Corky Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 So, Mark W. is looking forward to another season under Pearson. You must surely be a glutton for punishment Mark. I know, let's go back to the relegation battles. Great fun.
Guest Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 Dougie Freeman must be considered one of the best young managers in the CHamionship at the moment considering the start to last season with Palace and then the way he turned Bolton's season around. HE didn't sign Mills last year but HE clearly does see something (which I also do) in Beckford. If Bolton play as well as they did in the 2nd half of next season he wont be far off 20 goals.

I believe you are right which will only go to show how un motivational our manager is.

And if Beckford plays like he has in the past 3 seasons then he won't be far off 9 goals.
dayday Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 The quicker we get rid of Beckford the better, the bloke is vermin in my eyes, overpaid, over rated and he could not give a toss about this club and that showed in his attitude when he played for us.

theessexfox Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 Delete Beckford insert Wood. Doubt Wood is overpaid, certainly not vermin, I don't rate him though.

Couldn't agree more. Thick people can't see that though......
Guest ttfn Posted 26 June 2013 Posted 26 June 2013 Delete Beckford insert Wood. Wood scored 18 Championship goals last season. He is 21. Beckford has scored 18 Championship goals ever. He is 29.
indierich06 Posted 26 June 2013 Posted 26 June 2013 Wood scored 18 Championship goals last season. He is 21. Beckford has scored 18 Championship goals ever. He is 29. Wood's scored more league goals in half a season than Beckford's ever scored for us too.
MC Prussian Posted 26 June 2013 Posted 26 June 2013 Wood scored 18 Championship goals last season. He is 21. Beckford has scored 18 Championship goals ever. He is 29. flowwolf and facts in relation to each other compares to trying to teach an old dog new tricks.
flowwolf Posted 26 June 2013 Posted 26 June 2013 Wood's scored more league goals in half a season than Beckford's ever scored for us too. And Wood has score how many in how many games for us exactly ? check out the ratio.
smudgerfox Posted 26 June 2013 Posted 26 June 2013 People will always take a punt on a player like Beckford because on his day he looks unplayable. He'll get a hat trick and look set for a twenty goal season minimum. The problem is - as NFP said when he first arrived - the team has to be set up to play to his strengths (which may not suit everyone else), on an off day he might as well not be playing (defending from the front is an alien concept) and once out the team his mardy-arsed attitude will reverberate around the squad....remember Sven only signed him after trying to get 11 or so other strikers and Moyes bit off our hands....

Again delete Beckford insert Wood.
MC Prussian Posted 26 June 2013 Posted 26 June 2013 Again delete Beckford insert Wood.Wood=entering his best footballing yearsBeckford=living off his reputation, entering the final third of his footballing career I know which one I'd rather keep (not only wage-based). Unless Beckford surprises everybody by putting in an extra shift for the next five years or so.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 26 June 2013 Posted 26 June 2013 Really surprises me that some are on the back of Wood, he's a youngster who has proven he knows where the net is. I personally think the combination of his illness then injury coupled with the teams drastic slump in form stopped him from having a 20-25 goal season! Beckford has done fvck all for us and any other team bar Leeds in League 1.....what a player! I rate Freedman, however, Ifeel he'll be signing an overrated pr*ck if he signs Sulkford, hope he does
Webbo Posted 26 June 2013 Posted 26 June 2013 Again delete Beckford insert Wood. I only insert wood on Sunday mornings.
Danizen Posted 26 June 2013 Posted 26 June 2013 Can't wait until Beckford goes. He's been dining out on that Old Trafford goal for 3 years, now.
smudger63 Posted 26 June 2013 Posted 26 June 2013 One Championship and two play off finishes in full seasons is hardly a 'glutton for punishment' when you consider what we have put up with over the last ten years. Well lets hope we start the season with more than 3 wins from 17 games.
Bayfox Posted 26 June 2013 Posted 26 June 2013 I only insert wood on Sunday mornings. only once a week. you poor sod.
smudger63 Posted 26 June 2013 Posted 26 June 2013 And if Beckford plays like he has in the past 3 seasons then he won't be far off 9 goals. Didn`t Beckford score 15 goals in his first season for us? Oh yes, i`m sorry, FA Cup goals don`t count do they! Last season he spent a fair while out injured, but scored 9 goals in 22 games for Huddersfield, which is only slightly over one goal every 2 games, which isn`t too shabby really. I think he will do very well at Bolton, if he stays injury free.
Guest MattP Posted 26 June 2013 Posted 26 June 2013 Well lets hope we start the season with more than 3 wins from 17 games. Random.
suffolk fox Posted 26 June 2013 Posted 26 June 2013 Just pray wood improves his first touch cos lastseason he could not trap a bag of cement albeit 15 goals the majority of which were scored at Millwall.
