RonnieTodger Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 Someone (very unnecessarily may I add) replied to something he put to Logan, saying he was "out of his depth" or something like that and Gally replied along the lines of "sorry not listening £££". Before someone says it - I have literally nothing against him replying. Unprofessional? Yes, but it's his choice. It's just the manner of what he put, simply implying he's fine as long as he still gets paid. It's a massive problem the majority of us have suspected with our dressing room for a while and whilst he'll claim it was 'banter', there was clearly some truth behind it. I may be reading too much into it but I don't think I am, personally. I see. I’m in the same boat as most others. Put in a few good performances, and scored some wonderful goals. He can win matches, but when the going gets tough, he disappears during open play. Blackburn is perfectly suited to him. He’s a Rovers fan, we need the cash and he might be willing to put a few more challenges in. It's just a case off Blackburn actually wanting him. They've changed their transfer policy for the better, since Jordan Rhodes and aren't getting European nobodies from overseas. I'm sure they could afford his daft money too.
Corky Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 He's been ok, probably been over-praised for aspects of his game and criticised too harshly for others. Best for all if he moves on.
Leicester_Gav Posted 26 June 2013 Posted 26 June 2013 He's had his day here, scored some quality goals but has been out of form for a while, don't think he did much as Sheffield United. He probably just needs a decent pre-season and a regullar starting place, which won't happen here. I like the guy, and I LOVE his penos! Good luck at Blackburn Gally (if true)
dayday Posted 26 June 2013 Posted 26 June 2013 I have always felt as technically good Gally is,he never really had a position in the side, you could not slot him in midfield as he is to weak and cannot tackle,to slow to playwide and no good as a striker.
flowwolf Posted 27 June 2013 Posted 27 June 2013 Was never a massive fan but I don't get some of the hate. He was/is an OK player but sadly our ambition/expectation has outgrown his ability. Yes we expect so much and are so ambitious that we have to sell players before we can afford to buy others. The championship won't know how to hold us !
Jace Posted 28 June 2013 Posted 28 June 2013 Conrad Logan testimonal would be epic! Although by the time he reaches 10 years Jamie Vardy would have probably had started more matches
TrentFox Posted 28 June 2013 Posted 28 June 2013 Conrad Logan testimonal would be epic! Although by the time he reaches 10 years Jamie Vardy would have probably had started more matches If he had a testimonial, do you think he'd start on the bench, just for old-times-sake ? Or if he did start, and trotted out towards the goal in front of the kop, maybe he should be greeted with a full rendition of "who the feck, who the feck, who the fecking hell are you?" Just a thought.

Manwell Pablo Posted 28 June 2013 Posted 28 June 2013 What, If King stays for 3 more years you'd begrudge him a testimonial? Wow. I think he's miss read it and thought you were talking about gallagher (fvcking hope so anyway)
Swalker Posted 28 June 2013 Posted 28 June 2013 It would be the right move for Gally and Leicester but he has been a fantastic servant to the club regardless of the (unnecessary at times) stick he gets from some of our fans
harpendenfox Posted 28 June 2013 Posted 28 June 2013 Fantastic servant? He's been paid a fortune and has been decent in patches. Somewhat remote patches at that.
Lambert09 Posted 29 June 2013 Posted 29 June 2013 Totally agree. There was the odd game when he looked a class above and some of his goals were memorable, his' hat-trick' third against Scunthorpe was one of the best I've seen in 45+ years, BUT, too often went missing when needed and I lost count of the times he chickened out of a challenge. Cockiness/arrogance is acceptable from a player who's turning in decent performances week in/week out, but gets under peoples skin when shown by a player who doesn't, (Gallagher). Too high a percentage of wasted set pieces, particularly corners, too low a work rate! We still dont have anyone better though... You are leaving out his PK's from that though, which im fairly sure he has a 100% success rate
Fox92 Posted 29 June 2013 Posted 29 June 2013 It would be the right move for Gally and Leicester but he has been a fantastic servant to the club regardless of the (unnecessary at times) stick he gets from some of our fans Fantastic servant? Maybe we all have our own definitions of fantastic servants but the likes of Izzet were good servants. The times of getting sad over players leaving (ala Izzet, Heskey and even Dickov for me) have long gone because we have so many players that come and go. (Not that I'd be sad over Gallagher leaving anyway considering I don't rate him).
William Boast Posted 29 June 2013 Posted 29 June 2013 1) Advise Blackburn we have a gift for them and for someone to be home tomorrow. 2) Drive Gallagher to Ewood Park and bundle him out of the car OR Lure PG there with promises of Wellens Bantz and free Nandos. 3) Change the locks at the KP / training ground.
tyneside fox Posted 29 June 2013 Posted 29 June 2013 Seemed to lose his way after he smashed his mrs's back doors in...
NewburyFox Posted 29 June 2013 Posted 29 June 2013 I'm not dismissing Gallaghers 'pens', it's just that I dont consider penalty kicks to be regular set pieces. True PG had a decent record, (tho' I'm fairly sure he did miss one early in his time here). That penalty kick ritual of his sums him up though, so bloody arrogant. There used to be a chap and his missus sat behind me in the East Stand, every time Gallagher did his 'piece' the bloke used to say "miss it you tosser".....sums Gallagher up, absolute Marmite....and his corners were ALWAYS shilo! Why exactly? And just to add, it's absolutely pathetic for a 'fan' to hate Gallagher so much that he wants him to miss a penalty.

