Bayfox Posted 30 June 2013 Posted 30 June 2013 I'm not dismissing Gallaghers 'pens', it's just that I dont consider penalty kicks to be regular set pieces. True PG had a decent record, (tho' I'm fairly sure he did miss one early in his time here). That penalty kick ritual of his sums him up though, so bloody arrogant. There used to be a chap and his missus sat behind me in the East Stand, every time Gallagher did his 'piece' the bloke used to say "miss it you tosser".....sums Gallagher up, absolute Marmite....and his corners were ALWAYS shilo! why have you never punched the tw@t. i believe every fan has a right to question a players performance. but to actually want a player to fail because he has some misguided opinion based on no knowledge of the person is why i cant be doing with a lot of our fans.
Burmesefox Posted 1 July 2013 Posted 1 July 2013 Gallagher showed moments of magic and he would be an outstanding player in league 1; in the championship he was ok for a while but that's about it. The odd flash of brilliance but a poor work rate and a luxury player. The thing is I can see Ben Marshall being the same. I just look at our midfield and it's too lightweight, personally I would build the midfield around Knocky and James - the rest are dispensible.
CloudFox Posted 1 July 2013 Posted 1 July 2013 I swear people are just having a bigger go at him because we think he's on his way out of the club now, it just seems too bitter. No, he's not the best player in the world, but he's certainly had his moments for us. He seems like a good bloke who is not afraid to give stick back to fans who go over the top too, which considering the year he's had in terms of personal circumstance, is a fair defense mechanism I'd say. Maybe he shouldn't have risen to the little sod who said what he did on twitter, but I seriously doubt Gally actually meant anything by his response other than trying to give as good as he got. I can't read any malice into it, anyway. If he goes, good luck to him, and good for our wage bill apparently.
Wymsey Posted 1 July 2013 Posted 1 July 2013 Wouldn't be surprised if he moved back to Blackburn. Was at the club for 6/7 seasons, and also with Danny Murphy agreeing to cancel his contract, they may be looking for a midfielder who is experienced His best attribute is direct free-kicks,but still most of them were woeful.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 1 July 2013 Posted 1 July 2013 I reckon he will still be here at the beginning of this season
5waller5 Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 There's much less chance of him being here now wellens has gone ..... 4 hours a day commute on your own is a bit different than with your mate.
lgfualol Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 I bet those commutes were awkward.. "so we didnt play again.." "yeah" *sniff*
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 23 July 2013 Posted 23 July 2013 He's got talent, but it has only come in flashes. A move back could be good for him.
Wymsey Posted 23 July 2013 Posted 23 July 2013 His main quality was his crosses/corners, however in the most recent games he had played in these were a shambles. Was often slow, and got worn out just after the hour mark whenever he played a full game.
One Arm Babba Posted 23 July 2013 Posted 23 July 2013 BRFC24, I know you are closely linked to Gally. Is he likely to move? I don't mind him but it looks like he will have limited chances this year. Might be best for all parties.
KFS Posted 23 July 2013 Posted 23 July 2013 Not true, foolsNow that Wellens has gone, you know you want to spill the beans on what happened
Spudulike Posted 23 July 2013 Posted 23 July 2013 Best penalty taker we've ever had (can't think of a better one). If only he was on the pitch in that last minute ...
Kitchandro Posted 23 July 2013 Posted 23 July 2013 Best penalty taker we've ever had (can't think of a better one). If only he was on the pitch in that last minute ... Genuinely think it's a fair point to make. We never made a 3rd substitution in that game and we didn't have a recognised penalty taker on the pitch. Oh what might of been. Maybe, just maybe, if he was given less stick for 2 years he might have found his way on to the bench for that game.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 23 July 2013 Posted 23 July 2013 If he goes I'll be rolling in money this season. £20 on him wellens and Beckford to score anytime
Ric Flair Posted 23 July 2013 Posted 23 July 2013 If he goes I'll be rolling in money this season. £20 on him wellens and Beckford to score anytime To go with Kermorgant who'll score again both games this season. It will pay for the following seasons season ticket. Easy.
LCFC FOX Posted 23 July 2013 Posted 23 July 2013 But imagine if he came on just to take that penalty and missed, people would want him dead
Deucalion Posted 23 July 2013 Posted 23 July 2013 I've got nothing against Gallagher, I've enjoyed watching him play, but there is no way he would've won the penalty that Knockaert did because he hasn't got the pace. So the substitution would've been between the penalty being won and taken. Not likely if you ask me.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 23 July 2013 Posted 23 July 2013 Can be brilliant but since NP returned he hasn't been great. Looks uninterested and has a cba attitude. Good crosser and free kick taker too, don't mind him staying as long as he truly wants to.
truebluethroughandthrough Posted 23 July 2013 Posted 23 July 2013 Can be brilliant but since NP returned he hasn't been great. Looks uninterested and has a cba attitude. Good crosser and free kick taker too, don't mind him staying as long as he truly wants to. But did he not score the best brace of his time in a blue shirt, probably even his career in Nigel's very first game back?
Lcfclee Posted 24 July 2013 Posted 24 July 2013 What since then has he done?lost a baby son surely that would affect anybodies form.
Jimmy Posted 24 July 2013 Posted 24 July 2013 Gally Marshall and Knockaert are all best suited to playing just behind the striker rather then wide, IMO, but given his wages, like St Ledger, we should probably move him on
