ScouseFox Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 Is that what he said? I can never understand him Yeah haha. Deadly serious I think, too. When you move to Liverpool you become terrific at understanding accents without even thinking about it
Dan Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 Agree with all of this. Of the current squad only RVP, Rooney and Carrick would have got anywhere near Ferguson's two CL winning sides. Agree. I like De Gea and I don't think there's a long-term problem with him. Their defence is woeful. If they're going with four at the back, then maybe it's worth ripping it nearly all up, keeping say... Jones (as I do think he'll come good one day) and buying two new full-backs and a centre half. Their pulling power has taken a serious hit because I was thinking someone like Baines - yet if he got the choice, would he actually go? Especially if Everton end up in Europe which is still very possible. Carrick should stay, as should Januzaj who is about their only new relevation of the season. He's class and will go on to be something special. Another winger's definitely needed - Young and Nani aren't good enough and even Valencia's losing it IMO. Zaha is a possibility but I can't see him being much better if at all. Worth a test though. A world class midfielder to play with Carrick should've been signed - but instead they paid a world class fee and ended up with ****ing Fellaini. Could've done worse than going for a Pjanic type of player. I think their attack is the only thing that doesn't need touching. Four strikers of Van Persie, Rooney, Hernandez and Welbeck is good enough.
Jimothy Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 Yeah haha. Deadly serious I think, too. When you move to Liverpool you become terrific at understanding accents without even thinking about it I heard a woman speaking to her kid in Liverpool once, and I swore she was foreign. It wasn't until she spoke again I started to recognise some English words. It's not so much Adebayor's accent, he just speaks really quick whilst barely opening his mouth.
shen Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 They're missing 3 of their best players. Michu, De Guzman and Dyer. The latter should have already been considered for England IMO, hugely underrated player. So it's no surprise they're not doing quite as well. Exactly. Not to mention Vorm! Gerhard Tremmel really isn't Premier League quality. Taylor is still getting back from injury it seems and several of their summer signings haven't exactly been a hit. It's no wonder they are struggling, but having said that, the few times I've seen them this season, they definitely haven't had the rub of the green either.

Benji Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 Is this Pepe Mel having a laugh? One minute he's fluent the next he can't speak a word!
Fox92 Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 Is this Pepe Mel having a laugh? One minute he's fluent the next he can't speak a word! Yeah, and I'm sure Eto can speak a bit of English yet didn't post match yesterday?
Uncle Albert Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 Typical of Liverpool to go away and win at Stoke (tough place for us and would usually lose or get a point at best) to then play Villa at home and slip up. The Derby on Tuesday just became even bigger.
Hugo Sanchez Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 Typical of Liverpool, to prove why they will never be genuine title contenders.
Bobby Hundreds Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 Typical of Liverpool, to prove why they will never be genuine title contenders. Arsenal lost at home to Villa.
ScouseFox Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 Arsenal lost at home to Villa. And are top of the league.
Bobby Hundreds Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 And are top of the league. And won't win the league.
Uncle Albert Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 You can't take anything away from Arsenal so far this season but let's see where they are after March. That's when you can say who the title challengers are, I personally don't think Arsenal will be within reach then after the run of games they have got, wouldn't mind being proved wrong, would rather see Arsenal challenging City than Chelsea.
ScouseFox Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 And won't win the league. Who said they would? Hugo Sanchez scoffed at Liverpool's ability to be "genuine title challengers" (harshly, too, they probably won't challenge but who expected them to? Top 4 would be brilliant for them), and you seemed to respond by saying well Arsenal lost at home to Aston Villa so they obviously aren't either!!! But they're top of the league coming to the end of January. Sure they might not win it but they are genuine challengers, which you seemed to be trying to say they weren't.
Bobby Hundreds Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 I still don't believe they are genuine title contenders. I'll reassess after February's expected implosion.
MC Prussian Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 Ah, the joys of a Liverpool and an Arsenal supporter taking the mick out of each other on a Leicester City message board.
Uncle Albert Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 Where have we taken the mick out of each other? Oh wait I had better not reply to you or argue with you, another ban will be on its way.
MC Prussian Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 Where have we taken the mick out of each other? Oh wait I had better not reply to you or argue with you, another ban will be on its way. Touchy much?
21st Century Fox Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 Pretty interesting article about who should replace Gerrard at Liverpool... http://www.theguardian.com/football/stats-bomb/2014/jan/22/liverpool-steven-gerrard-buy-transfer-market

As much as I agree with you, I don't think anyone this season will have a tougher run of fixtures... Liverpool (A) Utd (H) Bayern (H) Sunderland (H) Stoke (A) Swansea (H) Bayern (A) Tottenham (A) Chelsea (A) Man City (H) Everton (A) Obviously the 3 in the middle are the most winnable, but they definitely won't be easy. It will surely test them to the full.

StanSP Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 Yeah that's what I was getting at when I said after March, do them fixtures take them up to April? Incredibly tough. Only Everton in April.
