Lamby Posted 6 January 2013 Posted 6 January 2013 Who was in goal for them? Lamby? I'm no good at collecting shots/crosses as I'm only 5'6 so most things go over my head. Played a couple of friendlies in Krefeld,Germany, when i was a teen and scored a cracking volley from the edge of the box in one of them, remember going home feeling like i'd scored for my country I had that happen in Austria, then the Austrians ran off with the ball never to be seen again
Carl the Llama Posted 6 January 2013 Posted 6 January 2013 Goalkeeper by trade, although I did once spend the last few games of the season on a keeper/striker rotation thanks to my knack of getting a load of tap ins. Had a better goal/game ratio than the rest of the team, scoring one each match. Way back as a youth club kid I once took part in an inter youth club 5-a side tournament and had to play on pitch cause I was the only one in the club who actually went to a football club so was easily the best in the team. When we came up against the best team I dribbled the whole fecking lot of em before coolly slotting in from the edge of the D. But my favourite goal: In the school 5-a side tournament we were playing the cockiest kids from the Spanish section (European school - lots of different language sections) and, following a load of the usual abuse I took out the vilest of them by charging his legs (anyone was allowed in the D and we were playing on concrete). Their whole team got all aggro on me but the ref thought I got the ball (I didn't, didn't even care about it) and awarded a goal kick. After they swapped a new guy in I only went and scored from the goal kick! Cue more Spanish shouting and abuse, and a passage through to the final 3 for us (It was an odd sort of final - all 3 play each other like a WC group stage. We technically came 2nd on GD but the organiser was friends with the English section team from the year above us so gave it to them and put us 3rd)
Terrier Posted 7 January 2013 Posted 7 January 2013 I've scored a few nearly hit the crossbar too... The second lad is me.
Austin Posted 7 January 2013 Posted 7 January 2013 At school, year 8 against a team 15 minutes down the road .. I was a sub and was brought on with 10 minutes left, we were losing 2-1 .. I scored twice (Half volley and a header) to win the game. Best footballing memory of my childhood by a mile!
Carl the Llama Posted 7 January 2013 Posted 7 January 2013 I've scored a few nearly hit the crossbar too... The second lad is me. Good effort Following that video I clicked around various SoccerAM CC's and I swear in the Chelsea one at 1:45 Kalou introduces himself as n*****:
Amin Posted 7 January 2013 Posted 7 January 2013 I was always put in defense at school, so I cherished every goal I scored. The best one was when a team-mate on the right wing hoofed the ball into the box, I cushioned it with my chest (which sent the ball behind me), twisted my body and smacked the ball with my left foot which sent it straight into the top corner.
ousefox Posted 7 January 2013 Posted 7 January 2013 My best one was probably in a training match. On astroturf, ball came from back to me and it was basically a replica of Gally's second vs Palace but about 5 yards closer. Celebrated like i was in the world cup final. Scored a few long rangers in proper games, but i remember in a tournament when i was about 7 running through all the players then hitting it into the top corner from 10 yards out, Leeds scout asked about me after seeing that!
Fox You Forest Posted 7 January 2013 Posted 7 January 2013 Scored from my half/the half way line 3 times Aint played a proper game in years now I remember when i used to play five a side, good times.
Guest MattP Posted 7 January 2013 Posted 7 January 2013 Too many to count from the younger days. Two that stand out are a shot from inside the centre centre that came in after hitting the crossbar and the line whilst 3-3 at Highfields and one away to Countesthorpe where I flicked the ball over the defenders head and volleyed it in from the corner of the box, I scored 4 that day in the first 15 minutes and can't remember any of the other three now.
harryboi72 Posted 7 January 2013 Posted 7 January 2013 ive scored many, many screamers of all different sorts when playing at school both primary and secondary school, but only ever scored twice for the club i played a couple of seasons for(before the club closed because of a lack of players in the squad) but anyway,i played right back most of the time(also playing centre back, centre midifeld and even a sub appearance at right wing) and they were both crackers, the first was in the sub appearance at right wing and my teammate spun and layed it off to me edge of the box to the right off the goal,i hit it first time and absolutely ripped the back of the net, the second goal was when i was playing right back, the ball got layed back to me a long way out(maybe 40 yards, not sure it was all a blur) i took a touch, hammered it up the pitch to the strikers, overhit it by a mile and it beat the keeper and went in
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 7 January 2013 Posted 7 January 2013 I scored a half volley in a car park kickabout before the 1999 League Cup final. That's about it, I've never played a competitive game outside of P.E.
foxfanazer Posted 7 January 2013 Posted 7 January 2013 Who was in goal for them? Lamby? I can just imagine lamby leaving it and it flying in the top corner and his defenders turning around and saying "for **** sake lamby!"
Adster Posted 7 January 2013 Posted 7 January 2013 Making my debut in football with the Westfield Spartans U16's. First game was against fierce rivals Westfield Wanderers, from 30 yards I decided to toe punt the the ball with so much power it flew into the top right hand corner. I went mad and we won the game 1-0.
Father Ted Posted 7 January 2013 Posted 7 January 2013 Scored direct from a corner before, havent scored many since my 7 a side days though, mainly playing centre back/right back/keeper!
Bayfox Posted 7 January 2013 Posted 7 January 2013 Scored a gazza against scotland style goal in a 6 a side game once, playing in melton, don't have the over head height rule. My mate plays the ball upto me and I see the defender coming towards me so on the half turn i lift it over his head and run round him, as the ball drops I catch it perfectly and it beats the keeper across the face of goal and finds the bottom corner. I have also scored from the edge of my own area down goals, which doesn't seem all that great, but my keeper drops the ball to me a foot outside the area in the centre of the pitch, no one closes me down and I can just the the bottom corner of the other goal, thinking fcuk it lets have a pop, I strike it right footed like an arrow it beats everyone, no nicks, deflections and finds the bottom corner to the keepers right. He barely moved as he had so many bodies in his way. Still not sure to this day how it missed the 7 other outfield players on the pitch.
