Fox92 Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 Typical of Liverpool, to prove why they will never be genuine title contenders. They won't challenge this year, but I can't see why they won't make the top 4. And I hope they do.
MC Prussian Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 Fixed! Sainte ciboire d'hostie tabernak!! It's spelt "touché"!!

MC Prussian Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 Manchester United are allegedly bidding in the region of £35m for Chelsea's Juan Mata. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/25849959 I know he's talented and still quite young, but 35 million? Bwoah. There will be a time in the not-so-distant future where Manchester United will be known as the club that paid massively over the odds.

If they valued Fellani at 27 mill, Man U probably think they are getting a complete bargain.
MC Prussian Posted 23 January 2014 Posted 23 January 2014 And he's more or less gone... Chelsea accept Manchester United's £37m bid for Juan Mata: http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/25849959

Dan Posted 23 January 2014 Posted 23 January 2014 Said on SSN this morning that Chelsea valued him at around £11mil
Uncle Albert Posted 23 January 2014 Posted 23 January 2014 Chelsea seem to be getting our target now as well in Salah, from Basel.
StanSP Posted 23 January 2014 Posted 23 January 2014 Chelsea seem to be getting our target now as well in Salah, from Basel. Must be fun as a Chelsea scout. Get Tottenham or Liverpool to do your job for you and report back to the heirarchy saying this is who they're interested in & let's stick a bid in!

Get Tottenham or Liverpool to do your job for you and report back to the heirarchy saying this is who they're interested in & let's stick a bid in! Haha! True but he has played against them 4 times in two seasons I think so this time they will know about the player first hand, just annoying that again we get our target, stupidly announce it before its near enough done and another club swoops in. Iain Ayre needs to reign it in a bit when it comes to transfer dealings.
Dan Posted 23 January 2014 Posted 23 January 2014 Scored an unreal goal past them in the CL didn't he? Quality finish after a superb move.
Uncle Albert Posted 23 January 2014 Posted 23 January 2014 Yeah he did. He wants Liverpool and his Agent wants Chelsea, wonder why..
Dan Posted 23 January 2014 Posted 23 January 2014 Players employ agents. If he wants Liverpool that badly then sack your agent and make the move you want.
Uncle Albert Posted 23 January 2014 Posted 23 January 2014 Players employ agents. If he wants Liverpool that badly then sack your agent and make the move you want. That's easier said than done, obviously he will be in an agreement with his Agent. And now Basel will know Liverpool and Chelsea are after Salah, they will obviously start demanding a bigger fee, only one winner there, we aren't going above £12million apparently.

Is it not possible to terminate any sort of contract? Agents are parasites yet they're employed by footballers to be parasites for them. The players certainly aren't innocent in all of this. Liverpool would be a far better move. He'll develop into a far better player there.

I think you're trying to suggest I'm implying something else, if anything I agree with you. Salah's agent wants Chelsea, Salah wants Liverpool, why does the agent want Chelsea? Bigger wages for his client and a bigger agents fee for himself, like you say, a parasite. We can only blame ourselves for this mess, Salah was a target before the New Year, transfer window opened 23 days ago and we haven't completed the deal, just like the Willian deal. In all honesty I don't think we need a Salah kind of player anyway, scoring goals and attacking is the only area of our game that doesn't need concentrating on. We need a ball winning midfielder, a M'Vila or De Jong (can't see that happening mind) and another full back.

I don't think Chelsea need Salah any more than Liverpool do. I don't think he'd be a bad addition at all. Who's M'Vila playing for? Am I right in saying he's at Rubin Kazan or someone like that?

Yeah he's at Rubin, was pictured in the away end v Everton and started a lot of rumours but turned out that Sakho had invited him over to watch the game with the fans.
Bobby Hundreds Posted 23 January 2014 Posted 23 January 2014 Wenger now complaining that Chelsea selling Mata to United is unfair. What an absolute clown of a man.
21st Century Fox Posted 23 January 2014 Posted 23 January 2014 Dani Osvaldo suspended for two weeks by Saints for a violent altercation with Jose Fonte. Now the fans are blaming Cortese for buying him in the first place. I'm loving the Saints turmoil.
whitlock Posted 23 January 2014 Posted 23 January 2014 Wenger now complaining that Chelsea selling Mata to United is unfair. What an absolute clown of a man. Mourinho wouldn't loan Ba to Arsenal earlier on in the season because I think Jose said something along the lines of Arsenal being stronger than Chelsea. I know that United aren't title contenders, but Jose is allowing United to strengthen quite a lot with Mata. Hate United, would love it if Mata turned them down.
MC Prussian Posted 23 January 2014 Posted 23 January 2014 Dani Osvaldo has been suspended for two weeks by Southampton, following a bloody Staplewood training ground altercation with José Fonte. The latter has been left with serious facial injuries. It is rumored that Fonte himself initiated the attack by playing it rough during a training session. EDIT: 21st CF beat me to it. But at least I got the additional Fonte bit.
