21st Century Fox Posted 23 January 2014 Posted 23 January 2014 Dani Osvaldo has been suspended for two weeks by Southampton, following a bloody Staplewood training ground altercation with José Fonte. The latter has been left with serious facial injuries. It is rumored that Fonte himself initiated the attack by playing it rough during a training session. EDIT: 21st CF beat me to it. But at least I got the additional Fonte bit.
21st Century Fox Posted 23 January 2014 Posted 23 January 2014 They were clearly playing an intense training ground game of pat-a-cake and it just got out of hand. This stories been blown out of proportion.

Merging Cultures Posted 23 January 2014 Posted 23 January 2014 http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/25849959 Seems very high for a player struggling to make Chelsea's first team regularly.
indierich06 Posted 23 January 2014 Posted 23 January 2014 http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/25849959 Seems very high for a player struggling to make Chelsea's first team regularly. Through absolutely no fault of his own. Scored 16 goals and assisted 20 last season, so he was directly responsible for nearly 40 of Chelsea's goals last season. it's baffling how he's been shut out, bad management from Mourinho in my opinion.
foxfanazer Posted 23 January 2014 Posted 23 January 2014 Not based on ability. Mourinho likes to make an example of one star player for each club he manages imo. Casilas for Madrid and Mata for Chelsea. It is a good fee for a backup player but he should be the first name on the team sheet for chelsea imo.
goose2010 Posted 23 January 2014 Posted 23 January 2014 more on the Osvaldo story.... Southampton have suspended Dani Osvaldo following a fight with team-mate Jose Fonte in training. A fight that reportedly involved A SWORD!!
Leicesterpool Posted 23 January 2014 Posted 23 January 2014 A lot rumours going around that Red Bull are trying to buy Villa!

Imagine if Benitez or any other manager did this. Would be getting hammered by Chelsea fans.

AKCJ Posted 23 January 2014 Posted 23 January 2014 Amazed United have gone for Mata. The position behind RVP is Rooney's, a position he fulfills better than any player in the league IMO. They need central midfielders and defenders. They should have gone for players like Khedira and Garay.
Uncle Albert Posted 23 January 2014 Posted 23 January 2014 Even the media aren't really questioning the sale..
Corky Posted 23 January 2014 Posted 23 January 2014 Wenger now complaining that Chelsea selling Mata to United is unfair. What an absolute clown of a man. Based on what? Are you not allowed to sell players to rival clubs now?
indierich06 Posted 23 January 2014 Posted 23 January 2014 Based on what? Are you not allowed to sell players to rival clubs now? He says Chelsea have already played United twice, so they won't 'have to face' Mata again, while Arsenal will. I like Wenger, but some of the stuff he moans about is ridiculous. Amazed United have gone for Mata. The position behind RVP is Rooney's, a position he fulfills better than any player in the league IMO. Mata performed a lot, lot better in that role last Season for Chelsea IMO.
indierich06 Posted 23 January 2014 Posted 23 January 2014 Imagine if Benitez or any other manager did this. Would be getting hammered by Chelsea fans. I know, Mourinho seems to get away with some bizarre stuff, simply because he's Jose 'the special one' Mourinho. Like you say, if Benitez did that, they'd be baying for blood.
Uncle Albert Posted 23 January 2014 Posted 23 January 2014 I'd love Mourinho to go the Season without a trophy, really think he thought he would walk straight back into the Premier League and win the League.
Uncle Albert Posted 23 January 2014 Posted 23 January 2014 Chelsea have confirmed they've agreed a fee for Salah. Brilliant, they sign Willian and Salah when we wanted them and all we have got is Moses from it.. We really need to look at how we handle transfers, clearly we weren't going to up our valuation of Salah above £12million, yet we valued Aspas at £7million who struggled at Celta Vigo? December 9th we made Salah a target, Chelsea made him a target probably last weekend and he is signed by the Thursday. It's not even the point that Salah is the kind of player we need to be buying at the minute, attack wise we don't really need to strengthen, we desperately need a DM/CM to boss a game and a full back, especially now Johnson is out for a long spell and Enrique isn't back to training for a few weeks.
Fox92 Posted 23 January 2014 Posted 23 January 2014 I thought they weren't going to buy another player? Something to do with the finances? Not bad if you're a club like Chelsea is it. The ability to pay what you want to sign a player that your rivals initially wanted.

I like Wenger, but some of the stuff he moans about is ridiculous. Mata performed a lot, lot better in that role last Season for Chelsea IMO. This is really odd. You cannot stop clubs selling players to other clubs. Loans you can possibly tinker with, but sales should be left alone.
MC Prussian Posted 23 January 2014 Posted 23 January 2014 Glad for Salah, but he could've gone to a different club other than Chelsea. Obviously, the two recent Champions League encounters with Basel must've impressed Mourinho a lot, Salah was outstanding in both the away and the home tie. He's got speed, vision and a knack for scoring. At £12m a bargain for Chelsea and a financial treat for Basel. I hope they invest the money wisely.