GLC Posted 7 January 2013 Posted 7 January 2013 came on as a sub at half time on my debut, for an u11's team, scored 4!! One of the goals i took round 2 players and back heeled it past the keeper
foxfanazer Posted 7 January 2013 Posted 7 January 2013 Scored some worldies at 5 a side but only scored a couple of great goals 11 a side. One of those was when there keeper punched it out and a volleyed it first time from about 30 yards straight over him. The other was just a little dink over the keeper with my left foot and trust me if u saw me play you'd know I'm no good with mynleft Scored some worldies at 5 a side but only scored a couple of great goals 11 a side. glenny_fox Posted 7 January 2013 Posted 7 January 2013 Drawing 1-1 in the last couple of minutes, don't know how old I was but we were in the 7 a side goals. A team mate had a shot that hit the crossbar, I was waiting for the rebound but it went over my head, as it was doing so I turned round and done a perfect overhead kick that flew over the keeper, off the cross bar and straight in.
The People's Hero Posted 7 January 2013 Posted 7 January 2013 I scored two absolute belters in one game when I was about 15. The first was a first time hit from about 5 yards inside my own half (not full sized pitches I think). The keeper was off his line and I basically lobbed him. It was a bouncing ball and the pleasing thing was how well I hit it on the half volley. The second was one of those goals you see players score with their heads sometimes and it just doesn't look natural, headers from outside the box. This one was a drilled free kick from the left wing, I arrived on the edge of the 18 yard box and headed it in to the top corner on the opposite side of the goal. Cup game. I was a hero. Blue Eagles 1-2 Senacre Dolphins. I won't tell you about the sitter I had missed earlier in the game at 1-0 down. It was also made all the sweeter as we were absolute turd at the time. I was playing as a centre mid and think I probably only scored 3 or 4 goals in total that season. The goal against us was also pretty special. Made a change from the usual ping-pong in the box of goalkeeping errors at that standard. Oooh what about my brace in the first ever O21's vs U21's? That was pretty special. A glorious header from Tomassi's ball and a beautiful bent finish from the edge of the 18 yard box (wrongly adjudged offside)
whoareyaaa Posted 7 January 2013 Posted 7 January 2013 Overhead kick from on the edge of the box into the top corner. what a goal it was. Another was a flying header from near the edge of the box from a bullet cross. Scored plenty of great goals over the years though
rico Posted 7 January 2013 Posted 7 January 2013 I've scored a few nearly hit the crossbar too... The second lad is me. are you a comedy act?
Babylon Posted 7 January 2013 Posted 7 January 2013 Carbon copy of Tony Yeboah v Liverpool it was on the school field during lunch break 17 years ago.... shame only about 4 people saw it .
Captain... Posted 7 January 2013 Posted 7 January 2013 Best goal I ever scored was on a wet day, only about 10 yards out, the ball was coming in from deep dropping behind me, whilst side on to the goal, so turned my back to the goal and back heeled it in, caught it so sweet, flew past the keeper who didn't move, oh and it was a mother fvcking tennis ball, playing on concrete, almost knocked myself out scoring a an overhead kick once too, that wasn't on concrete.
Kitchandro Posted 7 January 2013 Posted 7 January 2013 When I was at primary school our year always used to play the year above at break and lunch. Of course we'd mainly get thrashed but one of the few times we won I scored from a goal kick. The opposing goalkeeper MAY have been partially at fault....that was the equaliser and we ended up winning 2-1. One you couldn't blame the goalkeeper for was at a 6-aside league in Evington a few years ago. Me and my mates were all 16/17 and everyone else was mid-late 20s, not many of us were any good and again, most weeks we'd get get thrashed or, Leicester City in 03/04 style, would throw it away in the final minutes. The best team there was these massive black lads, all of them were quality players. For once though we didn't get caned. It was 1-1 and I picked it up on the right in my own half and with my back to the opposition's goal. Instead of playing it safe I cruyff-turned the guy at my back and ran with it. I got about 3 yards before I realised I was never going to outpace him. Not much was on so from the right sideline I just went for it - smashed it in the top right hand corner, went in like a rocket. Of course, despite some spirited backs-to-the-wall defending, we conceded in stoppage time and it finished 2-2. But my goal is still talked about today (by me) at the pub. My favourite ever moment playing footy though was a while later, we were still shite, but played a newer team. They were still decent and we defended absolutely appallingly as usual. For some reason my family had come to watch, so we had a little crowd. It was 1-1 until 3 minutes to go when a ding-dong finish ensued. I scored from a flicked on corner to make it 3-2 but typically they went right up the other end and beat our goalie at the near post (again). In the very last attack I picked it up on the left, came inside and drilled it low in the corner. Celebrations were unreal, crowd went mental, whole team went mental. And finally I scored one like Henry's v Man U in my back garden.
James. Posted 7 January 2013 Posted 7 January 2013 I scored from the half way line aged 9 playing for Birstall United under 10's back in 1992. The ball came rolling towards me pretty much bang on the half way line, my mind focussed completely on what had been drilled into us in training ("if in doubt, whack it out") so I gave it an absolutely almighty wallop with my trusty right peg... the ball sailed high over the opposition half, bounced in front of the goalkeeper, over his head and into the goal. Didn't know what to do with myself so I ran around and welled up a bit. It was wonderful.
