LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 Now I don't know how long Paul Konchesky is out for but if he is out for another few games why not give the lad a go? I wouldn't like to see Schlupp at left back personally because he's a striker, put him on the wing if anything but why play him there when we have youth players such as Taft to play there? We gave Schlupp a chance, need to give more youth players chances. If not, bring someone in a loan.
theessexfox Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 We didn't give Schlupp much of a chance did we? He looked great in glimpses when he was first played at left-back.
sdb Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 Schlupp was alright yesterday. Looked like one of the few who might make something happen. Couple of mistakes too but can surely forgive that given his age and recent situation.
Jace Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 Think it would be chucking him in the deep end a bit with a lot of pressure sticking him straight in at left back, think he would benefit more from being involved on the bench 1st. Would like to see him feature sometime soon the guy seems a good bloke has a lot of passion for the club being a Leicester lad
cc_star Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 Schlupp Needs Dyer in front of him though as Dyer does well tackling back and that flank would be a great attacking threat who would keep opposing wingers on the back foot too. With regards to giving youth a chance, I'm all for it generally but the situation we're in we don't have room to
weller7 Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 Watched Taft play for the u21 development yesterday they lost 3-0 to a strong Huddersfield outfit , he started at centre half then went to full back & ended up left wing , absolutely head & shoulders above any other player on the pitch , stood out by a mile .
scousefox4 Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 Love watching the development games , missed yesterday's because I went to see the 1st team but went to the Ricoh arena Monday to see them play Cov City , we won the game 3-1 Taft played at the back with St Ledger & was outstanding , needs a chance soon or I feel he will be off to pastures new at Leicester's expense .

Are you for real? We lost 3 nil to a very average team and let in 3 goals but you thought one of our defenders was the best player on the field by a country mile He was as good/bad as the rest of the team on the day half a chance at centre half but no chance at left back
TheUltimateWinner Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 Watched Taft play for the u21 development yesterday they lost 3-0 to a strong Huddersfield outfit , he started at centre half then went to full back & ended up left wing , absolutely head & shoulders above any other player on the pitch , stood out by a mile . Strange we won 2-1 away from home...
Leicester_Loyal Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 Schlupp is a decent LB, I struggle to see how Taft would be any better.
Leicesterpool Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 To be honest Schlupp isn't a left back to me, he's an attacker and a good one I think we should play him on the wing. Bringing George Taft doesn't sound a bad idea, although it's shame we let go of Tom Kennedy because he never put a foot wrong for me, when he did play.
weller7 Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 Your a clown , have you ever played the game ??? Everyone is entitled to a opinion but Leicester conceded 3 goals & none of Taft's doing , only a fool who watched the game would disagree .

Everyone is entitled to a opinion but Leicester conceded 3 goals & none of Taft's doing , only a fool who watched the game would disagree . Lets see who is right - Pearson / Beages or you but as your related to him your view is obviously somewhat blinkered With all the current injuries to defenders if you are right then surely he will at least be in the squad for Cardiff?
Fox92 Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 Schlupp was decent yesterday, he is steady cover anyway. I've never seen Taft play, and I know he can play full back, but he comes across to me as a centre half more than a full back. I mean, Tunchev could play full back but I'm glad it never happened.
Langston Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 Daft idea. Not saying the lad isn't promising but throwing him in now when he's not ready will not solve our form problems.
weller7 Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 Related to who you clown ??? I'm a fan with a opinion , obviously Pearson doesn't fancy the lad , that's football tho & my humble opinion I think this boy will go all the way , he must be about 6ft 6" tall with a lovely left foot & also deceiving quick for a big fella , watch this space
scousefox4 Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 I think he will get his chance when Pearson is sacked & that won't be long now .
iancognito Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 I've got no problem having Schlupp at left-back for now, it keeps him involved even if the Man Utd move doesn't come off for him but I seem to remember a few on here not being too pleased with his performances there earlier in the season

We gave Schlupp a chance, need to give more youth players chances. If not, bring someone in a loan. Bloody hell, we give him one game after months on the sidelines and in a shit formation with no left-side support and no real wingers and our fans want to tear him to pieces. And yesterday pretty much sums up Schlupp's experience at Leicester. He's been played all over the place and in bits and pieces or not at all and even then he was by no means our worst player, not by a distance. He made two crucial interceptions and did some good work as well as getting skinned two or three times. But after all that he wasn't anything like as bad as Kane, Drinkwater, Wood, Marshall or Knockaert. Put their efforts together and it would hardly merit a decent mark.
Thracian Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 Schlupp is a decent LB, I struggle to see how Taft would be any better. Unless he's come on no end he wouldn't be - and he certainly wouldn't offer a lot as an attacker other than perhaps at set pieces. Play Schlupp regularly, correctly and with support and he'd do fine.
Harry - LCFC Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 You've got to wonder why Taft doesn't even get on the bench though. If Pearson doesn't think he's ready to be a sub there I really can't see him suddenly deciding to give him a starting place. He'll stick with Schlupp if Koncheskey's still injured.

Harry - LCFC Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 Because he's not good enough at the minute. Yes, that's my point.
