Steven Posted 25 May 2013 Posted 25 May 2013 What point are you trying to make? Are you telling me that slavery is moral, and worshipping a God is not? The Bible is God's Book on morality. Therefore slavery must be moral.
theessexfox Posted 25 May 2013 Posted 25 May 2013 The Bible is God's Book on morality. Therefore slavery must be moral. I wasn't talking from a Christian perspective, thank you very much.
Webbo Posted 25 May 2013 Posted 25 May 2013 The Bible is God's Book on morality. Therefore slavery must be moral. Is there a single christian church that is advocating slavery?
MooseBreath Posted 25 May 2013 Posted 25 May 2013 Was thinking on this the other day and your comments of immigration, which I do get, has the qualifer you mention of the "quality" of immigrants and something quite pointed occured to me. In general, people of the whole world tend to love their birthplace unless they are affected by violence and poverty there; therefore the vast majority of immigrants are down-trodden people of little education or wealth. This is of course a broadly sweeping statement, within any demographic there will be outstanding (both good and bad) individuals. The numbers of successful people who want to leave their homeland to settle elsewhere is tiny by comparison. Whilst there are essentially ghetto-ised estates of immigrants developing, you can just as easily find whole estates of British people who have sponged off the state for their whole lives. At least the immigrants don't have settees in their overgrown garden swigging special brew as the world passes them by (did I mention the rusty car with the 1998 tax disc in the window?) If we're talking quality, we can just as easily ship plenty of British people out. Plenty of "quality" immigrants around. The middle east, Oz, NZ, Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore are all magnets for well educated professional immigrants. I barely know anyone in my professional circle who hasn't worked abroad at some point including myself, so I don't know where you get this idea that successful people don't want to emigrate. London gets its fair share of quality immigrants and Manchester gets quite a few too. But elsewhere our cities are shitty and only scummy third worlders want to go anywhere near them.
Steven Posted 25 May 2013 Posted 25 May 2013 Is there a single christian church that is advocating slavery? So is there a Christian Church that truly follows the Bible. Oh wait they just pick and choose parts that suit themselves.
Rincewind Posted 25 May 2013 Posted 25 May 2013 The Westboro church is not ver Christian for a Christian church.
john doe Posted 25 May 2013 Posted 25 May 2013 now france. wtf starting to belive all this deserves a response.a very clear one
Matt Posted 25 May 2013 Posted 25 May 2013 A French soldier on patrol in Paris has been stabbed in the throat by a man believed to be of North-African origin. The soldier was injured during the attack but will survive, said a military spokesman. French daily Le Parisien cited police sources as saying the suspected attacker was a bearded man, about 30-years-old and was wearing an Arab-style garment under his jacket. He fled the scene and is being sought by police. The soldier was patrolling the business area of La Defense as part of France's Vigipirate anti-terrorist surveillance plan. The stabbing comes just days after a British soldier was hacked to death on a London street in broad daylight in a suspected terrorist attack that has raised fears of potential copycat strikes. However, there was no immediate confirmation of any link to the France attack.
Danno Posted 25 May 2013 Posted 25 May 2013 Reminds me of this ... That guy is a legend. Our R.S teacher almost got sacked for showing us all his videos haha.

I am Rod Hull Posted 26 May 2013 Posted 26 May 2013 Does agreeing with what he says mean do gooders will call me "racist" Yes, you are nothing more than knuckle dragging skinhead filth and you should be ashamed of yourself.
Captain... Posted 26 May 2013 Posted 26 May 2013 http://www.russellbrand.tv/2013/05/woolwich/ It always amazes me how in person Russell brand comes across as a massive cock, but in print he often comes across as articulate and intelligent.
howlinmadmurfdoc Posted 26 May 2013 Posted 26 May 2013 Yes, you are nothing more than knuckle dragging skinhead filth and you should be ashamed of yourself. Thought so, maybe I should join the edl.
Captain... Posted 26 May 2013 Posted 26 May 2013 Does agreeing with what he says mean do gooders will call me "racist" Tell you what fella, why don't you tell us what you believe and why, just saying you agree with what he says, makes you sound more like a sheep than a racist.

But as for your sheep comment, I think the sheep are more the edl, or the people at the other end of the scale, I'm probably gonna get splinters in my arse from sitting on the fence but I can see both sides of the story, I do agree that we need to stop being so sensitive about Islam, but we can't keep on blaming the whole of Islam for the actions of a couple of Muslims. Islam is no more or less ridiculous than any other organised religion in my eyes, but I do get fed up with every crime committed by a Muslim having their religion brought into it, whereas other religions don't suffer the same fate.
MooseBreath Posted 26 May 2013 Posted 26 May 2013 Probably because their religious beliefs are what is driving the crimes, and that is not the case for other religions. Suicide bombers don't just happen to be Muslim, they are suicide bombers because they are Muslim. The religion is where the evil lies. People aren't angry at Muslims as much as they are angry at Islam. Get rid of the religion, get rid of the problem.
Bettsj2 Posted 26 May 2013 Posted 26 May 2013 The main problem is, the people who get sensitive about Islam are not the peace loving muslims that live easily in our society. For every atrocity commited by a fanatic, local and national leaders if the muslim community give interviews condemning the action but this is only mildly reported. The truth from my experience is, you can say whatever you like to most muslims and they'll laugh it off. Something like the Danish cartoon Of Mohammed will be seen as offensive because it probably was, just as some devout christians (listen to Anne Widdecombes interview with Richard Bacon) found the Life of Brian massively offensive.
z-layrex Posted 26 May 2013 Posted 26 May 2013 That guy is a legend. Our R.S teacher almost got sacked for showing us all his videos haha. He's not a legend he'a miserable old c***.

You do realise those cartoons caused thousands of riots around the world and also a few murders.
Bettsj2 Posted 26 May 2013 Posted 26 May 2013 You do realise those cartoons caused thousands of riots around the world and also a few murders. Thousands of riots? Do you work for The Mail? There were riots but they were as much about the cartoon as our student riots were about tuition fees. When there's hostility, mobs take over. Again when the Danish embassy was being battered, muslim leaders were calling for calm and condemning the action but that was in the background of everyones reporting. There are militant islamists out there using religion to mask their agenda, but thats gone on since time began. This is the latest fad. In 10 years it'll be as distant a memory as the IRA bombings.
Fox92 Posted 26 May 2013 Posted 26 May 2013 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-22673872 A man in his 20s is in hospital after being stabbed in Woolwich. Police said it happened just a "few streets away" from the scene of Wednesday's attack on Drummer Lee Rigby, but it is not being linked to the killing. ... It's not linked, but still, another stabbing.