No, that bloke is just a shit fan. How could you want your own player to miss? Petty little vendettas like that are pathetic.

It's not arrogant, it's his style of taking a penalty as it doesn't let him make eye contact with the goalkeeper. Can't remember him missing a penalty for us so it must work for him.

The times of getting sad over players leaving (ala Izzet, Heskey and even Dickov for me) have long gone because we have so many players that come and go. (Not that I'd be sad over Gallagher leaving anyway considering I don't rate him). Servant is completely the wrong word for any football player, they aren't waiting on us hand and foot.I bet some of them have actual servants at their houses, they could afford them. It's a figure of speech when used for footballers. A bit of a stupid one tbh. I've always had a bit of time for Gally, as other posters have said he's provided us with some memorable moments. I've definitely enjoyed watching him at times. I thought he was a good player in his first two seasons with us, but after that he began to get some really over the top criticism. In fact some of the abuse he got was a bit disgraceful. His form got even worse after that and he's never really shown any sign of coming back from it. He's always suffered from his lack of strength and pace, I think these have been massive weaknesses because there is no doubt he's very technically good and has always had it in his locker to score and assist. His heading and tackling are also poor but I've never seen these as huge problems for an attacking/creative player. If he could just earn himself more space to use the ball he'd be a top player in this division. In truth he should have gone last summer though. He could still do a job for someone in this division, but it's a waste for everyone whilst he's here. While we're at it, I'm not getting the hate for him because of his tweet the other week. No doubt it was a bit stupid and immature, but when he's had the kind of stick he's had over the last couple years our fans can take it on the chin and man up, frankly. He was only trying to wind that little shit up anyway, some people on here need to learn not to take things personally. He's been very good with the fans who haven't been dicks to him. Anyway, there'll be no hatred from me, I wish him no ill will for the rest of his career. I'll be pleased if we get him off the books but that's it.

No that sums up our fans. The kind of fans that convince me going to home games is a waste of fvcking time. But yeh, we're so offended when he tweets in retaliation, right? By the way explain why it's arrogant to score every fvcking penalty you take?
SmithyFox12 Posted 30 June 2013 Posted 30 June 2013 Some of the criticism that Gally receives is slightly harsh?
Bert Posted 30 June 2013 Posted 30 June 2013 Some of the criticism that Gally receives is slightly harsh? It's well over the top. He was scoring all these great goals for us, and then had a dip in form so as it seems like it's the "in thing to do" people started hated on him for very little reason. It's pathetic.

Couldn't agree more. He's not done anything major to warrant the amount of petty abuse he gets. And thing about him tweeting something that a few City fans didn't like, everyone has to remember he's only human?

I just don't get this at all. Regardless of whether I like a player or not (and I don't like/rate Gallagher at all) I wouldn't want him to miss a penalty if he's wearing a Leicester City shirt. Surely those people have got to reconsider these statements, as fans, they surely wouldn't want to see our own player miss a penalty? His corner were poor though, I agree. I think James takes the best corners at the club now.
