Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Although its exciting I wanted Chelsea to win the league. Wouldnt rule out another twist yet. Norwich 8/1 tomorrow.....
Brown Fox Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 How good are Eriksens set pieces?! Not sure anybody could defend them never mind us haha!
Manwell Pablo Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Two great calls or further evidence Webb is totally losing it? I haven't got a clue I'll be honest.

Fox in the North Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 How can Hansen call them both stonewall peons? Yes they collide but both go down way too easily.
Kitchandro Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 The amount of shite Shearer and Hansen are talking tonight is unbelievable. The Sunderland penalty was clearly debatable, not 'stonewall', the Cardiff penalty was a blatant dive (they only showed the highlights and yet I saw THREE separate dives by Campbell in that match, what a shit he always comes across as) and then they make out Larsson knocking Ramirez out of the way when he had an open goal to head into was 'great defending'. WTF.
Bert Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 I'm sure he's passionate about the job but he comes across as a very volatile individual and hard to like, certainly the sort of guy you probably wouldn't want in charge of your team. Although he's managed to get Kane to score in each of the last three games so he can't be too bad Agree. Trying so hard to be a hard line tough guy kind of manager and he's just coming across as a complete and utter tosser.

WTF. Dunno, about that. Stonewall is probably going a bit too far but that's a penalty, I know Jose is going nowhere (shock) but Azpillicuta catches his trailing leg and doesn't touch the ball, stupid challenge.
Kitchandro Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Dunno, about that. Stonewall is probably going a bit too far but that's a penalty, I know Jose is going nowhere (shock) but Azpillicuta catches his trailing leg and doesn't touch the ball, stupid challenge. For me though, he doesn't catch his leg. Altidore just stands on his leg, after he's already finished the challenge. I can see why it was given, but I don't think it's as clear as somebody sliding in and taking him out.
Kitchandro Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 The Shit continues. 'Experience is everything'. No it's not everything, Alan. Ability, fitness, form, they count for something as well. How can you take someone to the world cup if they're well out of form and have barely played? Thank god Hansen is retiring after the world cup.
Manwell Pablo Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 For me though, he doesn't catch his leg. Altidore just stands on his leg, after he's already finished the challenge. I can see why it was given, but I don't think it's as clear as somebody sliding in and taking him out. He's still moving when he catches him so I wouldn't say it's finished, and I see what you mean about Altidore standing on his leg but the way Azpillicuta slides in he's really got nowhere to put his standing leg and he is undoubtedly impeded and there is no touch of the ball, I agree though to call that stonewall is just abuse of the term . Clumsy challenge though, penalty for me.
Stadt Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Shaw deserves to go, how is he gonna get any tournament experience if he doesn't go. Cole shouldn't go but probably will. Shearer getting it spot on about the 'West Ham Way'.
Dan Posted 20 April 2014 Posted 20 April 2014 Need to watch this MOTD Liverpool need shooting if they don't win the league now. It's there for the taking. Sunderland have done them two favours beyond their wildest dreams. The relegation battle in the Premier League now... absolutely mental. Sunderland can actually do this. They've got Swansea, Cardiff & West Brom all to go there.
Aus Fox Posted 20 April 2014 Posted 20 April 2014 Assuming it's a Premier League club, I wonder who this is? http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/apr/19/police-called-drug-scandal-major-club?CMP=twt_gu If say not premier league or they would have said premier league, it sounds like they are trying to make out its a bigger club than it is. Leeds Forest QPR or Wigan is my bet from the information given
Super_horns Posted 20 April 2014 Posted 20 April 2014 How can Hansen call them both stonewall peons? Yes they collide but both go down way too easily. as did the Sunderland guy. That's is what makes it difficult for officials to make the correct decisions. No-one can totally agree.

theessexfox Posted 20 April 2014 Posted 20 April 2014 What sort of tackle was that from Tiote in injury time? Sunderland one wasn't a stonewall pen by any stretch of the imagination, I'd lean towards saying it wasn't one at all.

Sunderland one wasn't a stonewall pen by any stretch of the imagination, I'd lean towards saying it wasn't one at all. Normally don't agree with Shearer, but I do on this. I don't see where the debate is. Azpulaqueta (sp?) slides in, doesn't get the ball, and his left leg causes Altidore to go down as he tries to plant his foot. If he doesn't slide in and stands his ground, Altidore doesn't go down.
Guest ttfn Posted 20 April 2014 Posted 20 April 2014 What information in that article points to Wigan? It's the talk of it being a well-known "official" without mentioning the Premier League which certainly suggests somebody who is famous and probably in the football league.

Think I misread his post, seemed like he'd listed 4 teams and picked Wigan out specifically. Say that I'm not sure why Leeds, Forest, QPR and Wigan ahead of any other team.

Nothing like a nice bit of speculation
Raj Posted 20 April 2014 Posted 20 April 2014 if we can't agree on things how the fook can we hammer Refs who have a second to make a call. i thought the sunderland pen was 100% right
Stadt Posted 20 April 2014 Posted 20 April 2014 Azpilicueta has gone in to block the ball and Altidore stands on him and goes over, the contact comes from Altidore.
Jimothy Posted 20 April 2014 Posted 20 April 2014 Azpilicueta has gone in to block the ball and Altidore stands on him and goes over, the contact comes from Altidore. But if the challenge, that doesn't get the ball, doesn't go in, then his leg isn't there to be stood on.
