Dan Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 If they get knocked out the CL I think there's a chance. Also i'm getting abit bored of people saying 'It's an old team', yes they are but they still shouldn't be doing this bad, they won the league last season, quite well, you could argue there wasn't that much of a challenge but you don't go from winning a league to just above mid-table, besides its the signing Moyes has made/who he's being linked with that I can't work out. He did a great job at Everton, can't take that away from him, but I can't help thinking that's his level, not sure he can handle it at the very top, with a big club. But it is an old team full of players who didn't have to play at their best to win what was in my opinion, the weakest ever Premier League last season. They need literally a good 6/7 players brought in and to get rid of a load of the crap if they want to ever be up there with the best again. I dread to think what'll happen to them if they beat Olympiakos and run into a Bayern/Barcelona. They'll get absolutely slapped silly.
Fox92 Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 Always going to be tough taking over from a manager as big as Fergie, but Moyes has inherited a poor squad.
MC Prussian Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 Any streams for this? Sportlemon has aplenty.
Vacamion Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 The United line up is possibly the worst I've witnessed in a league game in my lifetime. On paper they simply look outclassed in every area of the pitch by the Chelsea XI and I only think De Gea could possibly make a case for getting into a mixed XI between the two. Although saying that the game isn't played on paper, still expect Chelsea to win comfortably mind you. De Gea not exactly covering himself in glory today... Before the game I was not that bothered who won. Now Chelsea have 3 I'd like to see them get 7 or 8.
Guest ttfn Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 United need at least 5 world class players - a minimum £100 million investment. Are the Glazers going to stump that up? Are they bollocks.
Guest ttfn Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 Vidic is a feckin idiot. United should let him go on a free when his contract expires.
Unabomber Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 I think it was the fact that he had no intention of getting the ball, he just went to hack at Hazard.
Kitchandro Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 You can't really blame that on their recent form though (ignoring the cup win at OT) They've become genuine relegation candidates. Something's really missing from them this season. They're missing 3 of their best players. Michu, De Guzman and Dyer. The latter should have already been considered for England IMO, hugely underrated player. So it's no surprise they're not doing quite as well. Interesting to see some people jumping on the bandwagon though, saying they aren't as good as people make them out to be etc. They've had 2 very solid seasons where they've been a credit to the Premier League. Compared to sides like Stoke they play a different game. They won't go down, but they are Swansea and can't be expected to finish in the top half (which they're only 3 points off). This is the Premiership, they are a good side and at their best would beat us soundly I'd suspect.
ScouseFox Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 Rafael lucky not to go as well. Moyes doesn't need players playing badly and then going nuts when they've clearly lost already.
Kitchandro Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 What an idiot Rafael is there. His teammate is already getting a ban, and in the very last minute he makes a needless 2 footed tackle he should be sent off for. Lucky bastard.
Corky Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 Should Everton win tomorrow they will be 7 points ahead of Man United. Man United have lost their three big away tests so far at Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea.
Leicesterpool Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 This moyes and Man U stuff reminds me too much of the Clough and Leeds situation. The players just don't want to play for him and Moyes just doesn't have either control or a clue.

Leicesterpool Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 Doesn't help that when Rooney and Van Persie are out they have no world class players. Well Rooney going to be leaving anyway but Van Persie was a huge loss, however it's up to Moyes to go up to the board and request funds for a replacement. Also on Hull, can't they come to compromise on the name like instead of Hull Tigers what about Hull City Tigers?
Dan Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 Rafael and Vidic are both liabilities and neither of them are good enough for the level Man Utd want to be at. They have two players who are debatable world class. That's appalling for them. Time to shuffle and spend some money. Januzaj looks about their best player and that tells you all you need to know.

The whole point with Hull is that they don't want to change their name, they won't compromise.

Agree with all of this. Of the current squad only RVP, Rooney and Carrick would have got anywhere near Ferguson's two CL winning sides.
ScouseFox Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 Adebayor . "Dembele should've passed to me, but we had a chat and we won so it's all ok. If we didn't win I don't know what would've happened, probably a fight".
