, but the referee disallowed it for offside. I jumped in the air & cheered with delight......having no understanding of sportsmanship. On the way back to the changing rooms, the coach told me how embarrassed he was & told me I would never play again. Up yours twat......."I'm retired"
AKCJ Posted 6 January 2013 Posted 6 January 2013 I scored from the half way line for my school on Thursday and then for my team on Sunday. The keeper hit a goal kick and I just spanked it back both times
NewburyFox Posted 6 January 2013 Posted 6 January 2013 Aged u16s or so, I was once playing a cup game against a team that had only brought 9 players. Long story short, we won 23-0 and I bagged the 18th, a tap-in from like 6 yards. Ah what a moment, was the goal that truly wrapped the game up. Also, I powered a left foot half-volley (I'm right footed) into the top corner from the edge of the box after a corner had been headed clear. Pure class.
I am Rod Hull Posted 6 January 2013 Posted 6 January 2013 I scored from the half way line for my school on Thursday and then for my team on Sunday. The keeper hit a goal kick and I just spanked it back both times Who was in goal for them? Lamby?
kingfox Posted 6 January 2013 Posted 6 January 2013 At School in P.E got the ball edge of the 18 yard box, and curled one into the top corner over the goalkeepers head, crisp finish. Scored another one, long ball up to me, turned my mate inside out twice, ball sat up perfectly and just inside the box I lobbed the keeper.
Corky Posted 6 January 2013 Posted 6 January 2013 I think he was also in goal against Jonaldinho's team.

Up yours twat......."I'm retired" Not my best but most memorable goal was when I was at Primary school, a header from about 6 yards. No one scored headers in them days because the ball was so fooking hard . I got lifted up in assembly the next day by a teacher when they called out the score
Jordan Posted 6 January 2013 Posted 6 January 2013 I played goalkeeper often, and when I played out in the field, I wasn't the most skillful player, so I didn't score many goals. But I did score a beauty on my school's team as a teenager. From 20 yards out, I ran parallel to the box from the right to a bouncing ball, and fired it in just under the crossbar with a left foot half volley. I also remember being credited with a goal in my first season on the team after a teammate took a shot that glanced off my back and went in. He was furious because he was on a hat trick and he spent the remaining five minutes of the game yelling at me about it while I carried on, laughing the whole way.
rico Posted 6 January 2013 Posted 6 January 2013 Played a couple of friendlies in Krefeld,Germany, when i was a teen and scored a cracking volley from the edge of the box in one of them, remember going home feeling like i'd scored for my country
