foxfanazer Posted 28 May 2013 Posted 28 May 2013 Genuinely its more i hope they finish 6th (tops) can't stand the media Bale love in of last season and the arrogance of their fans whom I personally know, that's pretty much all my judgement is based on regarding themDon't like them very much myself. Think if they keep Bale and add a striker or two (David Villa, Llorente) who they have been linked with, they will be quite strong. All depends on Wenger and if he has to sell anybody, or doesn't sign anyone
SystonFox Posted 28 May 2013 Posted 28 May 2013 Didnt know they had been linked with David Villa? He is all time footballing hero of mine. If he joined them I'd die a little inside but yes he could be a quality addition. Liverpool / Arsenal should have signed him years ago! Could've been a prem great

Jimothy Posted 28 May 2013 Posted 28 May 2013 I think Wenger knows he has to go for it this year. The clubs stadium debt is virtually paid off and I think that frees up some transfer funds. Arsenal are the most stable of the top 4 and have a young improving team. I think with the right additions, possibly a top striker and a new right back. Maybe another midfielder they will be right up there. Nobody knows how Man Utd will react to the loss of Fergie. Man City could go one way or the other, they could have a fantastic season or the new bloke could fall flat on his face. Chelsea, even if Jose comes back still have the same issues, an ageing team too reliant on Lampard and co. There's a lot of rebuilding to do there I think. Spurs will struggle to attract top players because the other big teams will either be offering more money or Champions League football or both. All in all Arsenal have a fantastic chance of winning the title this year, but so do Utd and City. Spurs, without huge investment will struggle to oust anyone from the top 4, same goes for Liverpool.

Kitchandro Posted 28 May 2013 Posted 28 May 2013 Anyone who thinks spurs will beat arsenal to 4th spot knows nothing about football. How can they sign a top striker when they are only offering Europey league football? Giroud had a decent debut season and I expect him to flourish next term. Walcott and Podolski to improve massively too. And as for saying kilo toure is no replacement for carrager???? What are you lot on!!! For a start who says its the only signing they will make. Talk about jumping the gun Podolski isn't a great goalscorer at club level and Giroud is shit. It's a good job he's had countless chances because he can't finish his dinner. I still think they'll finish 3rd or 4th though.

Not anymore they don't. Only Cole, Terry and Lampard are over 30 and play regularly off the top of my head

Danno Posted 29 May 2013 Posted 29 May 2013 Man City could be a force if they bring in the players they are rumoured to: Fernandinho, Isco, Cavani and Navas... not bad at all.
Samilktray Posted 29 May 2013 Posted 29 May 2013 United have made a move for Cesc Fabregas. Apparently.
Wymsey Posted 29 May 2013 Posted 29 May 2013 And some think our fans are impatient enough..... (I love the new Foxestalk feature, I can now successfully post an image using the picture's URL!)
Kitchandro Posted 29 May 2013 Posted 29 May 2013 And some think our fans are impatient enough..... (I love the new Foxestalk feature, I can now successfully post an image using the picture's URL!) I'm disappointed in Foxes Talk, now Wymsey will never learn to do it the proper way. It's like letting people who are rubbish at FIFA play it forever on amateur difficulty even though they win 5-0 every time. I'm sure Moosebreath would agree it's this kind of thing which is causing this country to go to shit.
Guest Bilo Posted 30 May 2013 Posted 30 May 2013 I can't think of a club who deserves the QPR style Hughes more than Stoke. Relegation beckons for them, they're getting worse with each passing season anyway. (Just realised that's the only time Stoke and passing have been mentioned together in ages) Which of the promoted clubs will have the best chance of staying up do you reckon?
Corky Posted 30 May 2013 Posted 30 May 2013 Cardiff probably, don't rate Hull and Palace at all. All three aren't particularly special.
Guest Bilo Posted 30 May 2013 Posted 30 May 2013 Cardiff probably, don't rate Hull and Palace at all. All three aren't particularly special. The Palace that came to us and beat us were brilliant though. Moved the ball well, pacey and lots of strength in the side. If Holloway can rediscover that mix, they might have a stab at it. Cardiff were very average in their two games against us, and I don't think their counter attacking style will work as well in the Premier League. Hull are relegation fodder. Amazed they managed to get promoted. As things stand though, I'd say the three relegation places are likely to be occupied by any of these three sides plus Stoke. I can't see Villa, Newcastle or Sunderland being as bad again.
Finnegan Posted 30 May 2013 Posted 30 May 2013 Hughes going to make a lot of people look very stupid by putting in a solid shift at Stoke.

Guest Bilo Posted 30 May 2013 Posted 30 May 2013 Hughes reckons he is going to get them playing "attractive attacking football" Looking forward to seeing that Or almost bankrupt them trying like he did at QPR. I can't see it going well.
StanSP Posted 30 May 2013 Posted 30 May 2013 Cardiff have a few Premier League quality players already so if they build on that correctly, they should be fine. As for Hull and Palace, there's a lot of work to do. But, based on last season, the gulf between the top Championship teams and the lower Premier League teams is closing. I don't think it'll be that hard for Hull/Palace to stay up as much as people are making out.
Finnegan Posted 30 May 2013 Posted 30 May 2013 Was solid at Man City, was solid at Blackburn and Fulham. Saved QPR from relegation and then panic-bought after being given an epic budget. Signed too many overpaid players too quickly and the wheels came off. It was a mistake and he admits that. He didn't do much worse than "Arry" who stupidly overspent besides the fact they were in an unrecoverable position purely because he was arrogant enough to believe his own hype. Hughes is still learning as a manager, just as Holloway was after he took us down. Two promotions to the premiership later and who's laughing at Olly now? Hughes will turn Stoke in to a professional, mid-table side who play half decent football but don't set the world alight a la Fulham.
Finnegan Posted 30 May 2013 Posted 30 May 2013 As for Cardiff, Hull and Palace? Who knows? Until we see how they invest over the summer I don't see how anyone can brave a prediction.
Sharpe's Fox Posted 30 May 2013 Posted 30 May 2013 Agree with Finn, and not only because he has the legendary John Tams in Sharpe as his avatar. If he knows anything Hughes knows how to keep average sides in a mid table Premiership state like he did at Blackburn and Fulham (albeit briefly). Yes he couldn't do any worse at QPR this season but remember he kept them up with an awesome run of home wins the season before. Stoke is a perfect fit for him IMO and I think he will prove a lot of Stoke fans wrong.
Guest Bilo Posted 30 May 2013 Posted 30 May 2013 The problem I see is that he likes his teams to keep it on the deck, that'll mean a whole new team for Stoke. The fans who made the Hughes Out banner are clearly a bit thick though, who the hell else are Stoke going to get?!
Father Ted Posted 30 May 2013 Posted 30 May 2013 Hull will be fine, their 3-5-2 system will catch a few sides out. Solid defensively, quite a bit of Premiership experience in there and a manager with solid Prem experience. They will survive.
