VLC86 Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 Well if Cameron wanted to watch porn, then as he got to ring up aswell? No, he will get a porno on expenses in a hotel
The God Emperor Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 big brother is watching you.........masturbate
Vacamion Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 I remember in the early 90s (ie before the interweb really took off) when an extremely geeky Computer Science student I was in halls with, who had never had a girlfriend, invited me and 4 other flatmates into his room and in awed tones showed us what must have been one of the first ever GIFs - a woman with a coke bottle going in and out of her foo foo. The motion ticked over really slowly and it was a tiny little thumbnail in black & white. I didn't think much to it, but the geeky chap said that this was the future... He wasn't far wrong. Lost touch with him. He's probably a bongo millionaire by now.
Tielemans63 Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 Does anyone remember L!ve TV on cable in the 90's? That saw me nicely through my mid teens. Lovely stuff. Wish I'd kept my sneaky 'match of the day' labelled VHS I kept in my old bedroom.
Collymore Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 Filtering out the more depraved kinds of porn is all well and good, but that happens anyway (though it may not be as efficient as it should be). However this 'opt-out' idea is non-consensual censorship which sets a very dangerous precedent. What gets 'filtered' next? And if parents aren't savvy enough to be keeping track of what their kids are doing on the Internet perhaps it might be a good idea for them to get better at it rather than this kind of blanket measure? IMO there's nothing wrong with the present 'opt-in' system. Totally agree with this. Although how "savvy you can be" depends on the kid. The generation coming through are computer wizz kids before they hit secondary school. The internet has promoted independent learners so if you want to find a way around you will find a way around! You've got thousands of parents in this country sitting happily snug and safe in the thought that they've applied some sort of shit Sky/talktalk child control setting on on their router. The reality is that kids could easily walk into a shop and buy 3g access behind your back and you'd be clueless, let alone hundreds of other software ways The way forward is education. Let the kids see the bigger picture.
Kitchandro Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 There's no need for kids to use the internet unattended before they're teenagers. After that they're probably going to find some porn even if you try and filter it, but you can always try. The most common problem from this is they usually crash the computer at least 3 times with viruses before they learn what to avoid (and yes I am speaking from experience). They won't find kiddie porn unless they search for it, and they won't search for it unless they're fvcked up. Also, how can you even filter it? Do you just filter stuff with certain words in it?
Vacamion Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 Also, how can you even filter it? Do you just filter stuff with certain words in it? Scunthorpe will be wiped from public consciousness.

Danizen Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 It's not just the blatant attempt to control and censor the internet that pisses me off. It's the fact that people who just watch basic, boring but completely legal porn are being lumped in with cretins who watch rape/gore/kiddie porn. It's disgusting. I hope people don't just accept this. It sets a dangerous precedent.
21st Century Fox Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 While he's at it, I hope Cameron will also be holding a mass book burning for the copies of Lady Chatterley's Lover, Lolita, The Kama Sutra, Fifty Shades of Grey or any Mills and Boon that might be lying around in homes within reach of a child.

Of course people tried to say he did it because he watched the porn, not because he was a fvcking sick twisted psycho. 'Ooh our kids are being corrupted'. And it's like when video games are blamed for violent crimes or TV blamed for stunts gone wrong. Let's ban everything, shall we? Most of all I hate this attitude where people aren't expected to take responsibility for themselves. If they've got serious mental issues it's somebody elses fault. It's so easy to blame porn, all the religious nutjobs are against it, there's nobody in the public eye who's going to speak out for it, so let's make it look like we're solving the problem of people being born as freaks who like to touch kids or abuse women by making it a scapegoat. Then I'll look like such a legend.

Then I'll look like such a legend. I agree. When that nurse topped herself because she fell for a radio prank. At one point, people were talking about manslaughter charges for the DJs involved. Yeah, let's blame some dickish radio DJs and let's ignore the fact that anyone who would even consider suicide under these circumstances obviously has a pre-existing mental health condition.

Yeh another good example that. It's very easy for the British to blame some Aussies!

Charl91 Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 I highly doubt that the 'dangerous porn' is what it's really about, to be honest. This is just their way in, through the tried and tested "wont someone think of the children" approach. Once they've managed to implement something like this (and with peoples consent) it makes it far easier to then have other things blocked later on. Maybe "dangerous" political websites, or things which might infringe the copyright of their friends in business.

The old problem-reaction-solution way of gaining more control.
Finnegan Posted 23 July 2013 Posted 23 July 2013 If you're old enough to search for porn and want to see porn then you're old enough to see porn tbh.
Rincewind Posted 23 July 2013 Posted 23 July 2013 How easy is it to accidentally access porn and not get away from it? It is easy You have to really want to find it to access it on a daily basis. If somebody wants to find it they will. Mary Whitehouse was good at finding offensive content. She used to watch it all just so she could tell others how offensive it was. Cameron seems to have the same mindset.
Guest Col city fan Posted 23 July 2013 Posted 23 July 2013 Big brother takes a step forward... The first thing I wondered was how many people would actually let it be known that they wanted to access online porn.
Stadt Posted 23 July 2013 Posted 23 July 2013 Right, I'm 15, I'm some spotty, greasy school kid, If I want to watch porn, I'm going to find a way to watch porn, I'm not some sick minded paedo. People will always watch porn, 40% of the Internet is porn apparently try and block that you shiny forehead prîck,
Tielemans63 Posted 23 July 2013 Posted 23 July 2013 If Cameron is going to get tough with Internet companies and demand they block porn then perhaps he could get tough and ask them to pay something that resembles their fair share of corporation tax? Thought not.
Mike Oxlong Posted 23 July 2013 Posted 23 July 2013 Think you'll still be able to see a load of cvnts on the telly at least weekly. Just watch Question Time.
Danizen Posted 23 July 2013 Posted 23 July 2013 We already have agood enough opt-in system. If I go to Google now and type in, 'Men in Black Men', I'm opting in to see whatever depraved shit pops up and that's my responsibility. Not that I would...
